using 2013 and attempting to connect to a DEM downloaded from LSU Atlas. I get the "Failed to open FCO connection. Could not open/read from file" Am wanting to generate a watershed from the DEM surface.
To access MYSQL with FDO where should we place de file libmySQL.dll? With MAP its is in the <installation>FDOin directory but how come there is no such directory with Civil?
extract from Map help "If you cannot connect to your MySQL data source, you may see an error message: "Specified credentials are not valid or the provider is unable to establish a connection." To resolve the issue, copy the libmySQL.dll file into the AutoCAD Map 3DFDOin folder and try again."
I have autocad civil 3d 2008 in my pc. From last 2 days I got a different problem i.e. when I am selecting open / save command from File menu graphical file select explorer is not opening just message in the command window . Previously I used to select files using graphical file explorer.
How can I update the data connection source for all the display map layers in my map layouts? If I want to change the shapefile a layer is representing I can not get the layer to point to the new shapefile.
The layer seems to always remember the name/location of the old shapefile. If I export the layer and modify the value in Notepad then load a new layer from the saved and modified layer file it will change. However I would have to do this for every layer I want to change.
Is there another way to change the property of this layer in AutoCAD?
Example: I create a drawing and layout with a Display layer that points to the FDO data for shapefiles "C:datauildings.shp".
I then give the drawing to another worker hows data is on "E:DATABUILDINGS.SHP" the data connection to the layer cannot be updated that I can see.
While trying to troubleshoot another user's problem, I discovered that I can't open the point creation tools on my computer. I can create the points by picking the appropriate type of point I want to create under the menu, but I can' change any of the point creation tools options.
Nothing happend when I click on points->create points.on the menu.
Nothing happens when I click on points->create points on hte ribbon.
I can create points by clicking on points->create points miscellaneous->manual either the ribbon or the menus.
It's like the command to open the Create Points Tools is somehow disabled on my computer.

I have some dwg files, shp files, images, and sdf files in my C: . I am using AutoCAD Map 3D 2011. When I try to open one of the dwg files it is showing a warnng message "Failed to open FDO connection".
This has been hit and miss. I am now consistenly getting a dynamic link server connection trying to use Track camera in After Effects.
64GB RAN Windows 7 proffesional i7 processor NVIDIA GEFORCE TITAN
I have enabled all the recommended programs through my firewall. I see the dynamiclink server is running in my task manager, I have closed all other programs, no antivirus, I have restarted my computer, no luck with this.
Also to add additional information:
It seems that when I try to do replace with After Effects composition in Premiere Pro I am getting error: The importer reported a generic error
and also when I first launch After effects I am getting a failure to load a few plugins from CineForm including importer
Using the DAta Connections tool under Planning and Analysis, also known as Map 3D, I have attached a series of shapefiles and I want to be able to toggle the view of some of them on or off depending on the viewport. Is this possible to do?
My problem is that when i add a map through WMS connection and later turn my drawing with the map into a .pdf file, the outcome is a very large file (my certain A4 drawing was 30,4 Mb). I guess AutoCAD stores a lot more info than i need the drawing.
Managing with a 30Mb file is very difficult when i need to, for example, sent it through an e-mail.
We have just switched from 2010 to 2013, and are experiencing some problems on two different projects. The issue is that we have our pipe networks located within on drawing, then data shortcuted to our production drawings. However, the pipes are not drawing either in plan or profile to the correct size.
They read correct in the pipe size, the style is set to display the correct "parts" of the pipes, but they are incorrect. It is not consistent within regards to a single pipe size being incorrect, nor is it the same sizes between the two projects.
I have several SHP Connections that I am using as background. I can use the Style Editor to get the individual SHP Lines/Polygons/blocks to be the appropriate colors for the information that they include (Property Lines, Buildings, Utilities, etc)
The problem is in plotting this information. The settings in my tried and true .ctb file don't seem to apply to the SHP data. Everything else that actually exists in the drawing behaves correctly, but the SHP data plots as it appears on the screen.
I recently upgraded to PhotoshopCS5.5 and find that I can't print on my HP Photoshop Premium printer. I'm using a MacBook Pro with Mac OSX 10.6.8. I also am unable to open 2 images at the same time.
We receive models through ftp. Something happened, and I am no longer able to open these files. (See attachments). We switched over to a server over the weekend, and Monday I was not able to open the stp or jt files. Inventor is installed on my PC only, so I am not sure if that could make a difference or not. I uninstalled and then installed it and the problem still exists.
Why is it that when we copy and paste a drawing from LT Autocad 2012 to powerpoint 2003, other versions of Autocad users are unable to open up when they double-click on the drawing?
I have an IDW file of my assembly, which is bombing out during opening. II can create pack and go file and post it in your designated folder. File is large.
As of today, my sheet set manager is unable to open any sheet set files (*.dst). It was working fine yesterday. There is no error message or prompt; it simply won't open them.
At first I thought it was some compatibility issue, since I recently upgraded from ACAD 2011 to ACAD 2012 (both 64 bits), but the dst file was created using 2012. I had been even creating new sheets and modifying the dst properties as recently as yesterday.
I opened the same files in my still-installed 2011 and the same result.
However, I went to some colleague's computer to open the same files, since the files are located in a networked environment, and voilá, the dst works perfectly. My colleague still uses 2011.
This means there is something wrong with "me".
Also, when I try to create a new sheet set file via the Sheet set Wizard, when I go from "Sheet Set Details" to "Choose Layouts" I can't and it throws me the message "Unable to create sheet set file: [route]".
I have accidentally click "No" and "Do not show message again" at the start up. Thereafter, I am not able to open any inventor files. How do I get back the start up prompt?
I am running AutoCAD MEP 2012. I am unable to open drawings that are stored on a network drive. I continue to get a "Unhandled Access Violation Reading 0X0000 Exception at f5bfaad0h" and AutoCAD closes. If I copy that same file to the computer and make it local, it opens without any problem. All files local open just fine. Also, I am able to open the same drawing on the network from multiple other computers.
I have tried to repair AutoCAD and check all network settings on the computer, but everything appears correct.
I am having trouble opening a step file. I actually opened it a couple of days ago fine but now when i try it tries to load for a few minutes then just crashes. I have tried other step files and they open fine.
The file is 260MB not sure if it will attach here.
The dwg is created in AutoCAD LT 2013. i am unble to open the dwg in AutoCAD 2013. Tried recover, wblocked it. Still does not work. Service pack is applied for AutoCAD 2013.
I have to open the files which are converted from Unigraphics NX6, and run some routines, but I am not able to open the Autocad through .net api, my code is as follows
Dim Filename As String = OpenFileToConvert.FileName ' I am selecting the Dwg through OpenFileDialog Dim acDocMgr As DocumentCollection = Autodesk.AutoCAD.ApplicationServices.Application.DocumentManager acDocMgr.Open(Filename, False)
Even if I open the dwg manually and then save it again to Autocad, I am not able to achieve any success.
I have several lisp routines I have been using since Acad 2002 (with occasional minor revisions) for my title blocks that open up a dialog boxes. None of the lisps I have that should open up a dialog box are working in a fresh 2012 install.
The lisps work in 2010 but not in 2012. I searched through the boards and found some info but it hasn't worked (made sure ATTREQ & ATTDIA set to 1).
