Using the DAta Connections tool under Planning and Analysis, also known as Map 3D, I have attached a series of shapefiles and I want to be able to toggle the view of some of them on or off depending on the viewport. Is this possible to do?
View 5 RepliesI created view frames and sheets for a number of alignments. Is there a way to turn off a match line not associated with the main alignment for a particular viewport.
Or did I missed a setting somewhere that should turn this off automatically?
Is there a way for me to display different points in each viewport? I have figured out how to freeze layers and realize I can put the points and labels on different layers but am curious if this is the only alternative?
View 2 Replies View Related about a Volume Table style, where I have correctly showing in Model Space and is "Split" in the Table Properties. This is a "Total Volume Table" and is Dynamic.
Just Fine in Model Space... yet is showing within a Viewport (typ. plan sheet) that each Split is simply Staked ontop of each other ?
Thought I (we) came across this a few years ago... yet no issues latetly till now, and also mainly first time I've likely split the Table in R2012 (currently used).
Have maintaining View Orientation "true", yet still nothing.....

I have an alignment for a proposed steel gas pipeline that is several thousand feet long. The alignment is stationed and set to display PI symbols (triangle) at each change of direction. However, steel pipe is relatively flexible so small changes in direction (a few degrees) are irrelevant and I do not want the PI symbols to display in those areas. Is there a setting (a tolerance so-to-speak) in Civil 3D to edit when PI symbols are displayed for an alignment. For example, I want to set it such that PI symbols are not displayed unless the alignment changes direction by more than 10 degrees at a given PI.

The available command to do so is “Freeze and thaw in current viewport” (attached) and it sounds it can’t be plugged in the “quick access toolbar”!

With standard CAD objects it is possible to control their display on a per viewport basis by using the layer manager and freezing any unwanted layers in a particular vport.
I'm having trouble controlling the display of FDO objects from an SDF file in the same way though.
I have a drawing with a viewport that fits to the page. And I created another smaller viewport over top that just shows the legend. Now when I try to double click inside the smaller viewport it always goes into the larger one. I have tried bringing the smaller one to the front but that didn't work. I know that I can clip the larger viewport around the smaller one or bring the legend right into paperspace or slid the smaller one off to the side work in it and slide it back. This is more out of curiosity of how to get into the smaller viewport.

View 5 Replies View RelatedI'm having an issue with viewports in a drawing not displaying the color of the objects in model space. All of the objects are set to display bylayer, and all of the viewport overrides in the drawing are off. Still, the objects will only display as either white or grey through the viewport, even though the colors show up fine in model space. I've also tried making a new viewport and it also displays everything as either white or gray, so I'm thinking it might be some kind of system variable that I don't know about.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have and array that looks fine in model space but when viewed in a viewport from paperspace, sections of the array look like they are wiped out. Going back to model space everything looks fine. The only way I can get it to fill in is to delete the viewport and create another one. It's then fine for awhile but before long, areas are missing again. I've redone the viewport three times and it's starting to drive me nuts.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI am trying to display materials "realisticly" in the viewport and for some reason can't do it with the nitrous driver : all materials display as black and white checkers. It does work with the Direct3D driver.
The two images below show you the problem : the blue one is the correct material as displayed using Direct3D (it has a noise bump map applied to it), the black and white is what nitrous displays.
My display settings are :
- for direct3D, "hardware shading" for the viewport and in the material editor
- for nitrous, "realistic shading" for the viewport and in the material editor. With or without map doesn't make a difference.
when more generally this checker is displayed instead of the material ?
ps. By the way I couldn't understand the difference between 'area' and 'forums' at [URL]......
My problem is that when i add a map through WMS connection and later turn my drawing with the map into a .pdf file, the outcome is a very large file (my certain A4 drawing was 30,4 Mb). I guess AutoCAD stores a lot more info than i need the drawing.
Managing with a 30Mb file is very difficult when i need to, for example, sent it through an e-mail.
I'm doing sections for a new sidewalk, but they have vertical lines at the connection points (see attached). How to turn them off?

View 2 Replies View RelatedWe have just switched from 2010 to 2013, and are experiencing some problems on two different projects. The issue is that we have our pipe networks located within on drawing, then data shortcuted to our production drawings. However, the pipes are not drawing either in plan or profile to the correct size.
They read correct in the pipe size, the style is set to display the correct "parts" of the pipes, but they are incorrect. It is not consistent within regards to a single pipe size being incorrect, nor is it the same sizes between the two projects.
It's in 3ds max 2013. I attach the image along with the post. How it happen? I use DefaultScanline. How could we show maps in Viewport the same in the render?
View 2 Replies View Relatedafter loading the background image in the usual way you do its visible in all modes except when you switch to wireframe, which is the most likely time when you do want to see it. Maybe something to do with the nitrous viewport thingy, dont know?. Running a 64 bit os on a quad core system with 12 gb of ram and an invidia quadro 3800 card. Like to say that the nirous viewer is a great improvement for viewport accuracy , only seems to work with four lights though?

I have several SHP Connections that I am using as background. I can use the Style Editor to get the individual SHP Lines/Polygons/blocks to be the appropriate colors for the information that they include (Property Lines, Buildings, Utilities, etc)
The problem is in plotting this information. The settings in my tried and true .ctb file don't seem to apply to the SHP data. Everything else that actually exists in the drawing behaves correctly, but the SHP data plots as it appears on the screen.
I am using C3D 2012
When attempting to attach WMS data, Map Task Pane>Display Manager Tab>Data>Data Connect dialog>Data Connections by provider.
After entering the server name or URL and choosing "connect" I get the following errors:
"Failed to open FDO connection"
"The HTTP request URI was not found by the server"
It seems to work just fine for other users using the same steps.

With PS CS5.1, how do I turn off the bounding box display when i use the move tool to move a layer? There is this faint grey line that appears when a layer is selected. How do i turn it off?
View 2 Replies View RelatedMaya 2014 SP4 OSX.I have just spent the morning creating a new model, and I needed to check the normals for a few faces that I had to delete and recreate,the normals are now showing all the time and I cannot switch them off, I have check preferences and they are deselected there, but what ever I do they do not go away!
Also there is no tick to say that they are on or off? Should there be, I am sure on the system at work we have a tick?
