The dwg is created in AutoCAD LT 2013. i am unble to open the dwg in AutoCAD 2013. Tried recover, wblocked it. Still does not work. Service pack is applied for AutoCAD 2013.
View 8 RepliesUsing Revit 2014 LT. Trying to open a file created by another user/seat of Revit 2014 LT (trial version for now).
Error Message reads "The file is open for editing by another user. If you open the file, you cannot save changes until the user closes is. In this case, your changes will overwrite the user's changes. What do you want to do?"
The file is NOT open by another user though.
I realize LT does not allow worksharing, but I assumed that was multiple users working on the same file at the same time. We need to open files one at a time, but by different users.
Is it possible to attache a PCG file created with ACAD 2013 in ACAD 2012? I ask because I keep getting the message "the point cloud data file is not valid!". I have tried using both x86 and x64 and get the same error. I have also tried with ACAD 2011 and get the same error. The file was created from a Leica PTS file.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI am running AutoCAD MEP 2012. I am unable to open drawings that are stored on a network drive. I continue to get a "Unhandled Access Violation Reading 0X0000 Exception at f5bfaad0h" and AutoCAD closes. If I copy that same file to the computer and make it local, it opens without any problem. All files local open just fine. Also, I am able to open the same drawing on the network from multiple other computers.
I have tried to repair AutoCAD and check all network settings on the computer, but everything appears correct.
when I try to open the program I get this message:
The application failed to initialize properly (Oxc0000034) Click on OK to terminate the application.
I have several lisp routines I have been using since Acad 2002 (with occasional minor revisions) for my title blocks that open up a dialog boxes. None of the lisps I have that should open up a dialog box are working in a fresh 2012 install.
The lisps work in 2010 but not in 2012. I searched through the boards and found some info but it hasn't worked (made sure ATTREQ & ATTDIA set to 1).
Here is one the lisps in question:

I have tried changing the attdia value to 1 in the lisp but the result is the same. The command fails at the same spot:
Command: TITLE attdia Enter new value for ATTDIA <1>: 0
Command: -osnap Enter list of object snap modes: none
Command: nil
If I use -insert I can get the blocks to run by typing all the information at the command line but I want my dialog boxes back!
I drew a very complicated 2-D plot this afternoon. The most majority of the plot is composed of different straight lines, arcs. Then I used the polyline function to join them together to form a closed single polyline (Modify->object->polyline).
Later on I want to change something in part of the polyline. Then I used the 'pedit' again, I chose 'open'. But the whole polyline won't break into its original segments. I tried through all the menus, just cannot find the right tool for this purpose.
Does it mean I have to start over from scratch to redraw the whole plot?
when I invoke the Revcloud command and type "O" for options, I get a message box that says "Unable to open dialog box", if I close that message box I'm able to draw cloud lines in my drawing but I have no control of the cloud since I can not access the options dialog box.
My Revcloud was working fine last week.

I have a drawing file that keeps giving me this message when I try to open it :
"Unable to open this drawing.It contains incorrect or or corrupted information.The RECOVER command may be able to restore undamaged material from this drawing."
When I recover the file I sometimes get a message that 1 error was fixed, sometimes no errors were detected. Either way, when I close it, and try re-opening (whether or not I SAVE it first), I get the same message. I have tried RECOVERALL, AUDIT, AECTOACAD (those AEC objects can be a problem) and tried changing the AutoCAD version it saves to (eg 2007). None of this works. I also discovered that if I WBLOCK the entire drawing it fixes it for ONE reopen, but becomes corrupted if I save it. This drawing is used as a 'template' (not a .dwt, just a "starting point") for other drawings, so the corruption is spreading.......
I am upgrading to a newr version of AutoCAD soon (hopefully that will fix it?), but this is really slowing down produciton in the meantime....
I'm unable to open or otherwise query an Excel spreadsheet.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI have an assembly that was created on 64 bit version of Inventor 2013, the total file size of everything is around 150MB. Even if I use 'Pack and Go' to move the file to another computer running the 32 bit version I get an error when I try to open it which says something like:
'unable to allocate 3GB memory for FBAttributeSegment'
The actually figure is over 3GB but of course on a 32 bit version of windows it is physically impossible to allocate that amount of memory (even with the /3GB in boot.ini hack)
I've performed various dynamic simulations as well as animations within the assembly so I'm thinking that perhaps its trying to allocate that huge amount of memory for a saved state of one of those.
What FBAtributeSegment might be and whether there is any special way to save an assembly to avoid this problem? The name FBAttributeSegment doesn't correspond to any part or assembly names.
I should also add that I have no problem opening it in a 32 bit version of Fusion which again suggests to me that it is something like simulation or animation that is causing this
I am not able to open Sheet list in Sheet Set Manager.......

Three years ago I created a drawing in which I inserted Hyperlinks into the drawing. When I made a PDF from the drawing the Hyperlinks were still there and worked correctly from the PDF. Not sure which version of AutoCAD this was created from. I am now using 2012 and have tried to repeat the process but when I create the PDF the Hyperlinks are not there.

So I type in CUI at the command line and checked the customization window and it shows the menu as being active. I had no problems in previous versions of AutoCAD.

I have a drawing that seems to be creating a line when the drawing is PDF'd. i have purged, Audited and recovered the drawing and the unbound xref files. The line does not appear in any preview nor in model/paper space. attached is a screenshot of the pdf file.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have created a viewport on a drawing within a layout tab. When I go into paper space the available scale options are in metric units e.g. 1:500. When selecting the scale that I require that should allow the drawing detail to fit within the viewport it is too large even when the smallest scale available (1:5000) should easily be adequate for the detail to fit within the viewport. The detail within model space has been drawn in millimetres.
I guess that some defaults, scaling options are conflicting with each other.
One easy way for I calculate the weight of plates with many holes is creating regions and subtract the cuts as i need and after apply "LIST" command for get value of area . But, i cannot subtract the regions, in command line says :

When I open a file in ACAD2013/ACAD2013LT I can't see some XREFs created in ACAD2012LT. XREF command cannot resove it either. It will show path correctly.

I recently upgraded from map 2008 to civil 3d 2010. Whenever I open a drawing that was last saved/used in my map 2008 program, it freezes upon opening and tells me there are errors. If I ignore the problem, I can continue to open and work on drawing, but every time I open it up, I get the errors and the freeze. Is there something I can do in civil 3d 2010 that will bypass whatever is freezing it up? I have included a drawing that is freezing up in civil 3d 2009 and/or 2010 that was created with map 08
View 4 Replies View RelatedI'm using Illustrator to creat shapes that can be exported as DXF files then taken into a program used in CNC plasma cutting of metal art. I'm able to do this with art work drawn with the pencil tool and blob brush. I also want to do this with the brush tools creating florishes and other shapes. I've been able to take a paint brush drawn line with width, rasterized it, and then image traced it to creat a line shape with handles which allow it to be adjusted however I've not been able to get rid of the selection box, it seems to need to be selected in order to work on the shape, and the drawn lines created when I image traced it seem to be double lines. Also I can't get rid of the box that is drawn when I select the lines so I can use the handles to manipulate the shape. Most important I've not be able to export shapes draw this way as a DXF file.
