View 22 RepliesI made a picture in HRD Pro, and i want to work on it. I saved it as a .psd and also as a .tif, but I cannot open nor the .psd, nor the .tif in Camera Raw? If I save it as a .Jpg I already lose quality..?
View 15 Replies View RelatedI have read in numerous articles that I can open jpg files in ACR from within Elements 11. They all state to go File>Open, then browse to the jpg you wish to open, select Camera Raw from the file type and select the jpg. When I select the Camera Raw file type then all the jpg images disappear in the selection area or if I click the jpg first and then select Camera Raw and open then it says file not found. Am I doing this wrong or are the articles I am reading incorrect?
View 4 Replies View RelatedI just upgraded my camera from a rebel xt to a T3i and now I am unable to open RAW files.
I am using PSE 5.0.
I have checked the Camera Raw preferences to open jpgs and tiffs in Camera Raw. I have the Bride CC preferences set to Bridge CC for jpgs and tiffs.
I c n open jpgs in Camera Raw, but I can't open tiffs in Camera Raw. I must be doing something wrong.
The settings for jpgs and tiffs in Windows file association are identical.
The settings for jpgs and tiffs in Bridge preferences are identical.
Yet, I can open jpgs in Camera Raw, and I can't open tiffs in Camera Raw.
I have difficulties opening tif and jpg files in camera raw. I can not access Camera Raw. With CR2 files i have no problem. So far I know all is correct in the preference dialogue box. I bought lightroom 5 also. Can this be the cause?2

I'm using Photoshop Elements 11 Organizer and Adobe Bridge CS6 concurrently. If I have Bridge open to the same folder as PSE Organizer and I do an "Add captions ..." operation to a group of files selected in the Organizer, then there is a very good chance that PSE Organizer will rename one or more files to OriginalFileName_edTMP-1.extension and leave the renamed file in the directory rather than completing the update and returning the file(s) to their original name. In most cases my original files are Nikon .nef files with .xmp sidecar files, but I've also seen this happen with .psd files. The .nef files are generally large, averaging 35 Mb per .nef image and the .psd files are usually over 100 Mb. If PSE Organizer and Bridge are open to different folders then Organizer does not leave the renamed file. logical threading error in PSE Organizer where it does not consider that another application may be monitoring the folder and also opening the files, which is what Bridge does when it discovers that a file has changed (the addition of a caption changes the file contents.) This was also a defect in PSE Organizer 10.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI have a new camera, Canon SX50 which produces RAW images called IMG files. I tried to open one in Photoshop Elements 12 and it says it does not handle that file type. View 5 Replies View RelatedI can open one JPEG at a time, or multiple Raw images in ACR.
Have checked other sources including Barbara Brundage "The Missing Manual" but whilst it does not specifically say you cannot, likewise there is no indication that you can.
I've searched for the Camera Raw setting that is available from the Photoshop (not PSE8) menu but it is not even available in Photoshop Elements 8 that I've been able to see. Where this setting is?
View 5 Replies View RelatedMy normal workflow consists of opening RAW files in ACR, making adjustments, then moving on to Photoshop where I apply retouching and build clipping paths. I then save the file as an 8bit TIFF. I rarely reopen these 8bit TIFFs again, but when I did so recently what I encountered was not what I expected.
My Photoshop (CS6) is opening 8bit TIFF files as Camera Raw when selected by "right click" followed by "Open with Photoshop CS6". I remember being able to open 8bit TIFF files directly in Photoshop, but I think this change has occurred since installing CS6.
Again, files in question began as 16bit Raw files, but were worked on in Photoshop CS6 (retouching) and saved with clipping paths. This would reduce them to 8bit files. When placed in page layout, clipping paths work properly, confirming that paths are intact.
When I want to open the files again - say from Bridge or a Finder window - by the method "right click - Open with Photoshop CS6", the file is opened first in Camera Raw, and then in Photoshop, and the path(s) is missing.I can open these TIFF files and access Paths but only if I locate and select the file from within Photoshop (File/ Open.../). The Open window gives "Format" as Camera Raw (which it isn't, having been saved as 8bit file). If I override format to "TIFF", the file opens with clipping path shown.
I have a camera not (really) supported directly by LR - so i use .tiff files created by the camera bundled software. This works fine,
Now i would like to be able to use my own camera profiles with LR with my .tiff files - when i open the RAW files (an old version is supported, so they can be opened) the profiles are availiable as expected, but when i change to the .tiff version of the file, the profiles are gone.

I changed Adobe Elements version (from 10 to 11) and Brand New all-in-one Dell XPS computer that comes with Windows 8 as OS (From XP SP3) ... Now my import in Adobe Organzer gets stuck. Adobe Elements sees the camera, and compares the files on my camera to the photos in Organizer and knows how may are duplicates. I then select all the photos it finds as Non-Duplicates and tell it what directory to import into and select (Finish/Import) and it just sits there. I can change anything on that screen for options, but it really is locked up. I have to use Task Manager to end the task so that I can get back into Adobe Organizer.
