Mar 6, 2013I'm looking to find a way to change layer properties by viewport. I know how to freeze/thaw layer by viewport but not changing their properties. I'm using VB .Net.

View 3 RepliesTypically when setting up a viewport in paper space I can change the viewport type at the bottom of the properties dialog box. In 2013 the option is available, but it will always snap back to undefined. I'm sure it is a setting somewhere.

I am trying to change the colour of a layer in my viewport. Using the layer manager i can do this but i can not get the actual item to change colour. I have checked the vplayermode is 1 and searched around but no luck !!
How to change the VP (viewport) color of a layer by script or if its even possible.
View 7 Replies View RelatedWalls are being created on layer A-Wall, in color Cyan, Lineweight .020, etc. I'd like to edit those layer properties. There must be a matrix somewhere that shows a list of all of the Architectural Objects, the layer that each object will be created on, and the properties of those layers. Where in ACA2008 have they hidden this top-secret matrix? I've accessed Layer Key Styles via about 6 different routes, and nowhere do I find a list of Objects. I see that I could define an override for every component of a Wall object in the Style Manager / Display Properties, but it sure would be easier to just change the layer color once, wherever that's defined. There is only one Layer Key Style accessible through Style Manager, and layer A-Wall doesn't appear in that manager- layers A-Wall-Abov, A-Wall-Blow, etc appear, but not A-Wall. Neither does layer A-Glaz, which is where Window objects are placed.
How does a Wall object know to place itself on layer A-Wall, and where are the properties of layer A-Wall defined?
Is there a tool out there that will allow me to pick an object and change it's layer properties?

Normally in 2002 Lt you can edit the scale properties in a layout viewport, but this is not available when I view the properties of the inserted polyline layout viewport. is there a way of changing the scale in either AutoCAD 2002LT or AutoCAD 2000 (full version)of this polyling layout viewport?

View 3 Replies View RelatedWhen I create a shape in Photoshop CS6, it brings up a nice panel of options - allowing me to change radius, stroke style, colour etc. However, once this shape has been placed in the Photoshop document, I am not able to edit it, without creating a new shape.
I cannot change any of the options. Sure, I can select it and change the size - but how would I change the shape stroke colour and style, as well as the radius of the curves? Is there an option or panel which I need to activate to get back to this menu for the current shape?
Here the shape options are visibleHowever, once I click off the shape - they dissapear and I can no longer get them back.
How would I get the shape options back for this shape, without creating a new layer and shape? As with the way it is now, I have to get things like the stroke colour and radius right the first time - and I like to experiment with my options.
I am building a program in visual basic to select certain layers and change their color to outline a certain path on a layer diagram. I need to program a clear button that sets all of the layer colors back to color 7 as efficiently as possible

I was trying to figure out a way to select all of the text in the selected layers and export them to excel to build an effected equipment list. )I'm not sure if this is even possible)
We have just upgraded to 2012 map 3d and now every time I open a drawing whether or not in the sheet set manager or straight from the file location, the layer properties manager opens with it. Is there a way to make it not open every time a drawing is opened?

Run into an issue in AutoCAD Map 3D 2012 when multiple raster images (in this case 66 ortho images) are attached as data connections, you cannot see New Layers when you create them in the default Layer Properties Manager?
I have found using the Classic Layer Properties Manager is a work around.
It doesn’t seem to matter if the ortho images are connected individually or grouped as a single layer.
I'm running Map 3D with SP2 applied.
I have a master drawing with multiple xrefed building sketches. Looking at the model space on the "master" I can see all the room identities. However, if I go to the sheets that I have created and look at the view ports. The room identities are not there. The layer is called A-Room-Iden and it is on and not frozen...

View 1 Replies View RelatedIf you have more than one PDF overlay, you might put them on separate layers. Generally speaking in this case, the PDF extents overlap so when i plot different sheets, I would want only a single PDF to be visible.
So, my first thought was to freeze the layers of unwanted PDFs in the viewport. Except, once i did that, nothing happened. So, i guess i have to manually freeze the layer when plotting each sheet? I then can't publish the layouts as the appropriate PDF's won't be visible.
All of a sudden this morning clicking Layer Properties Manager gives my acadlt07 a fatal error. (unhandled e06d7363h Exception at 75509673h).

i have recently upgraded from 08' LT to 12'LT and i have an intermittent issue with the Layer properties box.sometimes when i open the layers list and want to change layer name, color, linetype etc it will discard all changes when i close the box and the command line will show something like this
Command: _layer
Command:
Unknown command "-LAYER". Press F1 for help.
the Layer box opens and works as normal but makes no changes to the drawing.if i reopen the layer prop box it will then work, it seems to be completely at random whether it works or not.
When I load a dwg file, i set all invisible layers to visible! The layer properties has been set to visible, but the entities on those invisible layers still can't see. After that I change the layout, just change the 'model' to 'layout1' Then change back to 'model' . All entities is visible!

When I create a new layer and in the same process change the color and linetype it looks like it takes in the layer dialogs box but when you use the layer the properties do not take. I have to re-initiate the layer command and then the layer properties are not what I set them to. Once I re set them at this stage it holds the layer. I've attached 3 images.
1. Showing two lines and layer dialogs box on two new layers (objects look the same)
2. Showing dialogs box after reinitializing layer command (objects still the same)
3. Showing dialogs box and lines after changing layer properties (now objects are holding set properties.

View 9 Replies View RelatedWe have changed the color, line weight and description of specific layers. We used to use Layer state to update the layers, now we use the design center.
Changes made in Example 1. Example 2 has the wrong layers - so Design center is open, layers from Example 1 are dragged and dropped into Example 2.
Layers still wrong.
