Is there a way to "disable" the display of the viewport "outline" so that it is not seen when looking at the paper space tab on a computer screen? Kind of like how images have frames but you can "hide" them.
View 4 RepliesWhy my viewport is moving to the right when I print it in batchplot.
I tested by printing the outline of the vport and opening the resulting PDF in a PDF viewer.
The vport is exactly the same dimension but is about .5 inch off to the right.
Another user has created a bunch of sketches and somehow has set the drawing up where all the viewport and our title block are displayed in white. model space everything is fine and is as it should be.

Drawings are only plotting the first viewport inserted into paperspace, and will only plot live paperspace work if there are no viewports at all... this is a new problem, but has hit an entire set of drawings!

View 9 Replies View RelatedI am currently running map 3d 2012 and my co-worker is running 2013. When she plots in paperspace, there is text that gets plotted that is outside of her viewport. When I open up the drawing on my computer, it plots perfectly. I attached a clip of it, the thick black is our drawing border, the viewport is where the color stops.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI brought a normal 4 sided viewport into my layout, but needed to clip and make a viewport with 6 sides. I have also tried to redraw this by using a polygonal viewport. When I go to plot the page, parts or all of the viewport boundaries are on. It doesn't matter if I go to layer control and turn the layer off or freeze or select the non-plotting icon.
View 8 Replies View RelatedFurther to my earlier topic for getting the viewport scale which has been nicely solved, I am looking for a way to get one of the corners of the viewport outline 'drawn' in modelspace so that I can add the name of the spcific layout Tab to which it relates in a location that suits the drawn outline.
The code that I am adapting came from the thread titled Outline projection all viewports to model..The routine appears to pick up the corners of the viewport in paperspace and tranform/translate them to modelspace co-ordinates.

Trying to get blocks to plot transparent for only 1 viewport. Using viewport transparency works for all objects in applicable layer except blocks that have been created using "0" layer. I cannot use transparency by block since the blocks must show in other layouts without transparency. Also cannot re-create blocks using different layer since the source file is kept on network for all to use. Is there a way to plot blocks with the vp transparency of its current layer despite having created the block in another layer?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have a drawing which contains 17 layouts in paperspace. When I go to plot all drawings using the sheetset manager its only plots out what is in paperspace. I.e the titleblock and nothing in the viewports, i.e model space.
View 2 Replies View RelatedIn one of the xref’s there is a linetype that I’m having trouble with (actually I’m not sure if it’s the linetype or a setvar that’s the problem). The line is a polyline. Linetype generation is turned on. LTscale is set correctly. The line is set to display the linetype by layer…not entity. Line weight is set to default. It has a global width of 0.333. Here’s the problem….In the main drawing, I have a layout which has leaders in paper space pointing to the line in the xref. They are touching the line where I want them. THEN…when I print the page….the leaders are no longer pointing to the line. They (the leaders) display correctly but can’t be printed as seen. Not to a PDF, not to a printed page. See below:

UPDATE: It looks like the problem is with the drawing that the xref is attached to....not the xref!
I've been working in C3D for about 5 yrs now, and one thing that drives me absolutely nuts about it is how to get the correct layers to display when plotting different sheets out of the same drawing, regardless of the layer state of my model. I worked in Terramodel for about 5 years prior to coming back to AutoCAD and became spoiled by the ease with which layers displayed on different sheets in the same drawing. You assigned a layer state to the viewport and that viewport always plotted that way.
It didn't matter what layers were on or off, frozen or thawed in the model view, once you jumped over to the sheet it always looked the same once you set it up. In C3D I've tried viewport overrides, jumping into the viewport and setting the layers then saving the layer state... All sorts of different approaches, but I've never found anything that really works. My projects are typically small enough that I have all of my sheets in the same drawing but want different layer settings on different sheets.
After closing and reopening my command prompt, I find that it is now at the bottom left of the screen and no longer part of the main graphics window. How can I get it to display at the bottom of the main display?

I'm having trouble controlling the display of FDO objects from an SDF file in the same way though.
I'm having an issue with viewports in a drawing not displaying the color of the objects in model space. All of the objects are set to display bylayer, and all of the viewport overrides in the drawing are off. Still, the objects will only display as either white or grey through the viewport, even though the colors show up fine in model space. I've also tried making a new viewport and it also displays everything as either white or gray, so I'm thinking it might be some kind of system variable that I don't know about.

View 5 Replies View RelatedI have and array that looks fine in model space but when viewed in a viewport from paperspace, sections of the array look like they are wiped out. Going back to model space everything looks fine. The only way I can get it to fill in is to delete the viewport and create another one. It's then fine for awhile but before long, areas are missing again. I've redone the viewport three times and it's starting to drive me nuts.

View 2 Replies View Related about a Volume Table style, where I have correctly showing in Model Space and is "Split" in the Table Properties. This is a "Total Volume Table" and is Dynamic.
Just Fine in Model Space... yet is showing within a Viewport (typ. plan sheet) that each Split is simply Staked ontop of each other ?
Thought I (we) came across this a few years ago... yet no issues latetly till now, and also mainly first time I've likely split the Table in R2012 (currently used).
Have maintaining View Orientation "true", yet still nothing.....

Is there anyway of plotting a cad drawing from the model view screen so that certain linescales show? At the moment when I plot it will show hatched items without the outlines.

How do I achieve this?
I am trying to display materials "realisticly" in the viewport and for some reason can't do it with the nitrous driver : all materials display as black and white checkers. It does work with the Direct3D driver.
The two images below show you the problem : the blue one is the correct material as displayed using Direct3D (it has a noise bump map applied to it), the black and white is what nitrous displays.
My display settings are :
- for direct3D, "hardware shading" for the viewport and in the material editor
- for nitrous, "realistic shading" for the viewport and in the material editor. With or without map doesn't make a difference.
when more generally this checker is displayed instead of the material ?
ps. By the way I couldn't understand the difference between 'area' and 'forums' at [URL]......
Any singulat anchor points dont't display in outline mode until they will select. In previos versions they displayed as cross. How to fix it?
View 6 Replies View RelatedI've been using CTB files to manage line colors, thicknesses etc - assigning a specific color number to a line color / thickness etc.
This results in great looking plots, but aren't the colors that appear on-screen.
I was wondering how can I make it look exactly like what you'll get but retain the automation/functionality of CTB files - rather than manually stuffing around with changing line weights/colors etc.
I am finding the layer combo control in 2010 an annoyance. The drop down box does not access as many layers as did the version in 2009, and I find myself continually searching through the drop down box to reference a particular layer. How to rectify to have it similar to 2009?

View 2 Replies View RelatedI do not need a solid fill text, only a black outline. Is there an easy way to do this without going into MS Word (which I still don't fully understand). I have also tried using the TXTEXP command. This does the job, however, I am left with small lines that I need to clean up. This is pain because I will be needing to use outlined text for a variety of things. I would relly prefer a text style that is only an outline, is this possible?
