Apr 19, 2012I am trying to select some portion of my drawing for layer change, but when I panning the view for additional selection, I lost the grips of first selected entities.

Dec 21, 2012My Object Snap settings will not stay "set". Each day i have to reset the options i wish for each dwg i open up that day. also the settings do not stay set even when working on same dwg for several hours. Every couple hours i have to reset them to my options.

May 7, 2012When i use panning in 2D mode the drawing disappears from my viewport. Autocad and all tools are still visible but there is nothing in drawing screen. When i zoom extent(z+e) it comes back again but in a couple minutes it disappears again while i am panning.

Mar 23, 2012My laptop died recently and I had to get a new one then reinstall my AutoCAD 2010 software. Trouble is the mouse wheel no longer zooms or, when held down, pans any more. I have spent the last couple of hours trying to sort this but to no avail - nothing happens when I use the mousewheel at all. SO frustrating as I use this all the time!
I run Windows 7 Pro OS and the mouse is a fairly basic HP model with two buttons and a wheel. (maybe I need to upgrade the thing...!)
AutoCad 2D :: Can't See Object(s) Rotate In Real Time When Rotating Using Grips
Jan 30, 2012I like to think of myself as pretty competent in AutoCAD but I can't figure this one out for the life of me...
I hope I can explain this clearly: When I rotate an object using grips, the object is not shown spinning in real time. I select the object, pick the object's grip, hit <Enter> <Enter> to go into the rotate command and the object will rotate maybe 45^ or so and freeze (visually).
If I use the command line "Rotate" command, the selected object(s) spin in real time or if I use grips to rotate but then use an object snap, it begins to spin in real time for some reason.
I would like to use grips to rotate my objects and be able to see them rotate (like I used to in previous releases).
I have ACAD Civil 3D 2010.
AutoCAD 2010 :: Unchanged Drawing Is Changed By Zooming / Panning
Jul 21, 2010I guess because the view is actually saved, but is there a way to disable view saving or any other way that an UNCHANGED drawing does not ask me to save?
This is related to the option to combine zoom and pan actions in undo, but what I really want is to remove them from undo completely. That way if you zoom out you could see what changes, and you wouldn't LOSE THE ABILITY TO REDO by zooming.
Optimally, AUTOCAD could ask for each drawing whether it should save, and then save the ones that you selected, together. This way you could just leave the application to save and tab to something else
I'd be really happy to see this option in future releases. Because when you undo you can't always see the change, and being able to zoom/pan independently of the action history would mean that you can look at the drawing without losing the latest drawing.
AutoCAD 2010 :: Variable For Stretching With Grips?
Jun 24, 2011know of a variable which controls how stretching with grips works. I've got a single machine with Autodesk Architecture 2012 that when I select a grip and move it, then type a dimension in the command line, that the line becomes the dimension I typed, not the amount I moved it. For example, If i have 10" line, select and end grip, stretch it +3 inches or -3 inches, the line becomes an absolute of 3 inches. On all other machines, the line would either become 13" or 7".

Feb 25, 2012I use to be able to stretch a line by using the end grip and typing 50 , this would extend the line by 50 units
The problem i now have is that if i do the same thing thing , the line instead of strecting 50 units the line becomes 50 units long in total

Jan 3, 2012Whenever I create a new layer in the Layer Manager, and I set the color, the color reverts back to whatever it defaulted to when I created the new layer - usually the color of that layer that is current, since everything is just duplicated.
To fix it I have to go back into Layer Manager and set the color a second time.

Mar 29, 2012I have a drawing where i am not able to select multiple grips using shift/pick to make the grips "hot". I'm not able to make even one of the grips of a poly line "hot". Jun 18, 2012I have a block that I would like make dynamic. It is a fishhook arrow for a roundabout traffic sign. I would like to rotate the head to various angles, and have the body of the arrow adjust. I already have the ability to stretch the two end points in their direction, and rotate the head, but the curved part of the arrow body needs to adjust for the new head location. I tried dynamic stretch, but it would not attach to the rotate dimension. How do I get these arcs to stretch along their radii and associate the end arc points to the near end of arrow head?
I had one thought of using multipe arcs so that they would overlap more or less as rotated, but this is a pretty crude workaround.

Jun 17, 2013I am trying to rig a HumanIK character so that both of his hands will stay attached to an object (gun, sword, bat, golf club, etc.). I can get the object parented to one of the hands and it follows along as expected, but cannot for the life of me figure out how to get the other hand to automatically stay attached to the object or follow it.
I've tried parent, point, orientation, etc., constraints using locators, the IK effector itself (wrist) and a few other things. It seems the HumanIK programming keeps a firm hold on the effectors and won't let anything other than the software drive them.
My HumanIK rig is properly setup and its definition locked. Using Maya 2013.

May 1, 2012I recently upgraded to 2012 but forgot to install the express tools, Doh!. I installed them through control panel repair and everything works. Except when I close and restart ACAD the menu bar express menu disappears. I can bring it back by using cuiload but this is not ideal. Any way to get it to stick?
