AutoCAD 2010 :: Viewport Color Override Not Working
Aug 11, 2011I need to change the color of a layer in one of my viewports, which I set using the layer manager. That change doesn't show up in the viewport however.
View 9 RepliesI need to change the color of a layer in one of my viewports, which I set using the layer manager. That change doesn't show up in the viewport however.
View 9 RepliesI have a drawing with polylines that are set to color 6 in model space and are also set to color bylayer.
When I go to my layout and click inside my viewport and pull up layer manager and change the viewport color for that layer to color 12, only parts of the polylines change to the color 12 while other parts remain color 6.
If while I'm in the viewport I change the model color as well to color 12, then all the polylines turn to color 12.This is a problem though, because in some layouts I what that layer to be color 6, and in others I want it to be color 12, or 4 or 5 or whatever.
I could not match this situation even if I wanted to where you draw a line, and half of it is one color while the other half is another color.why the viewport color overrides are behaving like this.
I have an xref in my drawing. I am trying to use a VP override to make a layer plot with a lighter lineweight. I have changed the layer to number 9 (set to plot light) in the viewport and the layer changes color. When plotting the layer does not plot with the correct lineweight. The object color on the layer is set to bylayer. Visretain is set to "1" What is wrong? Why isn't the layer plotting correctly?
View 9 Replies View RelatedI am still unable to assign a viewport color override to a 3D solid xreffed into the current drawing. Is there a fix yet? The override color shows in the vieport but when executing a "hide" or plotting the object reverts to it's original color. It would seem to be a large enough "bug" to warrant a hotfix

I'm using Sheet Set Manager in Autocad 2011. I'm using 'page setup override', and as plot area 'print extents'. So far, so good. Until someone forgets something outside the title block, and the extents feature is not good anymore (several people working in the same projects).
So, I decide to use as plot area 'Layout' instead, typing the X & Y to determine the area to be plotted.
Now, the setup "override" doesn't override. It’s using the drawing plot area from the drawing itself, which completely defeats the purpose. Am I missing something?
My company manufacturs many sheet metal parts that ends up being painted. We need to describe both material and surface treatment in the title blocks on our idw's. Inventor parts then have a selected material (the required steel type) and a color override is applied (the required paint job) But color override is not just like that to retrieve for the title block, like standard iproperties like
<MATERIAL> or <THICKNESS>
I have a text style called standard2 in a drawing, I put all text whether it be in blocks, dimensions, mtext, dtext everything into the style I want. Purge the drawing which gets rid of the style, save it, close it then reopen. I then get Standard style reset, existing objects moved to standard2 and now the standard2 style is back in the drawing. This problem is only affecting some drawings and not all drawings.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI'm trying to override the F9 key with an AutoLISP subroutine invocation. However, though I have redefined the Temporary Override Key (associated with the F9 key) in the CUI editor, the F9 key nevertheless still triggers the default Toggle Snap Mode behavior. So it's not accepting the redefinition even though the new definition persists between AutoCAD sessions.
how to get the redefinition to take?
I am responsible for populating a database in which one of the fields is the area of individual rooms in a building. The instructions indicated that I was to use polylines to enclose each room / area and to find the area based on these values.
Earlier this year, another student was hired to confirm the measurements on building blueprints. This student took accurate measurements of each room, however instead of correcting the drawings, he simply added override text to the dimensions. Therefore the displayed dimensions are correct but my area values using polylines are inaccurate.
The project that I'm working on includes a number of drawings and close to 1000 rooms. I downloaded a function I found online that allows me to figure out which dimensions were overridden by boxing them in a different colour and I've found that it is a significant ammount.
Is there a way to use these overridden dimensions, without altering the physical nature of the drawing, to find the area of a room?Need to use polylines to calculate area of many rooms. Dimensions have been overridden and are inaccurate. Can i use the overridden dimensions without altering the physical drawing?
How can I restore "color override" command on manage reebon? In 2013 it is not there by default.

If i'm in the model tab the block works fine exactly how i made it. I'm the only person in my offie with 2011lt so i don't know if it is my computer or if it is a setting in 2011lt. It works fine in 2011 full and a few other versions around here aswell.

View 5 Replies View RelatedI have a problem with one specific drawing where I have created a right viewport; however, if I double click in the port to enter model space, the viewport automatically changes to a top view. If the viewport is locked, no change to the view. This problem only exhibits itself in one drawing so it must be some setting that is drawing specific.
View 1 Replies View RelatedWe have recently been upgraded to Autodesk Map 3D where I work which when we first got it was a big improvement from what we were running. When I first started using the programme I found the lovely little box in the bottom right hand corner where you can change the view scale.
This allowed me, when in paper space, to double click in a viewport then click the drop down arrow next to the Viewscale box, select custom and then type in the scale I wanted (i.e. if 1:200 I typed 200 then hit ok).
However all of a sudden I am no longer able to do this. When I press ok, nothing changes. There are no error messages or any message. It appears to disregard the command. There is also a closed padlock next to this which when hovered over gives the discription "click to link/unlink AutoCAD Map 3D stylisation while zooming". I am unable to unlock this by clicking on it, the padlock seems protected almost so I am wondering if this is my problem?
is it possible to plot a viewport containing many layers and colors just in one specific color without changing the colors of all the layers?
View 3 Replies View RelatedIn paperspace I set the viewport scale to 1-1/2"=1'-0" on a ANSI D-size plot. But when plotted at (layout) 1:1, it comes out to be 1/8"=1'-0" on a engineering scale.

I'm working on a new computer and some of the ACAD settings are different.. When I am in paperspace, I am used to just double-clicking in a viewport to work in modelspace..
Whether the viewport is locked or not, I am used to being able to zoom in and out to scale, or just work there and the viewport stays stationary.
There is some setting that is causing the viewport to "zoom out" every time I double click in the viewport. I have to then lock it which means that I can't change the zoom-to-scale factor.. It's also a pain in the neck.
Also, when I have multiple viewports open that are not locked, they all "zoom out" also when I double-click in one..
Any knowledge of some setvar to fix?
I have this problem with AutoCAD 2012 and with LT2011. When first opening a drawing in a layout with the viewport locked and activated, the first scroll action moves the drawing within the viewport. After the first scroll, any scrolling moves the entire viewport as it should when locked. Putting the drawing back to where it was within the viewport requires unlocking the viewport or undoing everything back to the first scroll action. This is very anoying especially if you are zoomed in and can't see the edges of the viewport and don't notice the move right away. I did not have this problem in the older versions.

I have tried bringing the leader to the front and sending the viewport to the back along with regenning the drawing to no avail. the leader works ok with the other two viewports no issue there but with the third one it just will not work. View 9 Replies View RelatedWhy is it that some dimensions in a viewport are out of sync with the rest of the dimensions? Eg. a correct dimension is 240, but the next time you dimension the same distance, you get 24 as a dimension figure?
Also, in a long run of continued dimensions one or two of the dimensions is out of scale? I have tried making all dimension Annotative, same dimstyle, etc.
I think sometimes Autocad forgets that it is in a viewport, so some dimensions are correct to the viewport scale while others are to the limits of the paper size?
how to keep the current zoom scale in (Model) viewport AS IS..the problem is, when i click the other of viewport, the other view zooms to drawing extent..

View 9 Replies View RelatedMy first immediate issue is text and dimensioning on view port.
If I dimension in a viewport, these dims appear on other view ports (referencing info at different scales) I thought I can write text and dimension specific to view port even if information repeated around sheet.
Secondly, if i have the above situation of my detail at 1:10 then more at 1:5/1:2, I want the hatch scale to be uniform in all viewports. What is the setting (so if hat5ch lines 2mm apart in 1:10 then I want them 2mm apart in the 1:2 as well.
I have a drawings with multiple layouts. In the first layout the whole drawing looks exactly like in does in model space, with reference to the colours. In the other layout the drawings all change colour to what they will look like when printed.
In these other layouts if I copy a viewport the colour returns, but if I change to another layout and back again then it reverts to what the original was. I have attached an image.
The copied vp is the one on top.
Like I said proably a quick fix but I dont know where to start. Is it something to do with Vp colour overrides?
Another user has created a bunch of sketches and somehow has set the drawing up where all the viewport and our title block are displayed in white. model space everything is fine and is as it should be.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI've always been taught to set the LTSCALE to the scale of my vport, and set psltscale to 0 (Civil Design). And it has always worked great until I came to work at an Enviromental Consultant frims, that likes to mix units and do stuff the hard way. But thats beside the point.
I've read multiple post about setting the LTSCALE to 1 or .5 and leaving PSLTSCALE to 1 or whatever. There are TONS of post about it.
The reason I'm bringing it up is because EVERYBODY in my drafting department sets the LTS to 1, then manulipates the linetype scales individually threw the properties. This drives me absoutly insane!
So if I have a drawing that the vport is to 1:80, what should the LTSCALE and PSLTSCALE be set to?
