AutoCAD Civil 3D :: Create A Profile From A Series Of Points

Dec 15, 2013

I have collected points across a 500m distance with easting, northing and height values. This line of points is measuring a stepped slope of a field.

I want, if possible, to create a profile (something that looks like a slice of the slope, so that the steps and profile of the slope is clear.

Can this be achieved? Will you be able to guide me through the process?

GIMP :: Create Series Of Sphere Images Used As Animation

Apr 12, 2012

I'm trying to create a series of sphere images that are to be used as an animation, whereas in my case I have a transparent background layer and a layer containing a sphere. Then I want to add a 15 degree rotation for each new image. The problem is that every time I select the rotate tool and click on the image to enter the value, the sphere is moved slightly.

GIMP :: Create Series Of PNG Files From Existing Image

Aug 7, 2013

I'm using the script export-selection.scm to create a series of PNG files from an existing image. It works fine but I find the fact that it saves the file to a name that it constructs (based on the .xcf file loaded, and whether it is saving a one layer or visible layers, etc) really slows me down, as I have to bounce between gimp and explorer to rename each output file after every save.

I looked at the source to see if I could tweak it so that the filename it created was unique, but I must have missed a crucial episode somewhere, because I couldn't get past first base.

Here's the candidate line from the script:

(outputName (string-append imageNameNoExt "-sel"))

..so you get a filename of MyGimpImageName-sel.png. What I want to do is create filenames called MyGimpImageName-sel-001.png, MyGimpImageName-sel-002.png etc.

An alternative would be to add an edit box to the dialog to allow you to specify the filename.

On a related subject, is it possible to set up a key binding to execute a script? If this could be done, I could roll a version of the script that skipped the dialog altogether and just used the last settings. In combination with the unique filename mod, this would speed up the job considerably.

You'll noties that the image is flat.. Is this something I can achieve using the perspective tool? If so, do I change the perspective of all the individual images and then merge them? Or do I merge them, and then change the perspective in sections?

AutoCad 3D :: Create Series Of Trays In Shape Of Letters - Unable To Sweep 1 Selected Object

Aug 14, 2013

I need to create a series of "trays" that are in the shape of letters. I am having some success with certain letters, but zero success with others.

I am creating these letters using a curve brought in from illustrator, and sweeping the profile that I want to use around the curve to create the outside.I am then using presspull to create the base of the tray.

However, sometimes the sweep command will simply say "unable to sweep 1 selected object" with no explanation as to why.

Sometimes I will get the shape that I want, but it is facing the wrong way, and I cannot fix it. Other times it will simply stall and then delete both the curve and the profile.

AutoCad :: Creating Series Of Dynamic Blocks In Order To Create Tabletop Conveyors For Plat Layout

Jul 21, 2010

I am currently creating a series of dynamic blocks in order to create tabletop conveyors fro plat layout. I am using AutoCAD 2009 and am currently having issues making the turning sections. I know this is very simple using AutoCAD 2010 as there are geometric constrains available.

The curved sections must be able to have the inside thickness adaptable, the wall thickness must remain 1/2" thick, and the corner sections must have a 30, 45, 60 and 90 degree radii on them (although allowing any angle would be ideal). I was going to use visibility states to achieve the different angles as this seemed the easiest way to do this.

Attached is the basic 90 degree corner with an inside width of 4.5" with leaders labeling the areas that must be adaptive.

AutoCAD Inventor :: Draw 2 Hemisphere Structures Which Have Hall And Pillar?

Nov 19, 2013

Now I am trying to draw 2 hemisphere structures which have a hall and a pillar (bumo) like in the appended file.

Even though I used 2 rectangular parallelepiped in that, I like to use hemisphere.

1) How can I divide a sphere into two parts?

2) How can I make them aprat to make a hall and  a pillar? I like to know how I can control them separately after separation.

3) Is there other way except 1) and 2) to make my model?

4) Is there a way to make one hemisphere? I think that I can use "draw sphere -> make workplane at the center of the sphere -> extrude cut half of the sphere".

Illustrator :: Any Way To Incrementally Scale Series Of Objects?

Aug 7, 2012

I have a series of triangles along a curved path in Illustrator CS6 (mac, if that makes a difference).  I want to make the triangles large as the approach the middle of the path, and smaller towards the ends.  The triangles' lower-most corner must remain locked to the path.  I've tried pattern brushes, but not only do they distort the triangles, but there's also no way to scale the triangles reliably (to my knowledge).

Illustrator Scripting :: Export JPG A Series Of Images From AI File

Dec 13, 2012

I'm using a Javascript that will export as JPG a series of images from an AI file (that part is working fine), then rename them (that part isn't working). Writing and troubleshooting with Extendscript.

Trying to eliminate as many possible places to go wrong, I came up with the following:

myfile = new File; myfile = myfile.openDlg();
var newName = "NEW.ai";
myfile.rename(newName);

When run targeting Illustrator, it does nothing.

When run targeting ExtendScript, for some reason this blasts the file into oblivion, never to be found again.

Illustrator :: Know If Selected Art Object Belongs To Series Of Blended Arts?

May 20, 2013

Just draw a rectangle and a circle, then give them different colors. Choose AI menu "Object | Blend | Make", before this step you could set "Specified steps" to an integer in "Blend Options...", now you get a series of blended arts. Using Direct Select Tool you can select the rectangle or circle you drawed at first.

how to know if the art object you selected is one part of the blended series? I looked into the document but cannot find a proper API to get the infomation in AIArtSuite.

Photoshop :: Semi-hexagonal Texture?

Jul 9, 2008

it's going to be a texture, made for a game, that's overlaid over a model's normal textures, semi-transparent, and it's supposed to represent structures and units being under construction. My task is this; a cloudy greenish texture that will tessellate, with a white or light grey pattern of circuitry. Because alien races are involved, the circuitry should have a hexagonal pattern.

My first undertaking was to make a hexagon pattern that would tile. Easy. Next, to make a cloudy green background. Heck, filters can do that.

I have a solid hex pattern, but the end result has to be is a pattern of wires that follows a hexagonal pattern. So I tried simply erasing parts of the pattern, leaving only wires. I tried making fractions of hex patterns to piece together. I tried making shapes to mask-out various parts of the hex pattern.

No matter what I do, I can't seem to find a way to do this that can be accomplished without tons of drudgery, and there isn't any way I know of to get photoshop to snap to 60 degree angles. I also had the idea of making one layer all the horizontal lines that were involved, another layer all the top-left to bottom-right diagonal lines and etc, to make it very easy to isolate and erase the ones I wanted; but I can't figure out any easy way to do that, either.

I have to make several other patterns of circuitry based on other nonstandard, 'alien-ish' designs, too. If I can find a way to expedite this, it'll expedite those other pieces of work, too. (Not to mention teach me something cool.)

So I bought a new MATROX M9120 Plus x1 card in hope it will work fine with Photoshop.
