I am unable to import raw files to E11 from my Panasonic Lumix 200. I get a response that says "nothing imported - no supportive file types" also "can't complete request as file appears to be from a camera model which is not supported by installed version of Camera raw". I think I understand that I need at least a 7.2 version and don't know what I have. The camera is a fairly recent model.
View 6 RepliesI have been importing and editing photos from a Canon Powershot S3-IS and never had a problem until today. This is the first time I've tried it with the latest upgrade to lightroom.
I first tried importing from my camera memory card slot. Lightroom froze. Then I tried using my card reader and inserting that in the USB slot. Lightroom froze. I tried to connect the camera directly to the computer with the USB cord. Lightroom told me that it could not import the files.
I tried importing the images to my computer and then from my hard drive copying them into Lightroom. That worked. Is the camera too old to use with the latest update from Lightroom. I would think a jpg. file would be pretty standard. how to import to Lightroom without the extra step?

We'll want to recreate the preference file. Simply delete, rename, or move the file while Lightroom is closed and then reopen. On launch, Lightroom attempts to read this file for instructions, if it not there a new one is created with all default settings.
Lightroom will not display preview images during import of raw images. Any images in other formats display fine but with raw images I get a gray window the size of the preview image and the words "preview unavailable for this file".

Now when I try to import raw images from my Nikon D3100 camera I get images to preview but after I select images to import and then select "import" I receive error messages and then a notice that there are no images to import. The import function then totally shuts down.
I also just downloaded the most current version of Java Run. How do I fix this problem?
All of a sudden LR4 will not import my images from camera card, whereas I-Photo has no problem. I get the message " Some import operations were not performed. the following files were not imported because they could not be read (all images on the card are listed). I have re-downloaded LR 4 and restarted my mac (OSX 10.8.5). LR also will not let me import the same images from I-Photo , it gives the same message as when using the camera card..
View 2 Replies View RelatedAt first, I wasn't able to open .nef files from my Nikon D800E. I then realized that I needed to update my camera raw installers. The available versions were 6.5, 6.6, and 6.7 from the adobe website. I also downloaded the Adobe App Manager as it was required to install the updates. The downloading process for all 3 versions worked fine. However, when I tried to install using the adobepatchinstaller, it didn't work. And I tried on all version individually. They all gave me the same message: not the right patch.

View 5 Replies View RelatedWhen I plug my camera in, its a Panny TZ25 in this instance, Aperture opens on my Mac and I can see the photos on the camera, Lightroom does the same if I open it but my trial version of Elements 12 doesn't see the camera, the import option is greyed, but if I select "open" I can open the remote disc icon and view the folders on my camera. I assume there is a problem with a twain plugin of some kind ? I would have thought 12 would have had the camera in its list by default. It did in LR as I mentioned.

They import into the library but sort automatically by name or by type (effectivly the same) But when I select sort by date (to get them into the sequence in which they were taken) nothing happens.How to do this? Or does the function not work?
The video I will produce needs to be in date/time order. Is it just that the "time" is not used in the sort and everything taken in one day will not be sorted in chronological order?
Using LR v5.3 and Windows 8.1
For my particular workflow, I find that loading thumbnails as step 1 of the import process to not be of much value for me.
I would prefer to load all images from the camera CF card directly into my "Import" folder in Lightroom without having to first view and select images for import.
Step 2 for me would then distribute the images into other named folders in LR prior to the development, skipping the thumbnail phase of the process.
So, the Q: Is there any setting that allows importation into a selected folder in LR without first going through the thumbnail process?

But for the last 30 minutes, I have been unable to even upload an image to begin editing. I've tried everything, but no matter what, my images will not "drag and drop" like they're supposed to. There have been similar discussions on this topic, but none identical. When I try to import from a cf card, no images show up to import. In the import dialog, if I click on other source and navigate through directories on my hdd, all the images are greyed out. This is true even for images that are not in my catalog. I have tried creating a brand new catalog with the same results on import. I have deleted all the preferences files. I upgraded from 5.2 to 5.3 and that did not fix the problem. I do not have the original dmg for Lightroom so am unable to try a complete re-installation.

View 17 Replies View RelatedI changed Adobe Elements version (from 10 to 11) and Brand New all-in-one Dell XPS computer that comes with Windows 8 as OS (From XP SP3) ... Now my import in Adobe Organzer gets stuck. Adobe Elements sees the camera, and compares the files on my camera to the photos in Organizer and knows how may are duplicates. I then select all the photos it finds as Non-Duplicates and tell it what directory to import into and select (Finish/Import) and it just sits there. I can change anything on that screen for options, but it really is locked up. I have to use Task Manager to end the task so that I can get back into Adobe Organizer.
