Jun 25, 2013I had Inventor 2013 and it worked well for a long time, I didn't use it for a while, then yesterday I tried to use it again and it wouldn't work. It starts up fine, and gets to the menu where you can choose from recent files, new files, tutorials, etc. After I select anything to open, whether its a new or old file, the program will load open the file then immediately stop working. No error message is displayed besides Windows telling me "this program has stopped working". I updated to 2014 yesterday, and the exact same problem persists.

May 2, 2013I had a file which, opened with Civil 3D 2013, worked fine, but one of the SID images disappeared and was shown as "corrupt" in the same drawing opened in Civil 3D 2014.
The problem was that the file name contained a character in a font not recognized by R2014. (The file name was G1105001_095-ps 12_5æ.sid) Once I renamed the file and re-attached it in 2014 it worked fine. 2013 processes this font type with no problem.

They told me Inventor fusion is not an easy tool and would prefered to use inventor files.

Errors are being detected and some files I can eventually open but edits are missing. Others I am unable to open and I get a message "audit could not correct errors in database".

It would appear that (almost) without exception, the failed files are all Content Center parts that were inserted as custom parts. Do I need to run a migration on the Content Center parts (Inventor/ContentCenter Files/R2013/en-US) in order for the custom parts to migrate properly?

I can select the .dst file, but when it "opens" I onlly have the icon in the seet set manager and nothing else, it is entirely blank.
I made a new sheet set, but now older versions of AutoCAD cannot read that one.

May 4, 2012I have just upgraded to AutoCAD 2013. Now I have one AutoCAD 2013 and five copies of AutoCAD LT 2009. A strange problem started ovccuring after starting using of AutoCAD 2013. Quite a lot of files done with LT 2009 are not opening in AutoCAD 2013. When you tru to open this file, nothing happens and a blank new drawing is opened by AutoCAD 2013.
I have DWG TrueView from release 2010 to 2012. These files opened perfectly well in 2010 & 2012. So I downloded DWG TrueView 2013 and installed it to check whter my AutoCAD 2013 installation was faulty. These files do not open in DWG TrueView 2013 also.
I tried exporting the file to DXF in LT 2009 and then tried to open the DXF file in 2013. It gave a message that it could not read the file. The odd fact is that it is not happening with every file done in LT 2009. Some open and some do not.
In my opinion, this seems to be a serious bug in 2013. Any body else experinecing this? I am unable to attach any file as all the files are larger than 2 MB even after zipped and I cannot upload such a big file here.

During the migration to 2014 I received an install error report stating that this subdirectory did not exist and could not be created. Alternately it stated that the new default path C:UsersUsernameAppDataRoamiongAutodesk|AutoCAD 2014R19.1enuSupport will be used instead.
At first I created the Patterns subdirectory where it could not be done automatically. No luck. Then I placed the Patterns subdirectory in C:UsersUsernameAppDataRoamiongAutodesk|AutoCAD 2014R19.1enuSupportPatterns and no luck.

Dec 20, 2013Happens every year. Upgrade and spend half a day or more trying to get everything back to the way I had it. All I have is a couple small toolbars for commands that are several clicks deep in the ribbons and I want them "right there" all the time.
I thought Autodesk 360 might be a good tool for this. All it did was DOWNLOAD some old settings and destroy one of the toolbars I'd created. They really need an override in there to specify upload, download, overwrite or don't.
I'm trying to migrate (I guess that's the technical term) my settings from 2013 Mechanical to 2014 Mechanical. It's probably too late already, after 360 did its deal, but I really want to get this down so we don't go through it every year anymore.
I maintain that PTC had this part of it down Pro/ENGINEER. You had a config file that was editable plain text.

Apr 17, 2013I have just recently installed AutoCAD LT 2014 on Windows 7 (Running on an intel iMac through Bootcamp). Ever since then i am receiving notifications when performing a save.
AutoCAD is telling me it cannot perform the save and is creating a .tmp file in the same location on the server as the file should be.
this is causing major performance issues and happens almost every second time I attempt to perform a save. The issue is that we are getting multiple versions of the same file duplicating on the file server which is very quickly going to cause capacity issues considering most files are 2-4mb in size.

Feb 10, 2013I'm using Maya 2013 SP2 on a MacBook Pro running 19.8.2. When trying to load 32-bit floating point OpenEXR or Tiff files for displacement maps I will invariably get the following error:

The proper OpenEXRLoader and tiffFloatReader bundles are loaded in the Plug-in Manager and the very same files open without issue on Maya 2013 on my Win7 machine. It seems this is OSX specific.

Sep 27, 2013We just recieved 2014 C3D upgrade from 2012. I opened a 2012 dwg and saved in the 2013 file format. now when i attempt to open the drawing in 2014, C3D freezes while loading the drawing. It can't seem to get past "reading triangles from file". Weird thing is i can open a copy of the original 2012 DWG and work for minutes or hours in 2014 saving many times along the way and if i close the DWG and attemp to re-open, it freezes up everytime. I have done this same procedure with other DWG's and don't have any issues.
