Then I want to add a 15 degree rotation for each new image. The problem is that every time I select the rotate tool and click on the image to enter the value, the sphere is moved slightly.

Can this be achieved? Will you be able to guide me through the process?
I'm using the script export-selection.scm to create a series of PNG files from an existing image. It works fine but I find the fact that it saves the file to a name that it constructs (based on the .xcf file loaded, and whether it is saving a one layer or visible layers, etc) really slows me down, as I have to bounce between gimp and explorer to rename each output file after every save.
I looked at the source to see if I could tweak it so that the filename it created was unique, but I must have missed a crucial episode somewhere, because I couldn't get past first base.
Here's the candidate line from the script:
(outputName (string-append imageNameNoExt "-sel"))
..so you get a filename of MyGimpImageName-sel.png. What I want to do is create filenames called MyGimpImageName-sel-001.png, MyGimpImageName-sel-002.png etc.
An alternative would be to add an edit box to the dialog to allow you to specify the filename.
On a related subject, is it possible to set up a key binding to execute a script? If this could be done, I could roll a version of the script that skipped the dialog altogether and just used the last settings. In combination with the unique filename mod, this would speed up the job considerably.
I am trying to print a doc 60cm x 23cm but my printer will only accept A4 paper. I am happy to have this printed over a few sheets but even using the custom print options for paper and print sizes I am only able to print one section of the picture. How I can print a series from the picture so I can paste up afterwards?

They are all scrambled - do not honor import dates/sequence and have dates and file names all intermingled. It is really a screwed up mess. I haven't found a way to unscrew it! - Or tell me I get to live with it!
View 5 Replies View RelatedI need to create a series of "trays" that are in the shape of letters. I am having some success with certain letters, but zero success with others.
I am creating these letters using a curve brought in from illustrator, and sweeping the profile that I want to use around the curve to create the outside.I am then using presspull to create the base of the tray.
However, sometimes the sweep command will simply say "unable to sweep 1 selected object" with no explanation as to why.
Sometimes I will get the shape that I want, but it is facing the wrong way, and I cannot fix it. Other times it will simply stall and then delete both the curve and the profile.
I am currently creating a series of dynamic blocks in order to create tabletop conveyors fro plat layout. I am using AutoCAD 2009 and am currently having issues making the turning sections. I know this is very simple using AutoCAD 2010 as there are geometric constrains available.
The curved sections must be able to have the inside thickness adaptable, the wall thickness must remain 1/2" thick, and the corner sections must have a 30, 45, 60 and 90 degree radii on them (although allowing any angle would be ideal). I was going to use visibility states to achieve the different angles as this seemed the easiest way to do this.
Attached is the basic 90 degree corner with an inside width of 4.5" with leaders labeling the areas that must be adaptive.
I would like to try creating an animation like this ([URL] - originally made through Apple Keynote Animation).
a) Inform if Gimp is able to give me tools to create similar still drawings/images? Could other software as Inkscape be better to this kind of drawing ? (I am not familiarized with both yet).
b) If yes, any tutorial that approaches more directly this style of drawings/images?
c) From sequence of still images created in Gimp I intend to use video editing software (Sony Vegas) to animate them. Actually I don’t know whether it is the best way to animate the images.
how to create a vacuum sucking animation?
What I need to do is suck little strands of something I made into/thru a hollow a needle.
The idea is to have hand drawn characters (our actors) in many different poses, actions and with different expressions, just like in that video.
What I need is the way to easily and fast switch between different drawings. Some kind of a library where I can just click on a picture and it will change to that one.Drawings will be on a simple plane with alpha transparency.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI can see make frames from layers, but with a many layered psd file of which I only have 5 frames I want to see how they animate, how do I tell the animate palette to make frames from just the selected layers ?
Surely this has to be an option, there are always going to be layers during an artwork build that are options or earlier efforts etc that you may wish to revisit, to have the entire lot dumped into animate is a pain. Its not obvious which they are when in there, layer names don't appear.
I want to create a repeating, pixel art GIF animation. The basic idea is nyan cat swapped for a spaceship, in my usual video resolution. Now I made all the assets, and I thought I can use the star animation as a sub animation, so I can tell it to appear in random heights, move from right to left and start at a random frame, so I made a GIF just for that. But I fail to see any sort of controls that let me do what I was planned.

View 7 Replies View RelatedHow do I create an 16 color effect, when saving my gif animation (save for web and devices) it has an option to lower the number of colors from 256. I normally use the 8 or 16 colors as it gives a great effect to .gif images.
what you get is a Gothic type washed out effect, when you lower the number of colors, when saving a .gif . The overall aim is to have a .gif that starts at 16 colors and at the end turns into 256 colors. How can I achieve this effect.
I'm having some difficulty in deciding how to go about creating a title block for my drawings. I have attempted to create the title block with Document fields from the drawing properties custom properties tab, and creating the same fields with information from the Sheet / Sheet Set fields. Both title blocks used attributes inside the block to house the fields, and both were .dwt files.
Is there a way to take the properties from the .dwt drawing into a newly created drawing, or is there a way to link custom sheet set properties with a newly created sheet set? The main goal is to not have the user manually input multiple custom fields either in the drawing properties or the sheet set manager of the new drawing.
Can we have a better way to create “text” in the Inventor part drawings?
I almost create “text” in every part drawing in different view. I have to create a sketch first, than create a text and dimension the text so I can lock the text in position, otherwise when you move the view and the text will stay in different location.
I had been used “Solid works” for long times. When I need to create a text, just click that view and create a text and the text will stay with that view, whatever you move that view and the text move together.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI am using Autocad 2012. I need to make some 2D execution drawings from a 3D model. I tried to use the following commands: flatshot, flatten §ion plane. All of them are having bad results. From all this 3 commands the closer to my needs is the flatshot. But I am working with many layers which have different colors, so when I will generate the 2D views I need to see the same color as the layers have (each color is for a particular medium).
I am using this command without showing the obscured lines. When I am generating the isometric views with the flatshot I am seeing strange objects (UFO), is far away from the original model, you can see in the attachment.
It is possible to generate somehow 2D views (front views&isometric views) seeing the color which every element has, and it is possible to correct somehow those ugly isometric views ( the guys from autocad should do something with this, because when I am generating a isometric view the 2d drawing that I received is completely different from the 3D model !).
I want to make the drawings using the 2D views, because the 3D Models are very big (50-60MB) and it is very hard to work with them!

What I bring to the software is my background in studio arts 2D and 3D. Photography is a tool to support both of these activities. Over the years that skill has developed and I have many great photos. The photos make me a little nuts now that I focus on digital. In digitals photos I easily have over 60,000 photos. I have some experience with Photoshop. I won’t say I am a proficient but will say I have good skills in it. I created my first logo in Photoshop. Of course it is not vector and I know it should be vector. I did it at no charge for a nonprofit. I would still like to create a vector form of the logo. Awhile back I purchased a book titled “Illustrator CS5 on demand”. It breaks it down in a way that Illustrator is less intimidating. It has renewed my interest in Illustrator. How do I more effectively merge all of these tools and skills? How do I bring what I know to Illustrator’s table? I know there are great possibilities here if I can learn to build vector graphics.
Is it possible to have the production tool for cross sections create separate sheet drawings, rather than creating multiple sheet layouts in one drawing?
View 3 Replies View RelatedI have a csv file that has the drawing names and their layout names listed in columns A and B. Before I begin a project, I have to create the Sheet List (in Excel) and the csv file. The csv file is needed because I have a lisp routine that reads the csv and updates all my Title Block attributes in all my drawings. (VERY sweet program) What I'm wanting to do, is create new layouts (using my dwt) based on the information in the csv file. So, when I start a new project all I need to do is create the base drawing files first. Then, in my csv file I've got those drawing names listed in Column A and their corresponding sheet titles (Layout names) in Column B. I run the lisp and it reads the csv and creates layouts in all those base drawings and naming the layouts with the sheet titles from column B.
Column A Column B
DRAWINGS SHEET TITLES
drawing1.dwg A100
drawing1.dwg A101
drawing"n".dwg "n"500
Etc, etc.
I'm needing a way to automate creating hundreds of layouts at once. (very time consuming). So the lisp has to be able to read a csv (or Excel--doesn't really matter) and create new layouts (using my dwt) in as many drawing files represented in column A. [and filtered so it doesn't create duplicates so I can run the routine at a later date when new sheets are added to the drawings] Captcha?
