Jun 25, 2013I had Inventor 2013 and it worked well for a long time, I didn't use it for a while, then yesterday I tried to use it again and it wouldn't work. It starts up fine, and gets to the menu where you can choose from recent files, new files, tutorials, etc. After I select anything to open, whether its a new or old file, the program will load open the file then immediately stop working. No error message is displayed besides Windows telling me "this program has stopped working". I updated to 2014 yesterday, and the exact same problem persists.

Jul 1, 2013I have been migrating dozens and dozens of .pat files from one version of AutoCAD to the next for many, many versions. Most recently in AutoCAD 2013 the .pat files were stored in the C:Program FilesAutodeskAutoCAD 2013SupportPatterns - worked fine. During the migration to 2014 I received an install error report stating that this subdirectory did not exist and could not be created. Alternately it stated that the new default path C:UsersUsernameAppDataRoamiongAutodesk|AutoCAD 2014R19.1enuSupport will be used instead.
At first I created the Patterns subdirectory where it could not be done automatically. No luck. Then I placed the Patterns subdirectory in C:UsersUsernameAppDataRoamiongAutodesk|AutoCAD 2014R19.1enuSupportPatterns and no luck.

Oct 1, 2013I am running Autocad 2014 on a Windows 7 machine. Everytime a use the open command Autocad appears to freeze. I can clear the freeze by hitting the escape key. The only way I can open drawing files is to use windows explorer and click on the file I want to open.

Dec 3, 2013I have drawings that are saved as ACad 2010 and need to work on them in ACad 2014. I am receiving error messages saying the drawing is damaged and requires recovery. Errors are being detected and some files I can eventually open but edits are missing. Others I am unable to open and I get a message "audit could not correct errors in database".

Some of my users are experiencing a long time to regen & it has caused some peoples computers to freeze up. Is there a setting or a variable that could be causing this? I am not sure if this is an issue with the multileaders or with autocad release 13 or 14 in general. I had the users turn regenauto off until i can find a solution.

Jul 8, 2013When I try to attach a 2013 Excel file into a 2014 drawing I get a message 'You have selected an unsupported DGN File. Only V7 and V8 files are supported.' Cannot attache through the Import command either. I know in past versions you could insert the file and any changes made to the file appeared to the attachment in the drawing.
Is this no longer possible? Surely not, it is way to handy. What am I overlooking to make this happen?

When I use Etransmit or file conversion i get a Fatal Error. when i uninstall the civil 3d object enabler, the problem goes away, but i need the object enabler and i need to convert files. Is this not a major issue that Autodesk would consider important enough to address, or is the object enabler minor in comparison to other issues?

I can select the .dst file, but when it "opens" I onlly have the icon in the seet set manager and nothing else, it is entirely blank.
I made a new sheet set, but now older versions of AutoCAD cannot read that one.

Error Message reads "The file is open for editing by another user. If you open the file, you cannot save changes until the user closes is. In this case, your changes will overwrite the user's changes. What do you want to do?"
The file is NOT open by another user though.
I realize LT does not allow worksharing, but I assumed that was multiple users working on the same file at the same time. We need to open files one at a time, but by different users.

However every file that is converted into a PDF file is opened by a PDF Viewer. We want to prevent this.
I opened my *.pc3 file and removed the check from the appropriate box. See below
I press OK, then save the file and close. However when I reopen the file, I see the box for Openining in PDF Viewer has been rechecked. No matter what I do, I cannot permanently remove the check from this box.

Jun 10, 2012When I have 2 files open, one minimized and the other visible on the screen, when I quit the file showing on the screen and then open the one that was minimized, it comes up w/a blank black screen. There is no way I have found to get the info in the file to display.
Then, if I save the blank screenof previously minimized file, close it then reopen it the info is back on screen with changes made to the file intact.

Sep 12, 2013so i recently started taking an architect autocad class. our first project was nothing special but for some reason whenever i save it on my removeable usb after working on it at home, it wont open on the schools computer. it doesnt open as the specific file i wanted, but instead it opens up a blank file named drawing1.dwg. the file name does not even come up at the top of the screen.

Our DWG files are stored in a shared folder, and we use a Lotus Notes DataBase to browse for drawings as you can put information with the DB Entry.
When you click Open drawing IE 8 pops up but the window is blank. PDF's open fine in IE 8.

a) renaming the .bak file as a dwg and opening it.
b) inserting the file in a new drawing
c) inserting the file as an xref in the new drawing
d) using recover to recover and fix the file
e) using recover to open the backup file
f) using the partial open command to open the file.

Aug 7, 2013I've recently been sent an IGS file via a secure file transfer site. Accessed the site, downloaded the file no problem but can't open it in ACad.
I've been advised to use the IMPORT command but this hasn't worked either, just provides me with the pop up saying only V7 & V8 are supported, see screen shot below.
Do I need to purchase a specific piece of software (plug in) to allow me to open the file?
