Paint.NET :: Image Manipulation - Camera Flash Effect?
Jan 6, 2014I'm not really an artist or good with image manipulations, but I am learning how to create games on my own (using Unity3D currently) and have to create some basic art or animations myself when I can't find it available for free online, and I do that in paint.net.
Right now I'm working on an asteroids clone to further my learning and what I want to do is when the player ship spawns in the game, I want to have a little flash so that it doesn't look as if the ship just appears out of nowhere.
I figured that the closest thing to what I want looks like a camera flash and have been looking for this online but have yet found nothing. I've searched these forums, too, in both Plugins and the tutorials for creations and distortions/modifications but have also come up empty.
There was a plugin for a lens flare effect, but is not what I need, and one plugin that creates glitter/sparks, but that one seems to only work when you have a suitable image to work with, whereas I need something that creates this kind of flash by itself.
VideoStudio :: Audio Disappears After Adding Effect In Pro X5?
Jan 28, 2013If I add an avi clip into the timeline, I can hear the audio in both clip and project playback. However, once I have added an effect (any effect), the audio cannot be heard in clip playback - it can only be heard in project playback. If I remove the filter, the same thing still happens - no audio in clip playback - only in project playback.

Apr 5, 2013I have created a banner for a website in Photoshop. On the right side of the banner I want to have a flash file I created with transitioning imaging. I also use Dreamweaver but the banner is such that I cannot add it together in dreamweaver , or at least I haven't figured out how.
The best way I would like to do it is in Photoshop but will the Photoshop image allow the swf file to play? I tried to create a gif in Photoshop but that doesn't play like I would like. I am only using three images 330 px by 248 px so it isn't huge.

Jul 21, 2003I have a slight problem with a few pictures. I had a few pictures taken in a sunroom with a lot of windows. What we didn't realize was that the camera flash would reflect off the glass and form a flash effect in the pictures. Any idea on how to fix, if possible?

Oct 19, 2010I have found that the latest version of Flash makes some of the older flash files from VS9 jerky or causes them to stall altogether.To fix this I simply use the Flash removal tool from Adobe and install version 10.0.45.
Magically all my old Flash files have movement again.Trouble is every couple of days Flash somehow updates itself back to the current 10.1.something and the old files stop working again.Is there a way to stop Flash from updating automatically?

Mar 8, 2011I want to use VSx4 to create a custom sized .swf, flash file for a website. I plan to use a free program called Any Video Converter to covert my final VSx4 creation to the .swf as I hope that future versions of VS will have .swf output.
I'll be creating the video using stills with transitions in between.
Now I haven't tried this yet but...
I know how to change the project properties to custom frame sizes which is fine but what should I aim to be creating? I was thinking of an MP4 (H264) file but just wondering if you have other thoughts on what I should create as a video file before converting to .swf
The stills will be j-pegs. No audio will be involved
Lightroom :: Odd Effect With Camera Profiles?
Jan 30, 2013how a raw file looks in LR straight out of the camera using the Adobe Standard profile.
and this is how it looks with the profile set to Camera Standard. It seems as though the Adobe Standard profile is clipping the green channel in the magenta shades for some reason.
Clearly switching to another profile will solve it but my presets often set the profile so it's a bit of a nightmare.

Dec 15, 2013how to create a self generating space (static stars/particles) which is driven by the movement of the 3d camera.
The reason I ask is because I need to create a space flythrough over a long period (3mins) and i don't want to create a huge volumetric space to simply fly through as it seems very inefficient. Plus it has the drawback of the partcile cloud being visible at the boudary of the volume due to the lack of particles the other side of the volumetric boundary.
What the particular effect would need to do is act as a volume attached to the cameras position and rotation which generates particles at the exact opposite velocity of the camera so it gives the illusion that the particles are static and that the camera is flying past them.

Jun 3, 2013When adding a grain pattern effect to an object in Illustrator CS6 I get an odd bevel that surrounds the object. There is nothing in the Appearance window to suggest that there should be a bevel and I didn't add it myself.
Is there some setting I am missing or an easy way to remove the effect? For now I am masking the object with a slightly smaller object but it's starting to drastically increase the size of my file.

Mar 18, 2011I am using X2. I have been capturing video from my camera with no problems. Today, I set it up again and now can't capture. When I press capture video, it runs for 10 seconds and then give a message that capture failed, file is corrupted and unusable and of course stop capturing.
I can't figure out anything that I am doing different than before when I captured successfully. I have restarted my camera, my computer, and video studio all with the same results. During the 10 seconds, I am getting video to my computer.

Jan 20, 2013I enjoy the Video Studio Pro X5 over X3 and I finally got the machine to accept the driver for the samsung minidvd video camera. I selected capture video and started playing the video and hit start capture. It appears to work, but it only records and saves maybe 30 seconds of video. I did a 15 minute tour of a cave but less than 30 seconds of the video is saved.
