I currently have a copy of Corel Video Studio Prox2 that runs on my Windows XP. I'm planning to purchase a mini camcorder (KODAK Zi8 Pocket Video Camera) which, according to the specs, has video formats as: H.264 (MOV), AAC LC.
Will I be able to import and edit my recordings from the camera? I don't want to convert mov files into different formats so the quality remains the same.
I downloaded the trial version of VS X5 in hopes that I could consolidate programs. I have and use Camtasia Studio for screen capture and have no problems other than it's expensive and much more than I need. I was hoping X5 would be the program that consolidated screen capture and video editing at a very reasonable price.
The problem I'm having is when I use screen capture to record a downloaded video (as an example) I get no sound. I have no problem when I use the screen record function set to capture sound over the mic (voice). If I record the same video with Camtasia Studio I have no sound problem.
I've been trying to solve this off and on for over two weeks. It would seem that if Camtaisa Studio has no problems Video Studio X5 shouldn't either.
I've been using Corel Video Studio X4 to edit the footage from my Muvi HD camera which is usually mounted on my bike frame or cycle helmet.
If I upgrade to X4 Ultimate it comes bundled with some software that is supposed to stabilise the recorded video. (proDAD Mercalli SE)
Any experience of this software plugin, is it worth upgrading for this component, or any alternatives to steady video recordings?
I'm trying to edit multiple camera videos on main and overlay tracks switching between them. I cannot seem to be able to leave a gap on the main video track at all whether ripple is on or off. What do I do to leave a gap in the main video track (with the video at that point in the overlay)?
Also I noticed the Track Manager has a greyed drop down to add video tracks. Is there a higher priced version to have more video tracks as opposed to overlay tracks?
I wish to import a mixture of Images and videos taken in date sequence by my camera. img and avi.
They import into the library but sort automatically by name or by type (effectivly the same) But when I select sort by date (to get them into the sequence in which they were taken) nothing happens.How to do this? Or does the function not work?
The video I will produce needs to be in date/time order. Is it just that the "time" is not used in the sort and everything taken in one day will not be sorted in chronological order?
I have a series of recordings I created in Photoshop that appear in my actions palette in photoshop CS2.
I would like to move them to another computer but I am struggling to find the correct files to copy and move. They are not anywhere that I can find in the actions or script folders.
What would be the file extension for a recording? Where do they live ?
I was wondering if there is a plugin or app that I can use to either edit or erase the Exif camera data in Mac.

I don't really want to use the RAW software that came with my camera but have read somewhere that you can edit RAW files in Photoshop. I have Photoshop CS but can't figure out how to use the RAW plug in.
Would the Photoshop CS RAW plug in work in the same way as the RAW shooter software I got with my camera? I mean if I used the Photoshop RAW plug in it's not going to compress my images. The reason for shooting RAW is that they are like a digital negative.
Can I edit my camera raw photos in both Photoshop elements 9 and light-room 4?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI just applied the Lightroom 5.3 and Camera Raw 8.3 updates and now am no longer able to open RAW or DNG files into Photoshop CC. When I select a file and choose "Edit In" Photoshop, photoshop will launch, then nothing will happen. After 2 to 5 minutes, an error will popup in Lightroom saying "The file could not be edited because Adobe Photoshop CC could not be launched." An error I've never seen before. When I click "Ok", Lightroom will show that it's "preparing a file for editing" in the upper left, it will create and save a psd to disk and in the catalog (another new behavior), then it will open in photoshop. All other file types (jpgs, tiff, psd) seem to work/open fine between applications. No difference if I open photoshop prior to selecting "Edit In". Selecting "Edit In" other applications, like Viveza, work fine.
I tried first deleting preference files in both applications. No luck. Ditto for plugins. Notta. Eventually I completely uninstalled and fresh installed Photoshop, Lightroom, and Bridge from the cloud. Same deal...can't open raw/dng files into Photoshop.

So far I've used AVS Video Editor, Cyberlink Power Director and Adobe Premiere.With each program I've spent 30 minutes making a quick demo video to see how intuitive it is and how well it performs. Today I downloaded Corel Visual Studio and decided to give it a go.
I've run into a problem straight away.I've tried to import raw avi files.So I'm using the "Select Import Source Folders" screen.When I navigate to the folder containing the files the OK button is greyed out and won't work.It's greyed out all of the time.
I have elements 11. It was working just fine. I went to edit a photo and camera raw is missing. I did the update, but it's still not there.

However, when I open my photos( I have a Canon Rebel T2i so the file extension is .CR2), it says, "processing Camera RAW file" and then opens the photo in the full edit mode instead of the Camera RAW dialog box. I checked my plug-in, and I have version 6.7 of the Camera RAW plug in. I'd really like to start working with Camera RAW! Oh, and I am working abroad for a couple months and do not have my installation disks with me, so uninstalling and re-installing PSE is not an option.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have been using Lightroom 5 happily for several months with no problems. A few weeks ago, I started getting the message at the import screen that previews were not available. This was OK, I just guessed on which I needed to import.
Starting last week, I cannot import files from either of my cameras. On the import screen, when it is trying to find files, it just hangs up. Have let it go for half an hour and nothing. When I click "cancel", I get the message that Lightroom has encountered a problem and needs to close.
I have tried purging the cache, though I'm not sure it is working, as I never get any message that the purge has been successfully completed. I click the button and nothing happens. I have tried starting a new catalog in case my other one is too big (approx 14,000 images), but same problem. I have tried installing the beta 5.2 version, still same problem.
I would love a solution to this, as for now I am having to import the NEF files by just dragging them to a folder on my desktop, and then importing the files from that folder into lightroom (when importing from folders on the computer, I have no problems).
When I upload in i-photo I get a prompt asking me if I want to delete the photos from my camera. How do you do this in Lightroom?
Also, when in Lightroom can you 'safely remove or unmount' your camera from your computer? I have a mac and am not sure how to safely remove my camera when I'm not in i-photo.

View 1 Replies View RelatedLet's start with my setup. I am on an iMac running Mavericks, which has been loaded since the first day of relesae. I have been using Lightroom with my camera since then with no sign of trouble and my camera is a Nikon D7000. I am not a newbie to Lightroom.
Here's what happened. Started Lightroom, plugged in D7000, turned camera on, went to Import screen. Unchecked a few images, created a folder for them to go to, applied 'Auto Tone' & copyright, did not rename the images. Hit Import. Then window pops up (which I didn't make a note of because I thought I could try it again) says error with the folowing files 1-100 (with checkbox) 101-200 with checkbox etc. So closed it out. No images were imported. Went back to Import only to see that the camera is not being seen at all, not even a camera error message.
So, I did the folowing things. I have restarted Lightroom, turned the camera on/off, disconnected/reconnected the camera in a variety of situations such as, before app launch & after app launch. I even tried to import via Bridge but no camera. Did I mess up the Camera profiles?
I have been importing and editing photos from a Canon Powershot S3-IS and never had a problem until today. This is the first time I've tried it with the latest upgrade to lightroom.
I first tried importing from my camera memory card slot. Lightroom froze. Then I tried using my card reader and inserting that in the USB slot. Lightroom froze. I tried to connect the camera directly to the computer with the USB cord. Lightroom told me that it could not import the files.
I tried importing the images to my computer and then from my hard drive copying them into Lightroom. That worked. Is the camera too old to use with the latest update from Lightroom. I would think a jpg. file would be pretty standard. how to import to Lightroom without the extra step?

I am unable to import raw files to E11 from my Panasonic Lumix 200. I get a response that says "nothing imported - no supportive file types" also "can't complete request as file appears to be from a camera model which is not supported by installed version of Camera raw". I think I understand that I need at least a 7.2 version and don't know what I have. The camera is a fairly recent model.

Now when I try to import raw images from my Nikon D3100 camera I get images to preview but after I select images to import and then select "import" I receive error messages and then a notice that there are no images to import. The import function then totally shuts down.
I also just downloaded the most current version of Java Run. How do I fix this problem?
When I plug my camera in, its a Panny TZ25 in this instance, Aperture opens on my Mac and I can see the photos on the camera, Lightroom does the same if I open it but my trial version of Elements 12 doesn't see the camera, the import option is greyed, but if I select "open" I can open the remote disc icon and view the folders on my camera. I assume there is a problem with a twain plugin of some kind ? I would have thought 12 would have had the camera in its list by default. It did in LR as I mentioned.

I get the message " Some import operations were not performed. the following files were not imported because they could not be read (all images on the card are listed). "Generally, when things work at first and then suddenly stop working, the problem is with the preference files. These tell Lightroom how to behave and if something goes wrong with them, it tells the program to behave in a way that causes errors.
We'll want to recreate the preference file. Simply delete, rename, or move the file while Lightroom is closed and then reopen. On launch, Lightroom attempts to read this file for instructions, if it not there a new one is created with all default settings.
Tried importing files from memory card with pics taken in both JPEG and RAW. Imported JPEG's but not the RAW pics. It has accepted RAW files before. First time using Nikon D800 camera.
