View 3 RepliesDrawings are only plotting the first viewport inserted into paperspace, and will only plot live paperspace work if there are no viewports at all... this is a new problem, but has hit an entire set of drawings!
View 1 Replies View RelatedI am curious what would cause my viewport to print as if it is filled with solid hatch? I haven't changed any settings for the viewport and even recreated it from scratch. In my print preview it shows it will print as it looks on the screen, however when it actually prints, it's filled in solid.

View 9 Replies View RelatedI am currently running map 3d 2012 and my co-worker is running 2013. When she plots in paperspace, there is text that gets plotted that is outside of her viewport. When I open up the drawing on my computer, it plots perfectly. I attached a clip of it, the thick black is our drawing border, the viewport is where the color stops.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI brought a normal 4 sided viewport into my layout, but needed to clip and make a viewport with 6 sides. I have also tried to redraw this by using a polygonal viewport. When I go to plot the page, parts or all of the viewport boundaries are on. It doesn't matter if I go to layer control and turn the layer off or freeze or select the non-plotting icon.

I tested by printing the outline of the vport and opening the resulting PDF in a PDF viewer.
The vport is exactly the same dimension but is about .5 inch off to the right.
Trying to get blocks to plot transparent for only 1 viewport. Using viewport transparency works for all objects in applicable layer except blocks that have been created using "0" layer. I cannot use transparency by block since the blocks must show in other layouts without transparency. Also cannot re-create blocks using different layer since the source file is kept on network for all to use. Is there a way to plot blocks with the vp transparency of its current layer despite having created the block in another layer?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have a drawing which contains 17 layouts in paperspace. When I go to plot all drawings using the sheetset manager its only plots out what is in paperspace. I.e the titleblock and nothing in the viewports, i.e model space.
View 2 Replies View RelatedIs there a way to "disable" the display of the viewport "outline" so that it is not seen when looking at the paper space tab on a computer screen? Kind of like how images have frames but you can "hide" them.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI'm putting together an elevation where I want to be able to pdf the drawing in color but I'm having trouble getting the colors to plot. For instance I'm using color 37 and in the plot style table editor the color is set to 37, pen # is "automatic" and virtual pen # is "37". When I plot to a pdf that color doesn't even show on the plot. What am I missing here?

•Need to plot entire drawing in Greyscale, with that in mind I need to select X number of objects in the drawing to plot in Color. So in the end I will have a complete drawing in greyscale and a selection of objects in color so they stand out.
•Now, I know I can do this through the .ctb file but I have many colors / layers and many objects so this will take a long time to do.
•Is there an app or override option I can use to do this?
I would like to know if it is possible to plot one layer in color, while all the others plot in black.
I know it is possible to plot a drawing in which all or most of the colors plot in black while plotting one particular color in its actual color. This is done by adjusting your pen settings in that they are all set to black except for a designated color to actually plot at that color.
We have a client that would like a layer or two in color and everything else in black. If you could plot those particular colors in actual color my problem would be solved. However, the color of those layers in question are shared by other layers that need to be in black. I can change the color of those layers to a unique color and set the pen settings to print that color in color, but I wanted to know if you could simply plot a designated layer (or more) in color.
I am trying to plot a multi-colored layout in monochrome. I have gone through the page setup manager and set my style to monochrome. My prints come out in color. I have made my own propety and listed the print to be made in black only. Is there another setting that I need to setup differently to print in Black & White?
View 9 Replies View RelatedI am trying to simply print my model as it appears on the screen, but when I go to plot it shows my preview either in wireframe or as a shadow. I have tried all of the different view types (realistic, conceptual, etc.) but none of them print it as shown on the screen. Is there something I can do to plot it as is?

My question is the logos in the title block are hand drawn dwg logos. My client does not like the pdf file because the ITC logo text changes color and looks grainy or washed out. It is not crisp and clean. This is VERY IMPORTANT to him. Why do they change so as in the colors of the ITC logo change to a light blue not the 178 I set it at in AutoCad. when I plot a pdf the file. When plotting I use the DWG to PDF option.
I am working on drawings in which some of the text is in yellow which is great on a black background. After printing the yellow becomes very hard to see on white paper. I know I know I could change the color of the layer before plotting but I was hoping for a seamless way of doing it. Is there a way to display colors in yellow and plot in blue similar to white/black?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI'm new to Map 3D and not to Civil 3D. I connected to a roads and streams shp file from a ArcGIS directory. Everything came in great and I even was able to get everything named all at once from the attibute directory. The problem is that the features seem to only plot in the colors that I see them as. If I change them all to black, then I see can't see them at all. I have been spening the past 3 hours trying to get them to jus plot black. We also have to stick with stb plot styles in our department.

View 1 Replies View RelatedWhen I plot to paper from TV2012, I'm good with monochrome - black lines, white background - awesome.
I would *like*, however, to plot a few things to PDF, but retain the view I have on my display - I.E., lines/labels of various colors and a BLACK background. I've been poking around for a bit, and if there's a way to make that setting, I'm no finding it. Everything I try has gotten me colored lines/labels on a white background.
I cannot get the layer color to change in a specific viewport. The property manager shows the new color I have selected, but the color does not change in my viewport.
View 7 Replies View RelatedI'm having an issue with viewports in a drawing not displaying the color of the objects in model space. All of the objects are set to display bylayer, and all of the viewport overrides in the drawing are off. Still, the objects will only display as either white or grey through the viewport, even though the colors show up fine in model space. I've also tried making a new viewport and it also displays everything as either white or gray, so I'm thinking it might be some kind of system variable that I don't know about.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI am working on piping plan. I have four differents pipes on same layer. I would like to change color of one pipe in active viewport and keep the layer color unchanged in same Viewport. I would like to keep the layer color unchanged for model space or other viewports.
Is there any way to change the property of an object in active viewport?
I have a drawing with polylines that are set to color 6 in model space and are also set to color bylayer.
When I go to my layout and click inside my viewport and pull up layer manager and change the viewport color for that layer to color 12, only parts of the polylines change to the color 12 while other parts remain color 6.
If while I'm in the viewport I change the model color as well to color 12, then all the polylines turn to color 12.This is a problem though, because in some layouts I what that layer to be color 6, and in others I want it to be color 12, or 4 or 5 or whatever.
I could not match this situation even if I wanted to where you draw a line, and half of it is one color while the other half is another color.why the viewport color overrides are behaving like this.
I need to change the color of a layer in one of my viewports, which I set using the layer manager. That change doesn't show up in the viewport however.

View 7 Replies View RelatedI'm having a very annoying problem where the color and lineweight of my alignment in a viewport is not what it's set to be. I have an alignment with a style that sets all the linework components to a layer named C-STRM-CNTR-N, the color is set to BYLAYER, the linetype set to Continuous, and lineweight set to .80mm (see style_and_layer_screenshots.png). The layer C-STRM-CNTR-N has Cyan as the color, which shows in the Alignment Style dialog box (see style_and_layer_screenshots.png). In the model space everything looks fine (see c3d_model_space_screenshot.png). But in my layout, the alignment is a different color and lineweight (see c3d_layout_screenshot.png).
At first I thought maybe the alignment wasn't on the correct layer, but I checked and it's set correctly. Then I checked to see if the layer C-STRM-CNTR-N had a different color set for the viewport through the layer manager, but it's set to Cyan just like it's supposed to be. I went to the model space and noticed the color is correct. Frustrated and at a loss, I closed C3D, then reopened it and the problem is still there.
Why I can't change the lineweight nor the color of the alignment in this viewport? If I change either of those two settings in the Alignment Style Dialog box nothing changes, but the linetype does change.

I'm attempting to plot a drawing with a 3d shape and a title block around it. I would like for the occluded lines to not be drawn therefore I'm using the hidden visual style and set shade plot to hidden as well.
My problem arises from the quality of the plot to PDF versus the quality coming out of a printer. It is just a 8.5x11 page. The pdf comes out with horrible anti-aliasing and jagged lines, whereas the print is entirely smooth. Is there something simple I'm missing? It would be even better to find a way to make the plot to PDF come out in vector format! I know it is possible to show the layers and have them vectorized in a PDF... How is this done?
