VideoStudio :: X5 - Compatibility With Canon XLH 1 A HD Camera?
Jul 21, 2012
I have been a user of the old MSP8 editing program for some time, just updated the PC and would like to use the New video studio x5, is this compatible with the Canon XLH 1 A HD camera.
Have just installed Video Studio ProX3 on a new computer running Windows 7. Software much the same as VS 10 which I ran on a computer with XP.
The new system does not want to connect with my Canon MV930 Video camera. - if it does the picture is frozen and the message - 'Inconsistent vidoe from capture source' appears. Or I get the message - 'No video input source' detacted' appearing.
Could the problem be with the Firewire card/drivers taken from the old computer? - am having this checked out to-day.The software downloads vidoes from a DVD produced by me on the old system quite happily.
Just bought a new camera (Canon T3i). Took a scan disk full of pics in "Camera Raw". Tried to open in Photoshop and got message that "Camera Raw" from my camera is not compatible with Photoshop CS5.
Am I correct in assuming that mts files aren't compatible with VSX2? I can drag them to the library but when I put them on the timeline the program shuts down. These are HD files from my Canon video camera.
I also can't import them- I've tried every way to get the files into VS but it shuts down.
A couple of years ago I bought VS 11.5 and had absolutely no problems with it. Two weekends ago, my computer (Windows XP pro) blew up - I have now installed it (VS 11.5) again on my new computer, which runs Windows 7. When I double click the icon to load it, the following warning box appears:
Cannot initialize the application. The screen resolution is too small to play the video. The screen resolution must be set to at least 1024 x 768. Followed by an "OK" box, which if clicked, gets rid of it.
Clicking START, CONTROL PANEL, DISPLAY, ADJUST RESOLUTION, it tells me that the resolution is 1280 x 960, both of which are greater than the minimum advised.
Does if VideoStudio X3 is compatible with my ATI TV Tuner 650 Pro capture card? It works fine within my Roxio Media Creator 10 program, but I want to use Pro X3 to capture. However, the program always returns the error: Either no video capture driver is installed in this system, or no device is connected.
It is stated quite clearly on Corel's website that Video Studio Pro X3 is "Enhanced! NVIDIA® CUDA™ GPU acceleration and Intel® Core™ i7 CPU optimization "
Post on this forum seem to indicate a serious problem and that users with i7 processors have to change their Bios settings each time they use Video Studio and disable one of the great features of this CPU, i.e. Hyperthreading. Is this true or only under certain conditions ?
Media players are not compatible with DV.avi files. So I need to convert my DV.avi movies which I made/kept during several years to a media player compatible format. I want to keep as much as possible the original DV quality. I tried almost all conversion possibilities within VSX3.
MOV conversion looks as one of the best, but like I mentioned in another thread I only get progressive mode, which unfortunately results in judder when there is motion, line twitter because of the (poor?) VS deinterlacer, which also cause stair casing on slant structures (line doubling?). Up to now I keep it on an MPEG2 9800kb/s LFF conversion.
I just downloaded the PS 6 upgrade, and it runs fine, but won't decode my Canon 5D3 CR2 raw files. All the pages I access only tell how goood Camera Raw is. Where is the correct page?
I shoot with the Canon 20D, 30D, 40D, 1DMII, and the Rebel XTI. The Raw processor is showing an anomaly only with the 40D files. When I load raw images, and when the image is displayed, it is shown at one setting. Then in 3 seconds, its updated again at about 1/2 stop brighter. Each time I click on another image on the left column, same thing. The new image is displayed, then 3 seconds later, updated at about 1/2 stop brighter. THe histogram reflects the changes showing the data moving to the right. This only happens with the 40D raw files.
Whats up?
It happens regardless if "Auto" or "Default" is selected. I use "default" as a norm, never letting PS do an auto correction.
How do I stop Camera Raw from doing the second update? This has to stop.
I have many, many cameras and have used Photoshop and Bridge for years. Even though the latest updates for Camera RAW says it can handle the T4i, I tried opening these files on two separate computers, both running Win 7 64 bit, and my having Photoshop Extended 5+ 64 bit on both computers.
I tried reformatting the camera card, wanting to eliminate that as a possible problem, and the same problem exists.Camera RAW will recognize all of my other cameras, the D Mark III, T3i, Nikon D2x, D3, D3X, so on and so forth, but not the T4i.
I stopped short of doing an image restore on that machine, thinking my installation of Photoshop must have been corrupted when I removed Elements and Preimere Elements, but no...I'm now on an IBM W701 with the same software and I have the same probem.
How or where to find about Camera RAW support for Canon 5D Mark III in Photoshop ? I have downloaded the new Camera raw update from Adobe web, but it still does not accept its format.
I bought a Canon 6D last summer and recently decided to shoot in RAW (.CS2). My previous camera was a Canon Rebel t1i, and RAW files from that camera worked without a hitch. When I try to open raw files from the 6D, I get a notice that I need an update.
So I downloaded and installed the update for Camera Raw, and also downloaded and installed the associated DNG converter.
After working for a few weeks, Camera Raw has stopped opening Canon 5D Mark II files. Says it is not a readable file format but I know the files are not corrupt because they will open in the Canon utility.
I recently bought a Canon 5d mark iii camera and am having difficulty viewing the raw files on my Mac. The Mac operating software is 10.5.8 and the mac doesnt have intel. Photoshop software is CS3.
I have looked at various plug ins but am struggling to find one that will work. Is there no option to me other than buying a new laptop with the latest photoshop or is there a workaround
I have a G6 Canon digital camera that I primarily shoot JPG images with, and wanted to experiment with raw images.
I took about 15 RAW images the other day with this camera and tried to open up. I went to canon and downloaded their Zoombrowser 6.0, which I can view the RAW files, but it does not edit them. I'm looking for something similar to Adobe Camera raw to hopefully view and edit them.
opening the photo. I had to remove the photo for obvious reasons.
I'm currently working with Phroshop CS3. I’ve been using for several years a Canon PowerShot G7 and G9 as a second camera. Some days ago I decided to upgrade to the G12. However, for the first time I’ve experimented the following problem. I've shot some RAW images to try the new camera.
I downloaded the image to my computer (a 2007 Dell Precision). I started my Bridge CS3 and only the RAW icon appeared on my screen (no preview). When I try to open any of these images in Camera RAW the software doesn't open it and the following message appears: "Could not complete your request because it is not the right kind of document".
