Jan 2, 2013Can Photoshop CS6 (Windows 8) make lens corrections for the Canon PowerShot SX50 HS camera? My version of CS6 (64bit) is Photoshop: 13.0.1 x64 and CameraRaw plug-in is 7.3.0.71. There is a file "Canon PowerShot SX50 HS AdobeStandard.dcp" size 118KB in the folder c:Program DataAdobeCameraRawCameraProfilesAdobeStandard.However when I open a Cameras Raw file (*.CR2 for Canon) in Camera Raw and go to the Lens Corrections window with (under Lens Profile) Make = Canon I cannot find my camera in the drop-down list for Model. The list has 30 items ending with Canon PowerShot S100.
I have tried removing Photoshop, re-installing it and installing the updates, but this has made no change. I have been using Photoshop under Windows 8 since early in October 2012, and everthing else seems to be operating correctly.

Jun 14, 2013I can't open CR2 files from my Canon EOS Rebel XSI. I get the warning "Photoshop cannot open this file. If you are attempting to open a raw file from a digital camera, make sure you have the latest Camera Raw update installed via > Help > Updates."
So I go to Help >Updates and update, but then get the warning that "Some components of the following products could not be updated." Listed is the PS icon and a plugin icon.
I have Lightroom and PS.

I have updated to the 2.4 camera raw plugin and placed it in C:Program FilesAdobePhotoshop CSPlug-InsFile Formats. When I go into CS to help->about plugin -> there are two camera raws that show up. The first is labeled 3.7 (2007) and the other is labeld 2.4 (2005). Not sure where the 3.7 version is coming from, but also not sure if it matters.
What do I need to do to get CS to enable the reading of the Digital Rebel XT raw files?

However, I wonder if PSE 10 can open G16 Raw images?My client's computer is not powerful enough to upgrade to PSE 12.
I understand that I can have him convert the Canon G16 Raw images to DNG's using the free Adobe converter and import those into PSE 10, but I was hoping that PSE 10 could use the new 8.2 Raw Converter from Adobe that includes the G16, so it could import the images directly.

Nov 14, 2012I just installed ACR 5.6 on my old Elements 7.0, hoping that it would allow me to upload RAW files from my Canon S100. I get a message saying something like "Cannot open file (filename.CR2) because it is the wrong type of file". Someone in another thread suggested that not all CR2 files are the same...that they're camera dependent. (It seems like they shouldn't be) Supposedly ACR 5.6 supports the Canon S90, which is 2 generations prior to the S100.
