AutoCAD 2010 :: Drawing Disappears While Panning In 2D Mode
May 7, 2012
When i use panning in 2D mode the drawing disappears from my viewport. Autocad and all tools are still visible but there is nothing in drawing screen. When i zoom extent(z+e) it comes back again but in a couple minutes it disappears again while i am panning.
I guess because the view is actually saved, but is there a way to disable view saving or any other way that an UNCHANGED drawing does not ask me to save?
This is related to the option to combine zoom and pan actions in undo, but what I really want is to remove them from undo completely. That way if you zoom out you could see what changes, and you wouldn't LOSE THE ABILITY TO REDO by zooming.
Optimally, AUTOCAD could ask for each drawing whether it should save, and then save the ones that you selected, together. This way you could just leave the application to save and tab to something else
I'd be really happy to see this option in future releases. Because when you undo you can't always see the change, and being able to zoom/pan independently of the action history would mean that you can look at the drawing without losing the latest drawing.
Wow, Max 2012 is buggy as hell! I keep finding bug after bug after bug.
I have both Service packs and hotfixes applied. When I enter Wireframe mode while panning I cannot go back to Shaded mode. Try it yourself - make sure you are in Shaded mode, click and hold the middle mouse button and pan around without releasing it. Then press F3 while still panning to go into Wireframe mode and then release the middle mouse button. Now if you try to go back into shaded you can't! Unless you manually go and change it through the viewport options in the top left corner of the viewport.
this in an issue ive noticed for a long time now across a few versions of ACAD, not sure whats causing it. When i try to draw an XLINE sometimes the command will get locked into either horizontal or vertical mode, without me choosing that option. seems to based on the OSNAP pickpoint i grab maybe.
attached are pics of the process.
i run XLINE, pick endpoint and bam, its locked into horizontal mode, very annoying if im trying to make a vertical and horizontal line based off the same point.
When I pan around a drawing by holding down the scroll wheel of the mouse button, I sometimes pan quite slowly, AutoCAD decides to zoom to extents. I know I have not double clicked the scroll wheel.
i inserted an areas image with geomap but as i zoom cloce the image disapears and i get a tile with a white image of a camera. can i disable it? it is very annoying.i dont care if i loose ressolution if i get closer .why autodesk did that?
My laptop died recently and I had to get a new one then reinstall my AutoCAD 2010 software. Trouble is the mouse wheel no longer zooms or, when held down, pans any more. I have spent the last couple of hours trying to sort this but to no avail - nothing happens when I use the mousewheel at all. SO frustrating as I use this all the time!
I run Windows 7 Pro OS and the mouse is a fairly basic HP model with two buttons and a wheel. (maybe I need to upgrade the thing...!)
I am trying to select some portion of my drawing for layer change, but when I panning the view for additional selection, I lost the grips of first selected entities.
I have two drawings A and B. I work in A and I need some design elements from B.
When I open the drawing B everything I have in drawing A disappeared. I refer to all elements of design (blocks, lines, polylines, etc.).
After studying the issue have concluded that the design of all elements were automatically isolated. Right click> Isolate> End Object Isolation and everything reappears in drawing A.
I mention that I installed Autocad Map 3D 2012 x64 on Windows 7 x64 and work in Map Classic Workspace using the same coordinate system in both drawings.
Below is the image of my ribbon after I begin the edit boundary command for a floor slab. For some reason the ability to finish or cancel the edit mode disappears and I'm unable to close out of the command without undoing everything I've done.
When I turn on shadow or realistic mode in 3ds max my model disappears, but it will show in wireframe. How can I fix this? to see it in realistic I have to render it and it comes out fine.
All of a sudden my cursor will become invisible. This happens only with AutoCAD. and if I switch between drawing windows it will appear on another drawing file. I have to close the drawing and open it again and then the cursor will be back only to disappear again. The cursor is visible if I move it back to the ribbon or bottom controls. It seems to happen only when it becomes the cross-hair cursor. I can still make selection windows and right click.
Mouse is working fine with all other programs and drivers are up-to-date.
Just recently we upgraded from ACAD 2010 to 2011. Some users are still on XP and some are on Windows 7. Since we began making the jump to ACAD 2011, we have begun to notice more and more drawings popping up with blocks no longer visible that were there the day before. When you go to the block editor, the block definition is still there but all of the geometry has been blown away. The only entity that seems to be immune is an attribute. The only commonality among the various drawings this is happening too is that they are all being accessed from an XP machine. Some folks have had to spend hours restoring all the blocks that were lost and that in itself was a challenge because ACAD already saw the definition so it would continue to blow away the geometry. You could purge the block IF you could find a way to pick it and delete it.
When I edit my text it disappears. I have attached an image of the problem. This only affects my machine in my company - I have checked colour settings with others and theirs are the same as mine only theirs works
The text is set to white/black colour 7 and the sheet layout is set to white. I have tried different text colours and I still can't see them.
As you can see from the top image I have a background mask that is set to the drawing sheet colour which is white When I double click in the text to edit it the text disappears (bottom image) as if the mask is appearing in front of the text which it shouldn't do.
The only way to be able to view the text is to switch the background mask off - but I want to avoid this as I have to keep switching it on again.
I get the same problem if inserting a new table and having to edit the cells. However here there is no way to switch the background mask off as there is no button that I can see to switch it on and off.
At no specific time when using ACAD 2012 MEP the cursor disappears. cross hairs and all. the only way to get them back is to close ACAD and open it back up.
I created a new pull down menu in AutoCAD 2011 and everytime I close out of AutoCAD or switch workspaces it disappears from the Menu bar. So I type in CUI at the command line and checked the customization window and it shows the menu as being active. I had no problems in previous versions of AutoCAD.
i'm having problem with array tool in acad2012. i draw a line, type array and hit enter. i put everything normally and hit enter when it says Enter to accept. then the line and arrayed object disappears. i don't know what's wrong with it. layers and everything is just as usual.
i did some other arrays in the same file before and they are working with no problem.
It has happened repeatedly, but on different occasions, that the close file X that should be in the top right position of the drawing has vanished. In other drawings that are open at the same time the X in present...Switching between drawings often brings the X back, but this is a weird bug that was not present before the 2012 release.
Drawing disappear after using a dynamic block's stretch parameter?
I’ve made fairly simple dynamic blocks with lines or leaders that can be stretched and some attribute text. After moving the stretch grip of the block the block will disappear. If I then do a regen the entire drawing disappears. But it seems to be only a graphical glitch based on the fact that I can then save the disappeared drawing, reopen it and everything is up to date. I can even see my devious little dynamic blocks. But of course if I try to edit them everything will disappear again.
I have a library of blocks that I built for our company to use. We recently upgraded from 2013 to 2014 and boy did it throw our library for a loop!
There is a check box (reflectivity) that leaves the materials black when the drawing shade mode is changed to Realistic (unless you go in and uncheck the reflectivity box) and while I have figured out how to alleviate that issue (by unchecking it on our tempate and saving it) I am still having a materials issue with our blocks.
I can open the block (and turn on Realistic mode) and all the pieces have their materials like they should. I then open a new drawing and insert the same block into the drawing .. one piece is sans material.
I cannot for the life of me figure out why it's there on one drawing but it gone when inserted. The new drawing has been purged and doens't contain anything it shouldn't.
Starting a drawing which now needs a revision. Can't for the life of me find a revision cloud tool to mark up a change. This is the feature in SW [URL].......
Somewhere along the lines I must have clicked something to lock my views in drawing mode once I place them because after placement I cannot click and drag them around anymore...
I'm dreaming of a Macro to automate the following process that we use every day. We use it to highlight connectors so people can build our product easier.
We manually do the following:
In a drawing view we select a whole set of components (the connectors). Afterwards we change the color to green (using properties) & press hidden lines. This way you can clearly see where you need to place the connectors.
-> see .pdf attached with some pictures making it all clear
I'm being busy to create the code for this but I'm stuck over adding occurrences to a selection set so I can then apply the hidden line command
This is my code so far:
Sub AutoColor()'Step 1 Select a drawing view ' Get the active drawing document. Dim drawDoc As DrawingDocument Set drawDoc = ThisApplication.ActiveDocument ' Have the user select a drawing view. Dim drawView As DrawingView Set drawView = ThisApplication.CommandManager.Pick(kDrawingViewFilter, "Select a drawing view.") Dim docDesc As DocumentDescriptor Set docDesc = drawView.ReferencedDocumentDescriptor ' Verify that the selected drawing view is of an assembly.
[code]....
Step 1 works
Step 3 works
Step 4 & 5 are for a later moment
Step 2 calls the sub "SelectOCC". this sub cycles true the occurrences, I can filter them on file location so I only get the components needed (the connectors). In theory it should be possible to add the given occurrences to the selection set so I can run Step 3 afterwards on it.
But I don't succeed in doing this, I've tried countless of methods but without success.
