AutoCAD LT 2014...Any way to turn off the bar near the top that shows what drawings I have open? I like to use a clean looking CAD screen and this is an entire line of stuff I don't need to see. Yes, I'm still using the AutoCAD LT classic workspace (modified of course).

I'm having an issue with my cad files that were done with Civil 3D 2012. When we made the jump to Civil 3D 2014 all my drawings seem to be corrupt. Now I have pipe networks in my base file. I have tired recovering and recoverall but no luck. I can send the CAD file.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI open two different drawings, I'll call X and Y. I make X current. Using the setting tabs of the prospector I go to Y drawing and click the plus and open the styles i want to insert into X drawing. So for example I open <General <Label Styles <Note Elevation and drag that style into my X drawing. I go and look at my X drawing <General <Label Styles <Note and see that Elevation is not there.
I have tried using AeccImportStylesAndSettings and also I'm running the sincpac which has an import civil styles function that does not work either. I went to a co-workers machine and he can get the styles import function to work just fine.
why I may not be able to get this to work? I even tried to create a new layout from template and still could not get beyond the styles that are default to my current drawing. My only option is to create the styles manually and that is, well, not an option.
We have a persistant blue screen. Stop Error 0x124 and 0x122.

Ever since we installed CAD LT 2014 we have persistant BsoDs on two PC's.
I have tried the GFX Hotfix. Seem to work for 2 weeks and now again a stop error 0x122.
The PC drivers are up to date, latest BIOS, all possible updates that are availible are install, even tried to disable the InfoCentre.
We did do clean Installs, swopped hardware. It keeps happening on 2 of the 8 PC's we have.
Would watching movies in the background have an effect? I am at the end of my diagnosis.
There are no hardware failure when running benchmarks or burn in tools. Only in CAD
I am running the new auto cad civil 3d 2014, downloaded from the design suite premium. I have left all of the programs installed (as a I saw that a few people chose to uninstall several of the programs). I am running auto cad on an @xi workstation, 4.1ghz processor, 16gb corsair vengence heatspred ram, 240gb ssd operating drive, 2tb storage raid 0 configuration storage drives, NVIDIA K2000 graphics card. It took me a while to configure the graphics settings within auto cad due to the high resolution, text is being portayed as small in some cases, commands are huge in others.
I am still adjusting all of those, however my real problem is that when I open certain drawings the program immediatly goes to not responding, and when I am working back and forth and trying to open multiple drawings it does the same. Just opening the program off of my desktop on a cold-start up takes maybe 15 seconds to be fully functional, the same with certain drawings. However others just seem to not want to be opened. This occurs with drawings large and small. Some large drawings open perfectly while some small ones crash, and vice versa. What could be the cause of this?
It's not just the layer that isn't being displayed in the Properties Palette. My 2014 Properties Palette isn't contextual--displays only the general info--none of the object specific information.

I can switch back and forth between representations in the assemby and the sub-assemblies go on and off, but drawing views where I've selected a given representation still show the "invisible" assemblies.

I have a drawing that I created (.dwg) in Inventor 2013 that, when opened, is completely blank. However, when in the File>Open dialog box, I can click on the name of the drawing and the preview shows the complete drawing with all views fully dimensioned. I closed Inventor, laucned AutoCAD and tried opening the same file and it was still blank (no views). I then closed that file and open the old version of the file from the, "OldVersions" folder with Autocad and all the views and dimensions were there.
So I launced Inventor again and reopened the offending print and noticed that the model is not shown in the drawing's model tree. I'm 100% positive that I did not delete this model/view from the drawing before saving the file. This is a small drawing and it will only take me a few mintues to recreate it.
I'm using Inventor 2013, SP1.1

on my initial start up, after installing the program, i've been getting this fatal error, "FATAL ERROR: Unhandled access violation reading 0x0000 exception at 92af22dh". I un-installed and re-installed and it still occurs. can't open the program. I'm using windows xp.

Drawing is normal if based on .iam.
Only one part of the assembly is the problem. Other parts, also with trimming surfaces, are shown normal.

I have a drawing that I created with acad 2010 that has a pdf xref attached. I just updated to 2013. And now when I go to plot the drawing my xref shows up in preview but doesn't show up on the plot.
I can go back to my 2010 version, and it plots fine. What gives?
In the right upper corner of autosek Invetor 2014 is a button wich says New (NEU = German) if i click there the window gets bright gray and says no response (keine Rückmeldung) ... i started the Laptop several times but it never Works.

View 1 Replies View RelatedWe just recieved 2014 C3D upgrade from 2012. I opened a 2012 dwg and saved in the 2013 file format. now when i attempt to open the drawing in 2014, C3D freezes while loading the drawing. It can't seem to get past "reading triangles from file". Weird thing is i can open a copy of the original 2012 DWG and work for minutes or hours in 2014 saving many times along the way and if i close the DWG and attemp to re-open, it freezes up everytime. I have done this same procedure with other DWG's and don't have any issues.

One of our Dell workstations has recently decided it will no longer save our CAD drawings to the network. Never had this issue before this week, haven't changed anything that we are aware of. No one else is having network issues. We have connected the computer to a different network outlet at another station, that has no effect on the problem.
When you attempt to save, if you watch the command line it will tell you "Cannot save drawing to K/Work Order/Project/drawing name.dwg, saved copy to K/Work Order//Project/(misc letters and numbers).tmp"
It then deletes the original drawing from its location and saves this temp file.
clipping 3D Drawing views and 2. chaging the hatch pattern/scale in the sectional Drawing views that the generated automatically when hatch option is on. A last question is whether Sectional Drawing view is better than a section generated with section plane.

View 7 Replies View RelatedIt was working fine. Then I just did a simple command (pattern a part) and the entire workspace blinked out. The first time it happened I hit UNDO and it was back. So I got out of the drawing and got back in and tried the pattern again. Same issue but this time when I hit UNDO it would not come back. I closed the file without saving and when I went back in the file the workspace is still nothing but white screen. In the browser everything is still visible except for those that I had already changed to invisible. I tried making an invisible to visible and nothing happened. I got out and tried opening the "old version" which should've been before any of this happened and it is also blank. I can go to an ipt or iam in the browser and hit open and it will open in another screen just fine. I just can't see my main assembly. I have Inventor 2012. It shows no errors or messages. I have even rebooted.
I looked thru the forum and found a past issue back in 2005 identical. I tried doing Find in Window on an item in the browser but for some reason that option is not even in the list when I right click.
I recently created a grading file in autocad civil 3d 2014 that contains grading objects. When I try to open the file on another computer that is using autocad civil 3d 2013, the file will not open and I get a fatal error. I audited, purged, recovered and tried about everything.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI have a 2011 template drawing that I've added all the information to that I know about how to survey in C3D. I've used it for a few years now and it works great for us. We now have to update it for used in 2014. IT has told me that I need to create a new 2014 drawing and bring the 2011 styles, groups, etc. into it that way. I used the management import tool to do this in 2014. Seems like all the styles, etc. came over just fine. Any way to test whether or not the template drawing has any garbage in it, such as purging and auditing, so all the bad stuff is gone? C3D - 2014

about 3 days ago for some reason my cad is really slow when i have two drawings open at the same time. it lags when i am panning or zooming.
it just started randomly and the computer i am using is new and started using it about 6 months ago and it has been fine since i got it except for the past few days.
it doesn't matter what drawing file is open it lags. RAM is alot (8gigs) again this just started happening randomly. everything else is fine

I'm trying to add a block with an attribute to a drawing. The command works if there is only one drawing open, but when there are other open drawings then the block doesn't appear. Strangely if I select the block in the block editor and then close the block editor the block suddenly appears. Do you know what is causing the block to not appear when other drawings are open?
I included the code below. "s1" works but "s2" has the strange behavior of the block not being visible.
