I created a new pull down menu in AutoCAD 2011 and everytime I close out of AutoCAD or switch workspaces it disappears from the Menu bar. So I type in CUI at the command line and checked the customization window and it shows the menu as being active. I had no problems in previous versions of AutoCAD.

I've created a new art Brush: New brush>Art Brush> and made my selections and clicked ok. The brush then shows in the brush palette where I have access to use it but then when I close the document and reopen a new one the brush dissapears. Where did it go and how do I get it back??
Not sure where I am going wrong in saving the brush.
My dock and top menus have completely disappeared in Adoby LR (both 4 and the new 5) and I cannot get them to stay permenantly. Super annoying and this only happened after my Maverick upgrade. I contacted Apple, but the issue is ONLY with Lightroom -- not any other program, so Apple thinks it's an Adobe bug.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI recently upgraded to 2012 but forgot to install the express tools, Doh!. I installed them through control panel repair and everything works. Except when I close and restart ACAD the menu bar express menu disappears. I can bring it back by using cuiload but this is not ideal. Any way to get it to stick?

i created a menu called "NO." with 4 items under it "1","2","3","4"
my question is :How can i insert icon for items under this menu?
Any way I can insert a drawing, via pulldown menu from a created cui, and not have to hit enter 3x in a row. I would like to see if there is a way to bypass having to enter an x and y scale factor and rotation.

How can you edit the bitmap in Photoshop ? And get it the edit Bitmap menu functioning ?
Whenever I maximize a document in Illu. CS6 it overrides the application menu! It simply covers my whole screen making it impossible to reach my menues unless i drag the documents corners to make it smaller or click the minimize icon.
View 12 Replies View RelatedJust recently we upgraded from ACAD 2010 to 2011. Some users are still on XP and some are on Windows 7. Since we began making the jump to ACAD 2011, we have begun to notice more and more drawings popping up with blocks no longer visible that were there the day before. When you go to the block editor, the block definition is still there but all of the geometry has been blown away. The only entity that seems to be immune is an attribute. The only commonality among the various drawings this is happening too is that they are all being accessed from an XP machine. Some folks have had to spend hours restoring all the blocks that were lost and that in itself was a challenge because ACAD already saw the definition so it would continue to blow away the geometry. You could purge the block IF you could find a way to pick it and delete it.
View 5 Replies View RelatedWhen I edit my text it disappears. I have attached an image of the problem. This only affects my machine in my company - I have checked colour settings with others and theirs are the same as mine only theirs works
The text is set to white/black colour 7 and the sheet layout is set to white. I have tried different text colours and I still can't see them.
As you can see from the top image I have a background mask that is set to the drawing sheet colour which is white When I double click in the text to edit it the text disappears (bottom image) as if the mask is appearing in front of the text which it shouldn't do.
The only way to be able to view the text is to switch the background mask off - but I want to avoid this as I have to keep switching it on again.
I get the same problem if inserting a new table and having to edit the cells. However here there is no way to switch the background mask off as there is no button that I can see to switch it on and off.
At no specific time when using ACAD 2012 MEP the cursor disappears. cross hairs and all. the only way to get them back is to close ACAD and open it back up.
View 4 Replies View Relatedi'm having problem with array tool in acad2012. i draw a line, type array and hit enter. i put everything normally and hit enter when it says Enter to accept. then the line and arrayed object disappears. i don't know what's wrong with it. layers and everything is just as usual.
i did some other arrays in the same file before and they are working with no problem.
It has happened repeatedly, but on different occasions, that the close file X that should be in the top right position of the drawing has vanished. In other drawings that are open at the same time the X in present...Switching between drawings often brings the X back, but this is a weird bug that was not present before the 2012 release.

When i use panning in 2D mode the drawing disappears from my viewport. Autocad and all tools are still visible but there is nothing in drawing screen. When i zoom extent(z+e) it comes back again but in a couple minutes it disappears again while i am panning.

When I made a PDF from the drawing the Hyperlinks were still there and worked correctly from the PDF. Not sure which version of AutoCAD this was created from. I am now using 2012 and have tried to repeat the process but when I create the PDF the Hyperlinks are not there.

View 8 Replies View RelatedI have created a viewport on a drawing within a layout tab. When I go into paper space the available scale options are in metric units e.g. 1:500. When selecting the scale that I require that should allow the drawing detail to fit within the viewport it is too large even when the smallest scale available (1:5000) should easily be adequate for the detail to fit within the viewport. The detail within model space has been drawn in millimetres.
I guess that some defaults, scaling options are conflicting with each other.
One easy way for I calculate the weight of plates with many holes is creating regions and subtract the cuts as i need and after apply "LIST" command for get value of area . But, i cannot subtract the regions, in command line says :

Is it possible to attache a PCG file created with ACAD 2013 in ACAD 2012? I ask because I keep getting the message "the point cloud data file is not valid!". I have tried using both x86 and x64 and get the same error. I have also tried with ACAD 2011 and get the same error. The file was created from a Leica PTS file.

Whenever I open a drawing that was last saved/used in my map 2008 program, it freezes upon opening and tells me there are errors. If I ignore the problem, I can continue to open and work on drawing, but every time I open it up, I get the errors and the freeze. Is there something I can do in civil 3d 2010 that will bypass whatever is freezing it up? I have included a drawing that is freezing up in civil 3d 2009 and/or 2010 that was created with map 08

In the process of updating our drawings, we realized that we could not use BLOCKREPLACE to replace dynamic blocks with another dynamic block (with new name) once the dynamic element has been changed. I realize that this changes the state of the block and anonymous block names are created.
I need a simple solution so that members of my group can easily replace dynamic blocks with new dynamic blocks.
I am trying to create a tube by sweeping a circle along a spline. I read many of the previous discussion threads on the topic but I still have some issues.
I first created my spline and transformed it in a polyline (some people recommended to do it). Then I created the circle. Finally I sweep the circle along the path.
The issues are the following:
1) when I look at the tube using the 2D wireframe mode, I can see that the primitives are not completely regular. In some points there are weird intersections and I don't know how I can fix them.
2) I hoped the tube was solid. However, when I exported (as .IGS) it and see in another program, I realized that it has only two circular caps at the extremities of the tube, but inside it is hollow.
I tried to transform it in solid or mesh or whatever, but it always gives me an error, saying that the object cannot be converted.
I have a drawing with exsisting multileaders in it.
I am trying to apply the match properties to a newly created multileader but it isn't working.
Whenever I insert a block into my drawing from the Tool Palette, Autocad creates a Text Style and Dimension Style,both named Annotative. This happens on any drawing, with any block.
I can purge them after the block has been inserted. They are NOT nested in the blocks. I have tried recreated the tool. Nothing seems to be working.
The AutoCAD doesn’t show the “intersect osnap” at certain zoom!
The “intersection osnap” between a “hatched rectangle” and a “DASHDOT2” line appears and disappears depending on the amount of zoom!
As I zoom out the “intersection osnap” appears but when I zoom in, it disappears

I’m wondering why the “leader” of the “dimension text” disappears when the text is moved.
How can I control this setting?

While being distracted while working, I inadvertently kept my finger on a key (forget which one), heard a little BEEP, and now my Right Click FlyOut Menu is going somewhere I don't need it to go to. I am getting the 'Snap" options box
instead of 'Last Command' Options Box.

View 6 Replies View RelatedI am updating a user to ACADM 2010 from R14. His actual R14 menu was customized so that the menu bar shows 'File' 'Drawings', 'Options', 'Edit', 'View', etc. from left to right. So far I have been able to get the 'Drawings' and 'Options' added to the classic 2010 menu.
However, the 'Drawings' and 'Options' show clear the right of 'Help' (see attachment). I need to get them moved over to a position between 'File' and 'Edit'.
These are drop downs with 5 to 6 levels. Having them on the right makes them look very messy because the cross back and forth.
