View 3 Replies View RelatedI have a new camera, Canon SX50 which produces RAW images called IMG files. I tried to open one in Photoshop Elements 12 and it says it does not handle that file type. I have Windows 7 x64 operating system. I tried to find updates for Elements 12 and don't see any. (I thought I needed a Camera RAW update). What do I do?

View 1 Replies View RelatedSince I got my new camera Canon 60D, I have not been able to open the RAW (CR2) files in my Photoshop Elements 9. The ones from my previous camera I could. I have installed the Solutions software that came with the camera and have gone to both the Canon and Adobe sites to see if there is something I am missing.

I tried downloading a patch but I got an error message.
I think there is another plugin I can download, but I can't identify it.
I cannot open new files from Photoshop CS6.
I have to go outside of the program and open them by dragging the file onto the dock icon. This means I cannot open any of my digital camera files (transferred into Nikon Transfer into "Pictures") from the program. So, I have to go 'outside' of PS, and then back in – and this eats up a good deal of time, and this latest version isn't as quick as it used to be.
Sometimes, it won't even let me open a file I'd worked on only a few hours before. Again, I can open them 'outside' PS, but I keep getting this error when I try to access them from via command-O:
"Could not complete your request because of a program error."
I've reset the defaults twice. Fresh operating system. Clean user account.
I dont want to update to cs 6 but my raw files wont open with cs5 and also I dont want to use dng converter slowes everything down, what should i do.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI have read in numerous articles that I can open jpg files in ACR from within Elements 11. They all state to go File>Open, then browse to the jpg you wish to open, select Camera Raw from the file type and select the jpg. When I select the Camera Raw file type then all the jpg images disappear in the selection area or if I click the jpg first and then select Camera Raw and open then it says file not found. Am I doing this wrong or are the articles I am reading incorrect?

I have a G6 Canon digital camera that I primarily shoot JPG images with, and wanted to experiment with raw images.
I took about 15 RAW images the other day with this camera and tried to open up. I went to canon and downloaded their Zoombrowser 6.0, which I can view the RAW files, but it does not edit them. I'm looking for something similar to Adobe Camera raw to hopefully view and edit them.
opening the photo. I had to remove the photo for obvious reasons.
I can open one JPEG at a time, or multiple Raw images in ACR.
Have checked other sources including Barbara Brundage "The Missing Manual" but whilst it does not specifically say you cannot, likewise there is no indication that you can.
I've searched for the Camera Raw setting that is available from the Photoshop (not PSE8) menu but it is not even available in Photoshop Elements 8 that I've been able to see. Where this setting is?
View 5 Replies View RelatedI'm currently working with Phroshop CS3. I’ve been using for several years a Canon PowerShot G7 and G9 as a second camera. Some days ago I decided to upgrade to the G12. However, for the first time I’ve experimented the following problem. I've shot some RAW images to try the new camera.
I downloaded the image to my computer (a 2007 Dell Precision). I started my Bridge CS3 and only the RAW icon appeared on my screen (no preview). When I try to open any of these images in Camera RAW the software doesn't open it and the following message appears: "Could not complete your request because it is not the right kind of document".
