View 2 RepliesI have an existing facility drawing that I'm trying to edit and when I try to dimension something it disappears after I click enter for the final time. I've tried to explode the drawing numerous times, save it in different formats, and copy and paste it to a new drawing. Nothing seems to work. How can I get the dimensions to show up?

So I am going to the Dimension Style that rules the numbers that I want to convert and after clicking in Modify button>Primary Units I go to Linear dimensions group and change the Unit format from decimal to Architectural and 100 m turns to 8' - 4" not to 328.08'.

I was wondering if there is a way to make an exported PDF to show up clear on the compurter screen. Â I have changed the settings. Â I have found Bullzip PDF which expoerts out a great copy that a customer is able to look at without having to zoom in on the pdf. Â But the issue with this program is you can put them in one file but it is very tedious. Â Is there a way to make the AutoCAD pdf export any clearer without having to zoom in on the PDF to read for example dimensions.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have been sent a DWG floor plan from a firm in South America. The existing file is Type: Decimal and Units to scale: Meters. We need to convert the file to a useable architectural and feet set up. I know that I will need to scale the existing dwg however I am not sure what the exact steps are or what I should scale it by. Should I change the drawing units first and then scale? Or the other way around? Biggest thing I need is the scale factor.
View 9 Replies View RelatedI have made a landscape model in meters as units in the modeling area. Now, when I want to scale the drawing in the paper layouts, within the viewport, it seems to me like it's scaling as if the drawing was done with millimeters as units.
I think this might have been caused by me starting to draw, thinking I was plotting in with meters as the unit, but then found that it was set as millimeters. I changed the unit setting for the model to meters and that seemed to work fine. But I'm guessing it didn't work.
I have tried using the INSUNIT command and it says the drawing is in 6, which is meters, so why is it scaling as if it was in millimeters on an A3 layout?
Is there any way I can make exploded dimensions in an old drawing become live dimensions again.

The company I'm working for does panel layout drawing that require upwards of several hundred holes to be punched into it. Right now, we use ordinate dimensions to show center points of all the holes for our hole punch machine. Recently, we decided to start putting the X,Y dimensions on an Excel spreadsheet for easier reading for our punch operator. What I'm looking for is a way to either A) extract the ordinate dimensions from AutoCAD and into an excel file or B) Extract the hole center locations from a specified base point to an Excel spreadsheet. Is there an easy way to do this or do I have to go one by one and type it out?
I just started using Autocad LT 2004. It seem unusual that when a dimension is drawn there is no reference to the unit such as inch or feet?

View 3 Replies View RelatedI need to be able to see the pixel dimensions while I'm cropping. I clicked on the "Info" pallet and it shows this in inches, however, I didn't see how to change it to pixels. For some website work I need to set images to specific pixel sizes and yet be able to move around the image to crop where I need at these dimensions.

For example 60" x 48"
The window type showed up in the window schedule. But the window dimension didn't.

What's the reason of it? I know you can enter the dimension directly into the schedule. But it would be nice if it comes it automatically. See attached file.
I have recently gotten Autocad 2012 and played around. I am trying to figure out how to make the dimensions of a line that you are currently drawing show up in standard units (feet inches). Right now it shows up as numbers with decimals. I tried DIMSTYLE but couldn't figure out what to change.

I used the options dialog to make new dimensions associative. However, when I open some older drawings the checkbox is empty. Is this option stored with each drawing? If so, is there a way to change this setting for multiple drawings at once?
