I’m wonder why the attached file zooms to extent AUTOMATICALLY when applying some commands.
For example if I need to use the command “mleaderalign” then the file zooms out AUTOMATICALLY!!!
How to control this very weird behaviour?
Why the file may zoom AUTOMATICALLY?
Software: AutoCAD 2014, AutoCAD C3D, AutoCAD M3D, Revit

AutoCad 3D :: Subjects In Viewport Enlarging When Zooming In
Feb 25, 2010Made few viewports (3d) in paperspace, set scale & locked. Zoom in and out from paperspace is fine, scale in the viewports stay as set until after I double-click inside the viewport to check or alter things and return to paperspace.
Now when zooming in from paperspace, subjects inside the viewport keep enlarging (not scale increase) and things go out of space ...zooming out everything come back to place. This makes doing other task very difficult.
AutoCAD LT :: 2008 LOCKED Floating Viewport View Moves When Zooming
May 15, 2012I have had this issue for about two weeks. I am not aware of any changes to my system though Windows 7 updates automatically.
Often, but not all the time, when I am in a floating viewport which is locked and I zoom in, the part of the drawing disappears as if the view on the viewport has adjusted to one side so that I cannot see any of what I am working on. If I escape the command and 'undo' last command it takes me back to the correct view but in paperspace.
This is a pain as I cannot zoom in to locate a point accurately. It only happens when I zoom in quite close. The viewports are locked and it is only a problem recently. I have used CAD for 20 years and LT 2008 for the last 4-5 years so I dont think it is a user issue. Maybe a settings issue or bug, but I have not knowingly changed any settings which would do this and cannot see why this would be a 'feature'.
3ds Max :: Viewport Not Zooming When Wheel Ball Is Used On It
Jan 18, 2012I've just got a new mouse, an Eclipse MobileMouse, which instead of a wheel has a 360-degree ball, like the apple Mighty Mouse. I can use this to scroll vertically in all apps, and it will also allow me to scroll menus in 3ds Max. However, I cannot use it to zoom in my viewport (as you would normally by using a conventional wheel).

Sep 4, 2010I tried searching for "Slow scroll" and found one topic about scrolling through layers, but not scrolling through the drawing in general.
Problem: When using the mouse to scroll through a drawing with an attached pdf underlay, the motion suddenly gets really choppy, and slow. The PDF is about 3.5 Mb. Its very annoying knowing that my computer should be able to handle it and then some.

Failed Solutions: Hardware Accelerator on and off; Played around with performance settings.
AutoCAD 2010 :: SID Image Goes Black When Zooming In
Nov 8, 2012I have a county-wide SID image file that I've attached to a street line drawing. It was working fine until this morning. Now, when I zoom in the image (all or most of it) goes completely black. Zooming into different areas of the image results in either the image being visible or blacked out...no real rhyme or reason. Of course, the area I need to address right now is entirely blacked out.
Examples attached: same scale, image is visible but then I pan to the right and it goes black....

Mar 23, 2012My laptop died recently and I had to get a new one then reinstall my AutoCAD 2010 software. Trouble is the mouse wheel no longer zooms or, when held down, pans any more. I have spent the last couple of hours trying to sort this but to no avail - nothing happens when I use the mousewheel at all. SO frustrating as I use this all the time!
I run Windows 7 Pro OS and the mouse is a fairly basic HP model with two buttons and a wheel. (maybe I need to upgrade the thing...!)

Each vertex of each parcel has a label as MText. there are areas where these labels overlap partially. Is there a command to cycle through all areas where the overlapping occurs to speed up the cleaning process of the drawing?

Jul 21, 2010I guess because the view is actually saved, but is there a way to disable view saving or any other way that an UNCHANGED drawing does not ask me to save?
This is related to the option to combine zoom and pan actions in undo, but what I really want is to remove them from undo completely. That way if you zoom out you could see what changes, and you wouldn't LOSE THE ABILITY TO REDO by zooming.
Optimally, AUTOCAD could ask for each drawing whether it should save, and then save the ones that you selected, together. This way you could just leave the application to save and tab to something else
I'd be really happy to see this option in future releases. Because when you undo you can't always see the change, and being able to zoom/pan independently of the action history would mean that you can look at the drawing without losing the latest drawing.
AutoCAD Map 3D :: No Extent In Drawing?
Oct 31, 2007My Zoom Extents isn't working right and when I try to plot it says, "No extents in drawing. Could not set plot area to Extents." If I hit OK and go to the Plot Window, Extents isn't an option for the Plot Area and the Plot Scales are way off. I have never seen a drawing that didn't have an extents?

Feb 15, 2012I'm having a problem with Zoom Extent on a poticular drawing. when zooming normally with the scroll wheel it will work with no problems at all.
When I do a Zoom Extents everything in the Model window disapears even the viewcube and small tool bar and minimize and close buttons. but if i go to where the minimzie and close is and click my mouse picks up the command.
If i do a undo i get everything back.

Would this be a system varible or a driver issue. it only seems to do it with this drawing and when this drawing is Xref'ed into another drawing.

AutoCAD Map 3D :: Extent Error With Exported Polygon Shape Files
Jun 5, 2012I am exporting shape files for a GIS user. I am using the correct coordinate system and my units are in feet and decimal degrees. I can export the lines and points with attributes and they import into GIS just fine. When I export a polygon with or without attributes, when i import them into GIS i get the error "One or more of the added layers has an extent that is not consistent with the associated spatial reference."

Dec 14, 2012I have a problem with one specific drawing where I have created a right viewport; however, if I double click in the port to enter model space, the viewport automatically changes to a top view. If the viewport is locked, no change to the view. This problem only exhibits itself in one drawing so it must be some setting that is drawing specific.

Nov 9, 2011We have recently been upgraded to Autodesk Map 3D where I work which when we first got it was a big improvement from what we were running. When I first started using the programme I found the lovely little box in the bottom right hand corner where you can change the view scale.
This allowed me, when in paper space, to double click in a viewport then click the drop down arrow next to the Viewscale box, select custom and then type in the scale I wanted (i.e. if 1:200 I typed 200 then hit ok).
However all of a sudden I am no longer able to do this. When I press ok, nothing changes. There are no error messages or any message. It appears to disregard the command. There is also a closed padlock next to this which when hovered over gives the discription "click to link/unlink AutoCAD Map 3D stylisation while zooming". I am unable to unlock this by clicking on it, the padlock seems protected almost so I am wondering if this is my problem?

May 23, 2013I'm working on a new computer and some of the ACAD settings are different.. When I am in paperspace, I am used to just double-clicking in a viewport to work in modelspace..
Whether the viewport is locked or not, I am used to being able to zoom in and out to scale, or just work there and the viewport stays stationary.
There is some setting that is causing the viewport to "zoom out" every time I double click in the viewport. I have to then lock it which means that I can't change the zoom-to-scale factor.. It's also a pain in the neck.
Also, when I have multiple viewports open that are not locked, they all "zoom out" also when I double-click in one..
Any knowledge of some setvar to fix?
AutoCAD 2010 :: First Scroll In Locked Viewport
Dec 21, 2011I have this problem with AutoCAD 2012 and with LT2011. When first opening a drawing in a layout with the viewport locked and activated, the first scroll action moves the drawing within the viewport. After the first scroll, any scrolling moves the entire viewport as it should when locked. Putting the drawing back to where it was within the viewport requires unlocking the viewport or undoing everything back to the first scroll action. This is very anoying especially if you are zoomed in and can't see the edges of the viewport and don't notice the move right away. I did not have this problem in the older versions.

Oct 9, 2013I have a drawing which has 3 viewports in it, two of the viewports are ok but with the third one when i try to have a leader from it to a text box outside the viewport in paperspace, the section of the leader within the viewport is blanked out,. I have tried bringing the leader to the front and sending the viewport to the back along with regenning the drawing to no avail. the leader works ok with the other two viewports no issue there but with the third one it just will not work. The viewport is used for viewing a location using a raster map image and it does show the leader / line object when zoomed out and disappears again when the line goes over the raster image.

Aug 26, 2010Why is it that some dimensions in a viewport are out of sync with the rest of the dimensions? Eg. a correct dimension is 240, but the next time you dimension the same distance, you get 24 as a dimension figure?
Also, in a long run of continued dimensions one or two of the dimensions is out of scale? I have tried making all dimension Annotative, same dimstyle, etc.
I think sometimes Autocad forgets that it is in a viewport, so some dimensions are correct to the viewport scale while others are to the limits of the paper size?

Mar 5, 2013My first immediate issue is text and dimensioning on view port.
If I dimension in a viewport, these dims appear on other view ports (referencing info at different scales) I thought I can write text and dimension specific to view port even if information repeated around sheet.
Secondly, if i have the above situation of my detail at 1:10 then more at 1:5/1:2, I want the hatch scale to be uniform in all viewports. What is the setting (so if hat5ch lines 2mm apart in 1:10 then I want them 2mm apart in the 1:2 as well.
