we just upgraded to 2012 and the textmask grips do not show to pick and adjust. they did in 2011 but the only thing when the text is clicked upon there is a gray rectangle without grips in the corners....is the a systen varible to adjust?

I've got a single machine with Autodesk Architecture 2012 that when I select a grip and move it, then type a dimension in the command line, that the line becomes the dimension I typed, not the amount I moved it. For example, If i have 10" line, select and end grip, stretch it +3 inches or -3 inches, the line becomes an absolute of 3 inches. On all other machines, the line would either become 13" or 7".

I have just noticed when attempting to move the attributes in the blocks of my drawing that the grips have disappeared, where they have gone or how to turn them back on?
View 6 Replies View RelatedI use to be able to stretch a line by using the end grip and typing 50 , this would extend the line by 50 units
The problem i now have is that if i do the same thing thing , the line instead of strecting 50 units the line becomes 50 units long in total
is there a system variable that controls this ?
so i select numerous objects and can see their grips. I then go and zoom and/or pan around the place, and the grips disappear!
why is this happening?

I have a weird issue with Mleader landing lines.In AutoCAD 2012, I get only one arrow grip on mleader landing lines when I select an mleader (see image below) In AutoCAD 2010 - when I open the same exact drawing - I get TWO arrow grips when I select an mleader.

View 6 Replies View RelatedI've been working with this drawing that has 10 PS tabs. The wipeout command & textmask command works in most of the PS ports, but some of the PS ports the background shows through the mask/wipeout.
The drawing is in MS and all the Title/Borders/Dims/Text is in PS.
get my wipeouts & textmasking to work in all PS ports?
I have a drawing where i am not able to select multiple grips using shift/pick to make the grips "hot". I'm not able to make even one of the grips of a poly line "hot". However, while trying to solve the problem, i've opened another drawing where i AM able to make grips "hot". It doesn't appear to be a system setting issue.

AutoCAD 2014
We have a problem with AutoCAD R2011. The drafter made a rectangle, put some M Text in it, and when he looked at the layout the text does not show up. It's on a visible layer, and when he takes some existing text and sticks it in the rectangle, it works fine. We are just using "MatchProp" to work around the problem. Is there a way to "globally" set the text properties of the drawing to those of a particular instance of text?
View 3 Replies View RelatedI'm using 2D wireframe as my default view while extruding some solid pipes. Everything appears to work fine, but when I switch to any other shademode eg. 3D wireframe, some of the pipes disappear. In Navisworks they show up as listed objects in the selection tree but cannot be displayed and more imporantly do not get considered in clash detection.
I can't see anything different about the properties of the "hidden" pipes over any others that can be seen.
If I slice the "hidden" solids, then one half or both halves become visible like a normal solid again.
I have hundreds of pipes to model and clash so need to resolve what's happening here. Attached is a small sample file.
We created a field that is grabbing an object, the property of the object is the standard scale. Fields will not show the scale, it instead shows the word custom. This appears to be a AutoDesk bug. Please see the attachment.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI was wondering if there is a way to make an exported PDF to show up clear on the compurter screen. I have changed the settings. I have found Bullzip PDF which expoerts out a great copy that a customer is able to look at without having to zoom in on the pdf. But the issue with this program is you can put them in one file but it is very tedious. Is there a way to make the AutoCAD pdf export any clearer without having to zoom in on the PDF to read for example dimensions.
View 1 Replies View RelatedWhen I first started, I noticed that EVERY time I started Acad (Civil 3d 2012 or Arch 2012), the MRU list showed nothing but DST files. If I opened a dwg, it would get added to the top of the MRU list. But then the next time I loaded acad, there would once again be no dwg files--just dst files.
I thought that maybe the profile where the MRU list is stored was being overwritten by a backup (maybe the mgmt here wanted to ensure the profile remained "standard"). But then I noticed that when I open a dst file that was not on the MRU list, it gets added to the MRU list and STAYS THERE when I close the Acad session and is still there the next time I start Acad.
Now the difference between my issue and the other thread (at least as far as I can tell), is that I think they're saying that as dst files are opened, the dwg file(s) get pushed out of the list. But most of the dst files I'm seeing in the list are there from before I started.

I have been having an issue when printing to PDF from AutoCAD my Excel spreadsheets show up with gridlines that are not there in there Excel or CAD. I have tried a number of things to eliminate that lines (see list below) but nothing has worked so far. I am running AutoCAD 2012 and Excel 2003. I have inserted the spreadsheet using "Paste Special" so that I can continue to work on the spreadsheet in excel and it will update in CAD.
- I have changes the Plot Quality. In Monochrome the lines print. Low quality the spreadsheet does not show up. High quality again nothing shows up
- In Excel I have turned off the "Gridlines" and re-copied into AutoCAD. The lines still show up when printing to PDF
- If I paste as an AutoCAD Entity I can not update in Excel
how do I show the full name (path and all) at the top of the Acad dwg?
