Photoshop :: CS3 Will Not Open Raw Files From Canon
Feb 22, 2012
My Photoshop CS3 will not open Raw Files from Canon EOS 5D Mark 11. I have downloaded Camera Raw 4.6 but the message is... Photoshop does not recognize this type of file.
I have a Canon camera that I use to shoot CR2 raw files but find I cannot open them in CS3 Photoshop or Bridge. I get the message that it does not recognise this type of file.
I am trying to edit photos in the raw CR2 format I took with my Canon T1i. I cannot get the new Photoshop CC to open them. I think I need a plug in to do this but cannot find out where to download the plug in. Please send a link to the plug in 5.4 for windows and how to download it so i can finish editing the photos I have.
I can't open CR2 files from my Canon EOS Rebel XSI. I get the warning "Photoshop cannot open this file. If you are attempting to open a raw file from a digital camera, make sure you have the latest Camera Raw update installed via > Help > Updates."
So I go to Help >Updates and update, but then get the warning that "Some components of the following products could not be updated." Listed is the PS icon and a plugin icon.
Get the following error message: "Could not complete your request because this version of Photoshop does not supply the services required by this plug-in module."
I have updated to the 2.4 camera raw plugin and placed it in C:Program FilesAdobePhotoshop CSPlug-InsFile Formats. When I go into CS to help->about plugin -> there are two camera raws that show up. The first is labeled 3.7 (2007) and the other is labeld 2.4 (2005). Not sure where the 3.7 version is coming from, but also not sure if it matters.
What do I need to do to get CS to enable the reading of the Digital Rebel XT raw files?
I have tried to download my raw files CR2 to my Photoshop cs5 but it keep saying
"Could not complete your request because the file appears to be from a camera model which is not supported by the installed version of camera raw."
My camera model is Canon 650d which is supported and i have downloaded the latest raw update but every time i go to the Help > About Plug in, it keep saying that my version is 6.3.0.79.
I have downloaded DNG7.2 but still cannot open Raw files from my Canon 650d. When I open up the converter, I cannot choose a folder to convert images. If I try and convert a single image I am getting a write permission error.
Since I got my new camera Canon 60D, I have not been able to open the RAW (CR2) files in my Photoshop Elements 9. The ones from my previous camera I could. I have installed the Solutions software that came with the camera and have gone to both the Canon and Adobe sites to see if there is something I am missing.
I have a new camera, Canon SX50 which produces RAW images called IMG files. I tried to open one in Photoshop Elements 12 and it says it does not handle that file type. I have Windows 7 x64 operating system. I tried to find updates for Elements 12 and don't see any. (I thought I needed a Camera RAW update). What do I do?
I just reinstalled PSE12 and LR5 and cannot open raw files in PSE12. The error message says my camera is not supported. Im using a Canon 70D, my raw format is CR2, and Elements tells my my Camera Raw plug-in is Version 8.
Even though Camera Raw plug-in lists G1X RAW as supported, PSCS5 will not open the RAW .cr2 files. Camera Raw plugin version 6.6.0.261 Likewise, Adobe DNG Converter says it will, but will not. Likewise Lightroom 3.
I have seen mention of a beta 6.7 that will, but I am a publisher, and don't like having to use beta software! Why is Adobe behind on this? The G1X is being sold (I have one), and should be supported in PS and Lightroom
PSCS5 12.0.4 x64 DNG Converter 6.6.0.261 Lightroom 3 3.6 with Camera Raw 6.6
I purscahed PShop CS6 Upgrade a few days ago as an upgrade for the full CS4 Extended (which was upgraded to CS5 last year). I installed CS6 as an upgrade to the installed and registered CS5.
Neither Bridge CS6 nor Photoshop CS6 will read Canon Cr2 raw files, and the "About Photoshop" splash screen indicates my purchased CS6 is a Beta version.
Should I uninstall CS5 and CS6, reinstall CS4 and then apply the CS6 upgrade to CS4?
I am using PSE 11 with ACR 7.4. I just bought a Canon 70D and PSE will not open the RAW files (.cr2) produced by this camera. Where can I download the ACR update that will let me open my 70D RAW files?
