My screen(worksheet) is lagging when I try to zoom in/out or move with my scroll button.
It goes better when i zoom in till I have a few lines on my screen but that's not really useful to work with.
my entire system locks up.It seems to work fine at the start, but it will lock up on me on random. I tried finding out what the exact problem was, and it seems that moving about the canvas in any way always seems to be the cause. I also often get this while I try to save, in the saving process I would move my canvas around, and it would lock up on me. Thus making my .psd-file corrupt/unreadable.
I tried different methods to approach this, but no luck. One is installing the latest video driver, but it already seemed to be up-to-date. Second would be disabling certain plugins in Photoshop, like the FastCore and the MMXCore ones.

VGA: GeForce GTX 580
CPU: Intel Core i7 3930K
Motherboard: ASUS P9X79 DELUXE
RAM memory: 8GB
Operation system: Windows 7 ultimate.

When I pan around a drawing by holding down the scroll wheel of the mouse button, I sometimes pan quite slowly, AutoCAD decides to zoom to extents. I know I have not double clicked the scroll wheel.

We're using a new type font - VAGRounded-Thin - however when in paper space and we zoom in and out the text font enlarges or reduces as we scroll in and out with the mouse wheel.It's still coming out fine when printed [pdf and hardcopy] it's just on the screen.
View 9 Replies View RelatedI tried searching for "Slow scroll" and found one topic about scrolling through layers, but not scrolling through the drawing in general.
Problem: When using the mouse to scroll through a drawing with an attached pdf underlay, the motion suddenly gets really choppy, and slow. The PDF is about 3.5 Mb. Its very annoying knowing that my computer should be able to handle it and then some.

I have a county-wide SID image file that I've attached to a street line drawing. It was working fine until this morning. Now, when I zoom in the image (all or most of it) goes completely black. Zooming into different areas of the image results in either the image being visible or blacked out...no real rhyme or reason. Of course, the area I need to address right now is entirely blacked out.
Examples attached: same scale, image is visible but then I pan to the right and it goes black....
how to keep the current zoom scale in (Model) viewport AS IS..the problem is, when i click the other of viewport, the other view zooms to drawing extent..
View 2 Replies View RelatedMy laptop died recently and I had to get a new one then reinstall my AutoCAD 2010 software. Trouble is the mouse wheel no longer zooms or, when held down, pans any more. I have spent the last couple of hours trying to sort this but to no avail - nothing happens when I use the mousewheel at all. SO frustrating as I use this all the time!
I run Windows 7 Pro OS and the mouse is a fairly basic HP model with two buttons and a wheel. (maybe I need to upgrade the thing...!)
I have a big drawing generated from a database with .NET containing about a 1000 parcels. Each vertex of each parcel has a label as MText. there are areas where these labels overlap partially. Is there a command to cycle through all areas where the overlapping occurs to speed up the cleaning process of the drawing?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI guess because the view is actually saved, but is there a way to disable view saving or any other way that an UNCHANGED drawing does not ask me to save?
This is related to the option to combine zoom and pan actions in undo, but what I really want is to remove them from undo completely. That way if you zoom out you could see what changes, and you wouldn't LOSE THE ABILITY TO REDO by zooming.
Optimally, AUTOCAD could ask for each drawing whether it should save, and then save the ones that you selected, together. This way you could just leave the application to save and tab to something else
I'd be really happy to see this option in future releases. Because when you undo you can't always see the change, and being able to zoom/pan independently of the action history would mean that you can look at the drawing without losing the latest drawing.
Is there a chance could shoe me how to use iLogic to create copy of part by first searching through an excel worksheet columns, if the name exist in excel worksheet then donot save else create a copy of the part or save as whatever name is defined in the iLogic code.

I'm trying to start Excel and show the results of some BOM items I have written to a file like item number, part number and description.The task is to find components in an assembly that have a part number longer then 39 characters, due to ERP limitations.
What I´m doing is cycling through all BOM (structured) items on first level and check if the part number is longer then 39 characters.
I write these item number, part number, description to an Excel file (temp.xlsx), so the user sees which Components he has to check for the Part Number (make it shorter). I figured it would be best to do that with an excel file, so the user can save the results to a new file or just check it.
Values will be erased from the temporary excel file afterwards.Here I can't figure out how to start the excel application and open the file in an actual application window if possible.
how to list the results with plain iLogic that would do it too or some other solution to list a snapshot from the BOM.I guess there is no way to add your custom BOMViews ?
How do you determine the size for the worksheet you're working on? For example I want create a standard size landscape layout size piece of paper for a flyer.... What size should I use? 10X8?

Is there a way to move the horizontal text of a vertical dimension that's outside of the extension lines to the right or left?
This was possible years ago with a simple stretch or moving of the text grip. Now, if the dimension is above the extension lines, the text is to the right. If it is below the extension lines, the text is to the left.
When I draw a new line from end point to end point using osnap, and then want to move that new line I drew, it also moves the lines I onsapped to.

I am in the process of learning the uses of the ribbon. I have always used the acad menu, then loaded "partial" custom menus. Is this still possible using the ribbon? Not sure how to do this. I like keeping the custom stuff separate, because we have 5 users with a standard company menu and I like the idea of always going back to the original menu. I suppose my question is how do I use the ribbon, and continue to use my partials also

View 1 Replies View RelatedRecently, on my machine i have noticed that the print area (layout white space) of my drawing in paperspace moves and re-sizes every time i print.
I am trying to create a template and want everyone to print "layout" as a standard practice. But, if i happen to change to print window and window something off the page the layout space (white area) has now been resized and moved to the area i just windowed.
I want to print something "off the page" this time is no reason to change or modify the LAYOUT area that was initially specified. This never happened before and is not happening to my colleagues, so this must be a local setting.

In a new drawing I insert that block and specify coordinate 0,0 as my insert point. Instead of my insertion point being in the lower left it is in the upper right. I run into this in new version and old version drawings.

I tested by printing the outline of the vport and opening the resulting PDF in a PDF viewer.
The vport is exactly the same dimension but is about .5 inch off to the right.
After closing and re-opening my drawing, my annotative mtext is moving, and shrinking. When I click on the text, the properties say annotative is set to NO. I reset it to YES and fix it, but once I close it and re-open its screwed up again, and annotation is set back to NO.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI recently installed AutoCAD 2012 and have noticed that my crosshairs are moving as if a grid is turned on. I checked my settings and have turned everything off however, the crosshairs continues to move in "jerk-like" movements.
How do I change this?
Is there a way to see and move paperspace viewport boundaries in model space?
Explaining: You have created layout which includes multiple viewports with different scale and size (view, section). Now you copy the layout to create a new layout with with same viewports. Now you have to change the view in all viewports. I have used technique where you double-click in viewport and you navigate in modelspace (pan/zoom) until you reach the right position.
The problem is If you have like 100 layouts with 10 viewports each, it takes very long time to pan the views into right position.
I have a some theories:
1. If I could see the viewports in modelspace, I could drag them all into right position without navigating them one-by-on in paperspace.
2. If I could pan the view in viewport by specific amount lets say 10m to the right.
When I try to move an object to the 0,0 plain, I get a "locked" symbol in the command line and the object does not move to the 0,0 plain. How would I be able to unlock this to move anything to the 0,0 plain.
View 7 Replies View RelatedHad to get a new hard drive. Using Win XP, LT 2010. Most customization is on server, but I had some tool palettes, and I made one ribbon panel with a few tabs. Old hard drive is still accessible on the computer. Three items I want to copy.
1. Tool palettes - Can I just copy the items from support/icons, and support/palettesinto the same location on the new drive?
2. Will copying the profile.aws to the same location work for the profile? and
3. Where do I copy my custom file for the custom tab & panel?
I am using AutoCad 2012, with CADDUCT. On my runs of duct that go vertical, I like to stack my tag numbers beside the riser in order, so our installers can easily identify the order without a ton of section views. I am trying to figure out a macro that will do numerous things. Since my tags come out at different rotation angles, I would like to do the following commands.
Rotate object text "TAG #" to 0 degrees
move object text "TAG #" to "Snap from" & "snap insert" 6" below the tag above it
I want the numbers to align by their insert locations up and down the page, and exactly 6" on center vertically from one another. The tag numbers have a node justified to the center up and down of the text.
I am attempting to do a macro that will allow me to select multiple objects and then move them in only ONE axis. For example, If I want to move a wall, the door and the window in the Y axis to align with another wall across the hall. I have attempted to do this in a button macro, but so far its limited. Here is the macro
^c^c_move;\.xz;@;
This will allow me to click the customized button, then select ONE object by a displacement, and it will only move it in the Y axis and allows me to choose the point with a mouse click of the final location.
When I try to select more than one object, it kicks me ahead in the commands and prompts for (needs Y). how I can figure out the correct macro?
I have a slightly unusual query that I can't seem to find a solution for elsewhere. I have an existing OS plan that is 'off grid', and would like to adjust the vertices at the ends of all the existing lines and polylines so that they all sit on a grid point. Is there a quick command or script that does this?
