I created holes in the model as a 1/4" tapped hole
Yet when I show the dimensions in the drawing they show the minor dimension.
How do I get the 1/4" to show? I have selected the feature and still get these results.
I'm currently using AutoCAD Electrical 2013, but I think that this may fall under a general AutoCAD question.
The company I'm working for does panel layout drawing that require upwards of several hundred holes to be punched into it. Right now, we use ordinate dimensions to show center points of all the holes for our hole punch machine. Recently, we decided to start putting the X,Y dimensions on an Excel spreadsheet for easier reading for our punch operator. What I'm looking for is a way to either A) extract the ordinate dimensions from AutoCAD and into an excel file or B) Extract the hole center locations from a specified base point to an Excel spreadsheet. Is there an easy way to do this or do I have to go one by one and type it out?
I just started using Autocad LT 2004. It seem unusual that when a dimension is drawn there is no reference to the unit such as inch or feet?

I've tried to explode the drawing numerous times, save it in different formats, and copy and paste it to a new drawing. Nothing seems to work. How can I get the dimensions to show up?

View 3 Replies View RelatedIs there a way I can see the pixel (not inches) dimensions in the document status bar without having to alt click it, and also see pixels in the info pallete.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI need to be able to see the pixel dimensions while I'm cropping. I clicked on the "Info" pallet and it shows this in inches, however, I didn't see how to change it to pixels. For some website work I need to set images to specific pixel sizes and yet be able to move around the image to crop where I need at these dimensions.

Â
For example 60" x 48"
The window type showed up in the window schedule. But the window dimension didn't.

What's the reason of it? I know you can enter the dimension directly into the schedule. But it would be nice if it comes it automatically. See attached file.
Is there any way to turn on the information ,which can be obtained from schedules, on properties palette? For example, the length for the structural columns can be seen on the schedule created. However, it is not seen on the properties palette. How can I show that information on properties palette under dimensions?

I export my ipt to an stl (and I make sure that I click on options before I convert and make sure the units are in mm) yet the units are still off. I am using Inventor 2013.
It seems like most people were able to solve their problem by clicking on options but even that seems like it is not working for me.

View 6 Replies View RelatedI was adding a lot of aligned dimensions to a drawing and some where along the way they changed from aligned dimensions to rotated dimensions, even in the same string of dimensions.
View 9 Replies View RelatedIs there any way I can make exploded dimensions in an old drawing become live dimensions again.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI have been reading here that the preferred mode of generating dimensions on the drawing views is by using "Retrieve" method.
My question is: how can I programatically add dimensions or measurements to the model so I can retrieve them in the drawing view? This has to be all done by code.
tmpApp.UnitsOfMeasure.GetStringFromType(Inventor.UnitsTypeEnum.kCentimeterLengthUnits)
 returns "zentimeter"
Is there also a function which returns the unit sign "cm" ?
Is there actually a good reason why dimensions in IV are vectorless? If not, can we consider as a feature request? This gives me constant headaches in Inventor with my sketches and mates solving in unpredictable ways. I know I can use work planes as a work around, but it's a huge PITA.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI am dimensions moving around in my drawing files and I am trying to figure out why they do this. I change one little thing on my models, open the drawing, then spend 30 minutes going over every dimension in comparison to the old drawing trying to find all the ones that moved erratically and put them back where they were. Most of the dimensions that move don't have anything to do with the change I made to the model.
For example, the dimension in this picture used to be on the other side of the other extension line, and it was never that close to the geometry:
