Maya :: Objects In Mudbox Will Not Transfer To Solid Object

I am having an issue transferring an object I have sculpted in Mudbox, and trying to import it correctly to Maya. In Mudbox, both of my objects show up just fine (don't worry about the UV issue on the face). When I choose to 'send objects to Maya,' the objects display in a new scene, but the hair doesn't show up at all. In the Outliner, Maya displays an empty transform node titled 'hair,' but I can't get it to show up as a solid mesh within the scene.
Am I going to have to remodel the hair in mudbox again and just pray that the model will import to Maya without issues?

How can I remove the lines in the middle after I press and pull the objects.
Attached is the Untitle.jpg, to make more clearer to you. Blue is the wall and skyblue is the aquarium. I want the back and the front of the aquarium don't have any line in the middle but even I do shade command the fill of the color is still there. Cause if I explode and delete the line in the middle the colors that fill the aquarium are getting rid off See Untitled 2.Jpg to see what I mean. And also how can make the aquarium Untitle 3.jpg transparent?

I am working on a personal project and any time I try to detail and texture my character in mudbox, I get no UVs showing in mudbox even tough I have projected UVs in maya before exporting.

I have a subdivided plane that I wish to scale horizontally to match another objects dimensions. In cinema 4d I can check an objects width and then just put that number into the other object width input.

My scene has about 10,000 objects in it, so it's tough to find that unnamed object...
It doesn't seem to matter much, but it's annoying- every time i render a frame I get:

I was wondering if it is possible use transfer details but just for some parts of the model, because sometimes you have parts that you don't want to affect the projection. I tried with freeze but doesn't work.

I'm transferring from a high poly source model (5million polys) onto a target model that has 3 levels, no layers. At level 3 its pretty much the same polcount.
Whenever I transfer it come sup with a Transfer Detail warning saying that the target model appears to have more detail than the source and do I want to continue or swap. Surely the source model will have more detail, and I shouldn't get the warning ? I get this warning even I transfer from the source to lvl1 (much lower etc)

Is it possible to transfer pose bones(weights) from one Mudbox file to another to use them for another mesh? I can see that one can maybe use .fbx and Maya path but not everyone has Maya or a Maya user.

Is it possible to selectively extract(apply disp to a mesh) tiles ala cyslice? If not...it would be very useful to have.
In my new little experience with other use of mudbox other that sculpting I still find it somewhat limited compared to cyslice. Also the extraction progress UI is quite buggy to me (at least it looks like it on my machine) as it doesnt update the status...and therefore you would think that the extraction process isnt working, but then, checking the directiory where the files are supposed to be saved, MB is actually doing the job.
And about the transfer detail to a new topology, is it possible to do it selectively? I ve tried to freeze, hide, areas that I dont want to transfer the detail to but nothing..still the whole thing gets transferred.

I have a.3ds file imported into Civil 3d. The object imported as a polymesh in Civil 3d. I need the solid 3d object to do some edit like slice or union and subtract.
The question is "How can I import .3ds into Civil 3d as a solid objects or hoe can i convert polymesh to solid?"

i'm desperately trying to export some curves from maya and import them in mudbox, but i can't get it working. i tried exporting .iges files from maya, because they are supposed to support curves, but mudbox won't import this kind of file. .fbx files don't work, because they do no support curves. How i could achieve importing curves to mudbox?

I’m using mud box 2013 and maya 2013, I’m trying to send a model/mesh through from maya to mud box by clicking the mesh and then file > send to mud box > send as new scene. This seems to work fine I get a little connected to mud box dialogue box in the bottom right corner and mud box begins to open, when it finally opens the scene inside of mud box is empty. Its as if its imported nothing.

how to lay UVs for seperate objects into tiles so that when painting in Mudbox I can color each object without the color bleeding through UVs to other objects.
I tried resizing them within the UV space but this didn't work because I also need them to have a high resolution so I can get detail in Mudbox...
I basically want my UVS to look like they do in this picture...

I have run into an issue relating to the differences in the way Mudbox and Maya subdivide meshes. My workflow for creating blend shapes is as follows:
1. Create base head mesh in Maya
2. Import base head mesh into Mudbox and subdivide to level 2
3. Create a Mudbox layer on top of base head mesh to sculpt each blend shape (e.g., browsMidUp)
4. For each blend shape, export the level 0 mesh to Maya for use as a blend shape on the base head mesh
Here is where it all falls apart.
When I smooth the blend shape in Maya (either by choosing smooth preview or by selecting Mesh>Smooth), the smoothed mesh in Maya differs from that in Mudbox. In the case of browsMidUp, the blend shape created in Mudbox only modified the brows. However, in Maya when the blend shape is smoothed the mouth opens up (i.e., the lips smooth differently in Maya than Mudbox, causing the mouth to open).
This is incredibly frustrating because I did not discover this problem until after I created approximately 35 blend shapes in Mudbox!I believe I can work around my current error. However, I would like to know how others approach the creation of blend shapes.Do you use Mudbox? If so, how do prevent issues associated with smoothing differences?

I'm having a problem with the transform of my model every time I import/export through maya and mudbox.
Basically every time I import a mesh from maya into mudbox then export to maya and back my mesh is shown smaller on the grid, I've done everything I can think of in Maya before exporting by centering the pivot, freezing transform, and deleting all history, but I still get the same result and my mesh just gets smaller and smaller?? I've also tried resizing it as well and get the same result.
I'm using maya 6.5 and mudbox 2011.

I'm trying to extract a vector displacement map out of three objects.
All three of them are on the same UV tile, with no overlap between each other.
All three of them have the same subdivision level and share the same Mudbox material.
I choose "Generate one map for all targets".
When hitting extract, Mudbox tells me that :
"Subdivision based map extraction is available only when the number of source and target meshes are the same".
Well its the case. With the same order in target and source models (A-B-C)

Is there an easy way to paint weights across multiple objects? if I have a body + shirt + armor and want to create a joint and similar weights on all currently I found a very awkward way to do it which is do it on 1 object and manually try and paint weights in a similar way on all others.

I am painting a brick wall, the wall is separated into 2 objects, the bricks and the stuff between the bricks.
The problem I am having is that I isolate the stuff between the bricks and paint that gray but when I "show all objects" the gray color have transferred to the edges of the bricks. I have tried maps with different resolutions but that makes no difference.
How do I make it so that I can paint only on the isolated object?
One other way:I can apply 2 different mudbox materials, 1 to each object and create 2 diffuse maps, 2 bump maps and 2 specular maps. But how do I combine the different map with each other?
The objects are going to be combined into 1 mesh that uses 1 diffuse map, 1 normal map and 1 specular map.

Is there a way I could wrap a stencil around the object ?
For instance.. on a cube.. I use the stencil, straight line to wax a hard surface.
But on the edges, it breaks because it projects from the front.
any way to wrap the stencil around the object so the line continues without breaking on the edges ?

I have a character in Max. The eyes are separate geometry as usual. When I "Send to Mudbox" everything works out fine. No error messages. But the eyes are being placed by the knees and close together. Though I can move them into position, I'd like to know what's cause this problem? The character itself is fine.
The eyes ARE quads with correct Unwrapping. Again, no warning displaying.

For some reason, when I try to create a transparent object with a low opacity material, the object underneath it seems blurred out as if the texture res of the inside object is very low. once I hide the transparent object it returns to normal.
Unfortunately it also looks like that when saving an image.
I tried playing around with the material and with the preferences of Mudbox but couldn't find a solution.

I am having an issue with transferring my attributes from one object to another, the transfer works, but not 100% - the animation is taking place in the wrong translation, but the translation match in the channel box. It didn't take the place of the old object, it went off beside it.
I attached a picture, the purple ball which is on the gray plane is the one I need to replace, the ball out off of the gray plane is the one I need to be in the purple balls place.
