May 8, 2013Iam just converting back to AutoCAD from microstation.
I am trying to change the colour of a layer in my viewport. Using the layer manager i can do this but i can not get the actual item to change colour. I have checked the vplayermode is 1 and searched around but no luck !!

Sep 13, 2013I have a drawing with polylines that are set to color 6 in model space and are also set to color bylayer.
When I go to my layout and click inside my viewport and pull up layer manager and change the viewport color for that layer to color 12, only parts of the polylines change to the color 12 while other parts remain color 6.
If while I'm in the viewport I change the model color as well to color 12, then all the polylines turn to color 12.This is a problem though, because in some layouts I what that layer to be color 6, and in others I want it to be color 12, or 4 or 5 or whatever.
I could not match this situation even if I wanted to where you draw a line, and half of it is one color while the other half is another color.why the viewport color overrides are behaving like this.

Feb 15, 2013Trying to change the color of a layer in a viewport (different than the default layer color (i.e. model layer color)). Objects are set to bylayer. Changing the VP color in the layer dialog brings up the color dialog, select a different color, click OK and the VP Color DOESN"T change in the layer dialog. It stays at its previous color. Occurs on several machines.

Aug 12, 2005layer manager not keeping your color selection the first time when you attempt to change the color of a layer? I have not repeated the experience enough to know the particular situation under which this happens but the result is the same. I open layer manager, click the color swatch to bring up the color selector and select a color, select ok and ok. When I look at the layers color it did not change. It seems to happen most on newly created layers.

Jan 15, 2013I am not able to change the color of a layer in one of my drawing files. When I make a new layer in the drawing file it is the same color as the layer above it (as it should be) but I am unable to change the color in the new layer either.
I can change colors in other drawing files on this computer. The color of a layer can be changed if I open the drawing file on another computer.
If the drawing is "save as" to a new file name and the new drawing is opened, it still will not change the color of a layer.
If the drawing is "save as" on the computer that will allow the color to be change and opened on this computer it will not allow the color of the layer to be changed.

The firm I'm currently working for uses gray-scale B sided printers only. Jan 24, 2012I have a library that has a primary folder with 11 subfolders. If the LISP can go through all the subfolders, that would be great. But, if it cannot, I can work with going into each subfolder and running the routine. There are over 12,000 files and I don't have the time to open each one and change the color.
Here's what I need the LISP to do:
open the drawing
select everything
change the color to "bylayer"
save
close
open next drawing in folder and repeat
Once it gets to the end of the folder it can stop.
