I have just tried connecting a Panasonic PV GS300 camera using a firewire connection to Videostudio 4. For some reason the camera is not showing up as being connected. It is showing that there is no driver installed, but I understand that no driver is required.

My downloader does not open at all when camera is connected or dows the downloader icon show up at the bottom right as before. If I go into the photoshop menu and click get photos from camera, it says camera is busy or not connected. When I first mentioned my problem someone said to download a certain service patch which I did. All that did was make the icon for the downloader go away and not it will not open at all. Is this all because of windows 8? I had XP before. If the elements 5 will not work on new window 8, then I should just get rid of it.

I have a Nikon D600 but am not able to see any profiles for it at the following path: C:ProgramDataAdobeCameraRawCameraProfiles. It is my understanding that the D600 is now fully supported, yet I don't have the profiles for it in the Profiles folder (or anywhere else for that matter). What am I missing? Where are the D600 profiles?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI am trying to adjust the white balance using photoshop elements 11, all the information I have come across tells you how to do it using the camera raw plug in. This has been updated and still I do not see it listed when I click on the file menu. I take photos of antique gold lockets using a light house and even though the custom white balance is set on my camera the photos are still coming out too canary yellow. I need to be able to adjust the colors so that they are more antique rose gold looking and have been reading different articles and videos on how other people adjust the colors and would like to try a couple of the ways I have seen but am unable as the camera raw plug in is not showing up as an option.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI record video game footage for a youtube channel. I am recording using Dxtory, which can record audio from multiple sources. Currently, it records from two sources, one for gameplay sound and one for microphone voice overs. The problem is when you play the video through a video player, you have both gameplay audio as well as the voice over audio. But when I put the video into Corel for editing, the only audio is the game play audio. I know the video file contains both audio but Corel seems to disagree with me. I am new to Corel, so am I just missing something or should I be looking at a cause outside of Corel?

Just noticed that projects with Boris effects in X4 that are imported into X5 (as a VSP file) don't seem to carry over the effect. I had some trouble last year when I started a project in X3 and then tried finishing it in X4. But this time I noticed the Boris effect is completely missing when I open the file in X5. I spent quite some time getting the effect I wanted with Boris in X4 so I'll just have to create a video file and then pull that into the time line with X5. The other thing I noticed was the VSP project from X4 is very jerky and not fluid at all in X5 even with the same preferences set in X5 as were in X4 (proxy enabled). The jerky movement is mostly with the Motion Studio clip I created but again like I said I had a bad experience once before working on a project started in a previous VS version so I should have learned. It's only less than 30 seconds of work so I'm not too concerned. I couldn't wait for Father's Day so I started it on X4. But now I can't wait to play with the new. Got the lawn done, other chores completed and the kids are leaving alone me to play with my new toy for the rest of the day

View 10 Replies View RelatedI am using X2. I have been capturing video from my camera with no problems. Today, I set it up again and now can't capture. When I press capture video, it runs for 10 seconds and then give a message that capture failed, file is corrupted and unusable and of course stop capturing.
I can't figure out anything that I am doing different than before when I captured successfully. I have restarted my camera, my computer, and video studio all with the same results. During the 10 seconds, I am getting video to my computer.
I enjoy the Video Studio Pro X5 over X3 and I finally got the machine to accept the driver for the samsung minidvd video camera. I selected capture video and started playing the video and hit start capture. It appears to work, but it only records and saves maybe 30 seconds of video. I did a 15 minute tour of a cave but less than 30 seconds of the video is saved.

View 7 Replies View RelatedUsing the trial version of VS X4 I am trying to get it to recognise my Panasonic HDC-HS700 video camera so I can use stop motion and onion-skinning. It recognises my webcam straight away but not the video camera.
Have been advised by email from Corel Support that in this case I should "use import from mobile device or import from digital media to capture from this camera." Unfortunately this will only read stored images from the camera's 250GB hard drive, when what we need is for the camera to be in its still picture recording mode so that each one can be checked by onion-skinning before proceeding to the next shot.
Have also seen somewhere that a video camera needs Firewire in order to be able to communicate with VS X4. The Panasonic has a socket marked with the IEEE 1394 three-pronged symbol, but the other end of the supplied lead has a USB plug on it.
Is it going to be possible to get high quality stop-motion videos using VS X4 and the Panasonic HDC-HS700?

Using Pro X3. I capture from DV camera using DV setting. I edit in AVI project properties. When I convert to MPEG and burn to a DVD the result is not very clear-not a sharp image. Should I capture or edit in MPEG? Our projects are for Public Access TV broadcast.

Also, why not??? Really??? My webcam works with stop motion but my Canon camera can't? I paid 500.00 for a camera that I can't use with VS Ultimate X6? If not, whats so Ultimate about it?

I have found a Corel Tutorial on how to do this but it seems to be for an earlier version of VS since I do not see some of the screens in X5 that are shown in the tutorial. I am still basically a beginner with some of the VS features so may have easily overlooked the process.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI use VS Pro X4 sporadically, but I seem to recall that when previewing my work before burning a DVD, I was able to see my chapter's/menu's that I created - in the Adding/Editing Chapter option. I would then click on their remote control and select/test out my "links" before burning a disc. I must be doing something wrong because when I choose Preview, my main screen custom menu doesn't appear.
If I play around a bit, I can select "Top Menu" on the remote and click a number - which brings me to the chapter (but again, I can see my main menu/chapter screen - the screen that would appear when someone loads my DVD to play it).
A curious thing I have just noticed is that I no longer have any DivX showing as an AVI option under Custom in either X5 or X6. Don't get me wrong: I know all about the DivX woes of other users here. But on this same computer, I have always been able to update to the latest version of DivX and use it with no problem. Today I updated DivX to the very latest version, and went to make sure it showed in VS, but it was not there in either X5 or X6. Nor can either program "see" DivX clips I have stored on the computer.
A few weeks ago, I was having trouble getting X6 to see the various proDad and Boris filters added in the Ultimate package. That was eventually resolved, but in the process I had to uninstall and reinstall both versions. Something else obviously happened then and I am pretty sure it removed the DivX capacity, since all I have now showing under the AVI Compression option, apart from uncompressed, is DV Types 1 and 2, and the MJPEG codec. I used to have a lot more, including, apart from DivX, Cinepak, Microsoft mpeg-4 V1 and V2, ffdshow, Intel IYUV and XVid.
FYI, I have tried renaming the 15.0 and 16.0 folders in Win 7 C:Documents and Settings[My Name]Application DataRoamingUlead SystemsCorel VideoStudio Pro I realise that is mainly to do with repopulating the filters, but thought I would give it a go.
I also re-loaded an older version of DivX which I know had previously worked in X5, though I had never checked it in X6 (8.2.2). That did not work either, including after a reboot.
Also FWIW, I uninstalled XVid, which had previously showed up in X5, and reinstalled it. But it still does not show in either X5 or X6, including after a reboot.
FWIW, I have also checked on another computer on which I have X5 (though not X6 yet) loaded, and that has all the AVI filters mentioned above as missing, plus a variety of others specific to that computer (related to a Matrox program I have loaded on it).
Any easy way of adding a camera flash effect to a VS project rather than refilming it? I am using VSx3

View 7 Replies View RelatedI currently have a copy of Corel Video Studio Prox2 that runs on my Windows XP. I'm planning to purchase a mini camcorder (KODAK Zi8 Pocket Video Camera) which, according to the specs, has video formats as: H.264 (MOV), AAC LC.
Will I be able to import and edit my recordings from the camera? I don't want to convert mov files into different formats so the quality remains the same.
I've been using Corel Video Studio X4 to edit the footage from my Muvi HD camera which is usually mounted on my bike frame or cycle helmet.
If I upgrade to X4 Ultimate it comes bundled with some software that is supposed to stabilise the recorded video. (proDAD Mercalli SE)
Any experience of this software plugin, is it worth upgrading for this component, or any alternatives to steady video recordings?
I have video files of the same performance from two cameras, and want to cut and match between the two. In the past what I've done is lay the firstone on the main timeline and then cropped where necessary to allow cutting to the overlays in tracks 2 and/or 3 as needed. This however proves to be rather time consuming and occasionally I get timing issues.
is there a facility in VS X4 to lay both tracks side by side (losing the audio from one of them) and then block out sections as required by (eg) making the overlay transparent, and thus keep the timing the same all through a piece...?
I have tried to insert a mp4 video file into the timeline and it just does not see the file and if I navigate to it and try open it does nothing
I have download all patches This videostudio pro x3 came loaded on the laptop the mp4 file is from a olympus sp-800 us - I took it from the sd card and put it in a folder on the hard drive
