I have a series of very basic closed paths, doodles which intersect on another. I'd like to remove part of the intersection so that it'll appear that there's a whole devided into doodles, with no double lines. I know it might be simple but I can try here until the end of time...

Not by 'joining paths' (as that joins them from the ends); I just want to join two paths in such a way that an anchor point is crated at the point where they intersect. That's how it works in Flash, but I can't figure it out in AI. I created an image to clarify what I'm trying to achieve.

View 5 Replies View RelatedThis is something I SHOULD be able to figure out, but for some reason, I'm having trouble. I'm designing a t-shirt. It can only have 4 colors. The "5th color" is actually the color of the shirt itself. So I have waves with a dolphin over them (covering them, not above them). The dolphin is outlined in one of the 4 colors, but I want the dolphin itself to be the color of the t-shirt (i.e., no color at all - or see-through, so it is actually the color of the shirt). How do I remove the color of the dolphin for the printer? If it was just the dolphin over a solid color, I could do that. But since it's over many colors (the waves)
PS I'm using CS4 on an iMac.
i want to have multiple offsetoutlines on a closed or non-closed path. with "offset path" i can make only one additional outline but i need multiple?

I am trying to create an intersection design using the Intersection Tools in C3D 2012. I followed the steps in the tutorials, created a corridor on the major road, splitted the regions, created the intersection and added it to the major road corridor, and connect the regions with the intersection portion.
I used the same assembly throughout the design just for simplicity, however, i notice that there are gaps of curb between the curb return section and the through section (as outline in red rectangles).
Using XP with PS CS4.
I am going to attach an image so that I can illustratate what I am trying to achieve here..
You should see a white hose like object against a gray background. I cannot show the whole image, let's just say that above and below it, it gets complicated, meaning not just a plain gray background and the hose isn't all that straight.
I do have the white part as a path, but what I am looking to do is to thin the white part. I can assume you can't go wrong with the clone tool, but I was wondering if there was something better as I do not have a steady hand with the mouse and I do have a few of these images on hand to edit.
I'll post up the part of the image , within the image there is a Picture frame and im just looking to remove it so that it looks like a clear wall.

Is there a tutorial for cutting out part of a photo and using it in another photo. I have seen one on youtube but it is not detailed enough. It dosen't fully explain how to add your cut out part of a photo to a new photo. That is, how do i put the cut out part of a photo on top of a new background?

I want to make the triangles large as the approach the middle of the path, and smaller towards the ends. The triangles' lower-most corner must remain locked to the path. I've tried pattern brushes, but not only do they distort the triangles, but there's also no way to scale the triangles reliably (to my knowledge).

I am using solidworks, creating a sheet, all line thicknesses are changed to 0.05mm and then exporting the sheet as .AI. Every drawing I create is saved using identical settings.Out of say 10 only 3 of them are okay and can be edited as vectors. The rest seem to turn themselves into a series of images.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI'm using a Javascript that will export as JPG a series of images from an AI file (that part is working fine), then rename them (that part isn't working). Writing and troubleshooting with Extendscript.
Trying to eliminate as many possible places to go wrong, I came up with the following:

When run targeting Illustrator, it does nothing.
When run targeting ExtendScript, for some reason this blasts the file into oblivion, never to be found again.
Image below, what I want to do is remove the parts of the red logo below the black line. normally I would use the virtual segment delete tool. this is working with the red outer line, but not on the letters. rather than removing the part of the letter below the line, it is removing the whole letter. Also it is leaving a square edge on the line, and not removing it on an angle.

I would like to animate a serie of objects I made with the blend tool in Illustrator. It is an object that transforms into another one, I am trying to put this into a small animation like a gif.

I'm trying to vault of one my parts and it refuses to upload. It's refusing to upload because the part keeps refering to a certain bitmap image. I have removed the reference (from the styles library) to the bitmap image but it's still calling for it to be uploaded!
How can I find out why this part still calls for this bitmap image? Why is it still making reference to it even after I have deleted the style which uses it?
I have a dog bone shaped sheet metal part and each end is folded up 45 degrees to create Z shaped part, the origonal shape was done in a different program and imported as a dxf, it is curvy and no straight sides, the folds were done as fold from a sketch line.
I now want to take a section out of the middle bit, i can cut a bit out but how do i rejoin them?I was hoping to move bodies but i can't select a sing bit it only selects the hole thing even though it is in two bits?

View 4 Replies View RelatedI have used PEDIT to join multiple polylines, which now appear as polylines. But when I use QSELECT to show all open (non-closed) section, one polyline still shows up as open.
I've attached the file I'm working on. The polyline in question is the green outline on the object on the right.
Is it possible to find intersection poit of the anchor point and any point on path?
Like on a picture, there are an anchor poit from a line, which intersects arc path, and I need to find intersection poit on the arc (can be line) path. Thus I can do further processing for arc after intersection - change position, set color etc.
I suppose I need to divide that arc path and that will be the best way, but all I need for this moment extract point before intersection and after and process in our custom preview. Is there way to find this intersection?
