3ds Max :: Viewport Not Zooming When Wheel Ball Is Used On It
Jan 18, 2012
I've just got a new mouse, an Eclipse MobileMouse, which instead of a wheel has a 360-degree ball, like the apple Mighty Mouse. I can use this to scroll vertically in all apps, and it will also allow me to scroll menus in 3ds Max. However, I cannot use it to zoom in my viewport (as you would normally by using a conventional wheel).
Where can I change that scrolling the mouse wheel moves me up and down the page instead of zooms in and out? I want it as it was in X5 (I may have changed some setting there, but that I have forgotten).
I don't mean the Zoom Tool, but simple zoom in/out operations. I seem to recall that the default behaviour in Photoshop was that you zoomed with Ctrl+mousewheel scrolling, and if you just scrolled, then the picture would pan up/down (vertically). And you could untick the "Zoom with scroll wheel" option if you didn't want Ctrl+scroll to mean "zoom".
However for a while now, having that option ticked seems to mean that scrolling (with no Ctrl) is all it takes to zoom in/out, and if you untick the option then you need to press Alt+scroll to zoom; in either case, there is no shortcut for panningup/down.
Anyway, whether this was really ever the case or not, my question is: is it somehow possible to make it so Ctrl+scroll zooms and (simple) scroll pans vertically?
We use wheel zoom, and you can zoom out forever, but zooming in STOPS once the view area hits the outside of the drawing/outer lines in plan view, model space.
My laptop died recently and I had to get a new one then reinstall my AutoCAD 2010 software. Trouble is the mouse wheel no longer zooms or, when held down, pans any more. I have spent the last couple of hours trying to sort this but to no avail - nothing happens when I use the mousewheel at all. SO frustrating as I use this all the time!
I run Windows 7 Pro OS and the mouse is a fairly basic HP model with two buttons and a wheel. (maybe I need to upgrade the thing...!)
I used to have x4 . One of the features I like is wherever you place the cursor and use your the scroll wheel on the mouse, it will zoom in where the cursor is.
When i switched to x5 , it doesnt center to the cursor. Is that a glitch? is there a way im doing it wrong or any setting i need to fix?
When zooming in and out using the mouse wheel, the increments used in zooming are rather course.
I've tried changing the windows mouse options to no effect within Inventor. I've also looked around the application settings and could not readily find any options which adjusts zooming increment.
Is there even such an option, or am I out of luck on this one?
I've installed Illustrator CS6 recently and found the behavior of panning with the scroll wheel annoying. When I have low zoom values (e.g. 75%) the scroll wheel lets me pan U-D, L-R at normal speed, but if I zoom in (200% and up), the panning slows to a point where it is unusable at 600% and up. I use [Shift] to speed it up but at high zoom levels it's not enough. This wasn't the case for Illustrator CS5 or 5.5 where panning with the scroll wheel worked at the same speed at any zoom level.
how to keep the current zoom scale in (Model) viewport AS IS..the problem is, when i click the other of viewport, the other view zooms to drawing extent..
Made few viewports (3d) in paperspace, set scale & locked. Zoom in and out from paperspace is fine, scale in the viewports stay as set until after I double-click inside the viewport to check or alter things and return to paperspace.
Now when zooming in from paperspace, subjects inside the viewport keep enlarging (not scale increase) and things go out of space ...zooming out everything come back to place. This makes doing other task very difficult.
I have had this issue for about two weeks. I am not aware of any changes to my system though Windows 7 updates automatically.
Often, but not all the time, when I am in a floating viewport which is locked and I zoom in, the part of the drawing disappears as if the view on the viewport has adjusted to one side so that I cannot see any of what I am working on. If I escape the command and 'undo' last command it takes me back to the correct view but in paperspace.
This is a pain as I cannot zoom in to locate a point accurately. It only happens when I zoom in quite close. The viewports are locked and it is only a problem recently. I have used CAD for 20 years and LT 2008 for the last 4-5 years so I dont think it is a user issue. Maybe a settings issue or bug, but I have not knowingly changed any settings which would do this and cannot see why this would be a 'feature'.
how do i create a transparent crystal ball in photoshop? because i want to add a cloud background in it.. with another image. also.. if there was an images inside a circle.... wich is the best way to cut out everything that is out side the circle?
I want to make a sphere that is a light. So I created a sphere and put a omni-light in it. When I render the sphere becomes flat and black. It must be a white light.
CS6 crashes on selecting any tool. It displays a spinning ball and can only be force quit. It developed this fault spontaneously. Where should I start searching? I repaired permissions, cleaned up the whole system, uninstalled and reinstalled Photoshop.
Im good at freehand drawings on 2d autocad I'm trying to learn 3ds Max. I have a year with inventor, but very fresh on Max. I don't like mechanical, I do floor plans and cartoons.
I saw in my mind the image of a soccer ball bursting through the paper on the yearbook page. Looking on the Internet, it was looking more like a challenge than a "How'd They Do That?"
So, finally, I found something.
But, it is not quite what I want.....as you can see....
I need help getting a look of a real soccer ball protruding from the page.
Then, if everything holds up...I need this technique to be altered a little so that the torn flaps are a little more realistic.
How can I add a logo to a very good realistic inage of a golf ball. Ideally the image would flow right down into the "dimples". But I would be happy if I could simply get the logo image to kind of wrap around the ball a little. Does anyone know of a tutorial around that would help me to understand how to do this ?
Within dynamic simulation, I am trying to have a ball follow a track made of (2) rods, I can do it if the rods are straight but I do not know how to properly apply joints to allow the ball to follow the tracks when they are turning. I need to do this within dynamic simulation because I also hope to add a chain and sprockets with a ball holder to bring the ball back up to the top.
I am working on a project for school. I created a trebuchet but the ball goes way to far. I believe it is beacse there is no air friction. I have spent days trying to figure this out. Is there anyway in inventor pro to apply air friction on something like a cannon ball?
I read a little about using the displace filter to do what I want but could not get it done properly.
I have a nice "golf ball" image. and I want to put a logo on it and have the logo image flow right down into the dimples like it would be on a real golf ball.
I'll attach the images I'm woking with. If you can give me a step by step procedure I would really appreciate it. I need to get this done but I would also like to understand how to do it so I can be a better photoshop user in the future.
I am animating a ball right now, that is rolling all over the place. Would be cool to animate just the translation of an object and not to worry about rotation. Is there a way? Like.. through the expressions or set driven key? Also would be even better if rotation speed increased as the movement speed did.
