I loaded Photoshop 10 and then imported/moved my catalogs from Photoshop 6. They are all scrambled - do not honor import dates/sequence and have dates and file names all intermingled. It is really a screwed up mess. I haven't found a way to unscrew it! - Or tell me I get to live with it!

View 1 Replies View RelatedOld PC Windows XP with PSE8. New PC Windows 8 with PSE11.I did a backup and restore operation. After the restore, there was a large list of files that could not be restored. I also noticed that there were a large number of thumbnails with a question mark attached.
I did a reconnect using FindAll missing files. Instead of placing the recovered files in their original path and folder location, they ended up in an entirely different path in the Folders View. I tried to drag the folders back to their original location, but got the message: folder with that name already exists at the requested location, even though it wasn't visible. In addition some of the folders involved were no longer visible in either path structure.
I checked in the My Folders View, and it showed that the folders involved in the reconnect were still intact. I opened one or two and found they contained the original missing images.How can I get the folders and their images back to their correct places in the original path structure?
Just upgraded from PSE9 to PSE12 and in the media browser the dates and star ratings are not displayed. How can I get them back?

View 4 Replies View RelatedI was trying to create a simple slideshow with sound when first my computer warned of low memory (something that doesn't seem plausible), and then Photoshop Elements 9 and the associated organizer crashed. When I brought it back, several photos were "grayed out" and my organizer is completely frozen. The error suggests that there are corrupt files. I tried to follow the instructions on the website, but cannot find any sort of Catalog menu or means of changing anything in the catalog or organizer as indicated in the troubleshooting and restoration instructions.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a PhotoShop Elements with >12,000 images. I have keywords assigned and some are rated.
My computer has gone from WinXP to Win7. I have also had several different hard drive upgrades.
I currently have C:, D:, E: as available hard drives and F: and G: as Optical drives.
When I import, it has the correct number of photos, but thinks that everything is on F:. I believe that the E: drive used to be a different volume number previously.
I can manually refind every folder, but that will be very time consuming as I have around 100 folders.
Is there some way to say "Use E: instead of F:"

The existing work around seems to be for importing a catalog when one machine has both programs, but I don't think Elements 8 will run on Windows 8. The 'import catalog from Elements 8' option isn't showing in LR4 - presumably because it didn't see the catalog on install. The catalog is on a shared drive accessible to both machines...

It says that it did do it, but with errors...and now when I open Lightroom, all my pictures just show up as grey squares. New user of autocad map 3d. My company has tasked me with figuring out how to plot updates (new and modified cell towers) that come to us as lat/long coordinates on a aeronautical sectional map from the FAA's website.
The sectional maps come to us as GeoTiffs at 1:500,000 scale. We could plot these out by hand but I am trying to make the process a lot faster by using Map3d. My questions are:
1- How do i import the geotiffs keeping the right scale, projection, etc.
2-How do i insert a series of points at the same time
3- Can i output the file as a tiff when im done?
I just noticed yesterday that when I have RAW (DNG) files in my LR5.2 library, I can select the correct lens profile to apply. When I take three of those files and merge them together in Photomatix Pro they come back as a single TIFF file. Now LR only has one lens profile available, and it is the wrong one.
This is happening with my Sony NEX-7 and Tamron 18-200mm f/3.5-6.3 XR DI-III VC. With the RAW files, I have a list of Tamron lenses from which to choose, and the correct one is available. For the merged TIFF file, however, only a single Tamron lens is available for selection, and it is not the lens I used.
How do I export all the photos I imported back to their original folder just as they were, they haven't been modified, adjusted etc. I imported them by mistake.

Now I am missing plug ins, user presets in develop module, paper pre-sets in printer module. Why isn't everything imported? Why aren't all default settings imported? Why do I need to set up the layout etc. again. Horrible upgrade! I was on line with Adobe tech support. They say they know the problem, try back in a few days! I spent $79 to upgrade andthe product doesn't work!

The images are on my computer but not showing up in a folder in the LR4 catalog...how do I get them into the catalog? The catalog is named My Catalog 2 is located at C:ProgramDataAdobeElements OrganizerCatalogsMy Catalog 2. It is the only catalog I use and is the one that opens up when I launch Organizer. But, for the life of me, I can't get it to show up in the Catalog Manager. The only catalog that shows up is the original catalog which is at a different location and was created when I installed PSE11 on my new computer (Thinkpad W530, Windows 8). I've tried the Custom Location option and browsing to the location, but still no dice. This catalog has thousands of pictures and was converted from my previous PSE6 catalog. How do I get the Catalog Manager to find my current active catalog?
I'm using LR4 with a Canon camera setup (Wind 7 Ultimate). I've got the auto import setting all configured with an incoming folder and destination. The app recognizes when an image is put in incoming folder and in fact it moves it to the destination folder. What is really annoying is that it leaves me at the import settings dialog and then I have to make all these choices as I would if I were manually importing.
Shouldn't the images be places in the desination folder and some view of that image be displayed in LR? It could be the folder view or ideally I want to see the last image imported at 1:1 size so I can review it and see if I want to take another shot? Maybe there is some flag I've got set incorrectly.
I am trying to print a doc 60cm x 23cm but my printer will only accept A4 paper. I am happy to have this printed over a few sheets but even using the custom print options for paper and print sizes I am only able to print one section of the picture. How I can print a series from the picture so I can paste up afterwards?
