I have a drawing where i am not able to select multiple grips using shift/pick to make the grips "hot". I'm not able to make even one of the grips of a poly line "hot". However, while trying to solve the problem, i've opened another drawing where i AM able to make grips "hot". It doesn't appear to be a system setting issue.
View 6 RepliesSo this really doesn't have much to do with objects in a drawing. Say for instance, I go into the PURGE dialogue box, and I want to select multiple layers to purge, but not all of them. If I click a layer, and the hold CTRL and click other layers, the only one that stays highlighted is the one I just clicked...so using CTRL doesn't allow me to highlight multiple entities at the same time.
It's gets a little more weird using SHIFT. The conventional SHIFT method (works in Windows Explorer and other applications) is clicking an object, holding SHIFT, and then clicking another object further down the list...this will highlight both of those entities clicked, plus every single entitiy in between them. In AutoCAD (use the PURGE dialogue box again for reference), if I click an object, hold SHIFT and click an object down the list, it will highlight the last object clicked and everything in between the two, but it will deselect the original object. Also, if I use SHIFT to select multiple objects, and then go back to the original that was deselected and hold CTRL to select it, the last object that was selected using SHIFT gets deselected.
I have a sketch with two circles.I'm placing an extrude the two sides go.I save the item and place it in a assy.Under Feature Priority I select Select Feature Priority.I select the item, right mouse click and want to select 3D Grips and want to use the component on both sides to extend.Only now it is not possible to select 3D Grips.
If I use the same sketch and I extrude one side then it is possible to use the 3D Grips to select the component to extend.
Right now, when i click one object and then another, the first object becomes deselected. Holding shift is the only way for me to select multiple lines right now (other than dragging of course) but that's not what I'm used to and it annoys me a lot. At first everything is fine but then after a while it does this without me changing any options at all.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI'm using corel draw X5, I can't move object if I select "Traditional CorelDRAW" option for ctrl/shift keys, under Pick Tool menu in options window.
If I choose "Windows Standard", I'll be able to move the objects. But I don't like this behavior, because the way it draws new objects, anchoring them in center, instead of upper left corner.
This bug started just after I change this option, "just for curiosity". I wish I never discovered it. How can I solve it? I want to set ctrl / shift behavior to "Traditional CorelDraw" AND be able to move objects.
I have a PSPIMAGE file with a plenty of images as different layers. I am adjusting the images having one image "size" as reference (make same width and height). But I could select the multiple images just through layers pallete
whether is possible to select multiple pictures (each in different layer) by using the "pick tool" direct in the canvas (or other means)?
I know this problem is really simple, but I just can't seem to get it to work. I should be able to left-click on a layer, hold in the shift key while left-clicking on a layer further down the list to select multiple layers. It doesn't work, I can't even get the (Alt-Left Click) command to work, allowing me to select individual layers.
Both these commands work in Image Ready and Flash just fine.
I have checked the keyboard settings, but I am not really sure what to look for - nothing seems out of the ordinary.
I've been having trouble selecting more than one object with the pointer. the program was just reloaded on the computer, but this problem has happened multiple times now. everything will work fine for a while, then suddenly, when trying to select objects during a command, i can only select one. (ex. trying to copy multiple lines, i can only select one to copy at a time).

I have unfrozen all layers, ticked the 'Selection Cycling' box, but no lines show. It's just there, a viewport, but with no viewport polyline. The only way to select more than one line for a command is to hold down the shift button and then select more lines. When I was done with the command, I could then type in PEDIT and L for last and it would select the multiple polylines I had first selected. We just got 2012, and when I do L now it just selects one line. Can I change this?
View 7 Replies View RelatedI'm writing a program (C#) that automates the notch tool within the frame generator add-in in Inventor. I can select one part and then select multiple other parts that will notch to the first selected part automatically. This will save me a TON of time if I get it working correctly. With that being said, I have it to the the point where the user selects the first part and then window multiple parts (these are stored and then cycled through later), then I use SendKeys to open the "Notch Tool", and now this is where I encounter my problem.
The Notch Tool is waiting for the user to Pick/Select one part. In my code I've tried to use the CommandManager.DoSelect method which does not register with the tool (I'll exit out of the tool and the part will be selected). My thinking is that this notch tool will only accept the CommandManager.Pick method which would defeat the purpose of the program as I do not want the user to have to go through the parts one by one notching them together.
Is there a way to simulate a mouse click on a selected occurrence within Inventor? Is there another approach I should be considering? And finally, how to rewrite the actual notch tool to allow multiple notches to be done at once?! I'll post a snippet of my code.

I am able to select face, during selection is cursor shown as arrow with plus symbol, content menu show correctly zoom and pan commands. Unfortunatelly when this selection is done and message box show the value, the cursor and content menu does not return to correct state. Cursor is still with plus and content menu with zoom&pan. I have found that problem is with messagebox, just before messagebox is shown the cursor and content menu return to correct state , but after messagebox is shown and closed, then cursor and content menu is wrong. Why?
Finally I need it for my addin in C#, is there and better way how to select item or input 2d point?

I am using AutoCAD 2012 and I have an Issue that comes up once in a while. I will save the drawing that I am working in and a dialog box pops up with "AutoCAD Message. It says that it is unable to save to drawing, then lists the string where the drawing is found. Instead of saving as a .dwg, it creates a .tmp of the drawing. If I click the okay in the box it disappears and I can then resave the drawing as a .dwg. Lately it will even go so far as to lock the drawing and allow it to be only opened as a read only file.

I have a file where I can't save, because it says its being accessed by another session. The problem is no one has it open. I did a save as and tried changing the name of the original file or move the file with no luck. I need to keep the file name for purpose of company file structure.
View 9 Replies View RelatedWe are seeing some issues with some users regarding what looks like a timeout in licensing?Basically our users are opening drawings, making amendments and trying to save, however, when the user or users try to save the drawing. It will state that the drawing is being accessed by another session.
We have removed all instances of the DWL's to see if we can resave but the only option we can use is to save them as *.tmp files.I do know that we have replaced the server in the office that is now experiencing this problem, previously they weren't having any issues.
Any good place to start looking into this as it seems there are too many things to consider and we would like to pinpoint the issue sooner rather than later..I want to be able to quickly identify if AutoCAD is at fault or the server.

I have a drawing file that keeps giving me this message when I try to open it :
"Unable to open this drawing.It contains incorrect or or corrupted information.The RECOVER command may be able to restore undamaged material from this drawing."
When I recover the file I sometimes get a message that 1 error was fixed, sometimes no errors were detected. Either way, when I close it, and try re-opening (whether or not I SAVE it first), I get the same message. I have tried RECOVERALL, AUDIT, AECTOACAD (those AEC objects can be a problem) and tried changing the AutoCAD version it saves to (eg 2007). None of this works. I also discovered that if I WBLOCK the entire drawing it fixes it for ONE reopen, but becomes corrupted if I save it. This drawing is used as a 'template' (not a .dwt, just a "starting point") for other drawings, so the corruption is spreading.......
I am upgrading to a newr version of AutoCAD soon (hopefully that will fix it?), but this is really slowing down produciton in the meantime....
