Jun 13, 2012Where is the setting to enable Single Drawing Compatibility Mode in 2013? It used to be under the system tab in the options and is not there in 2013. Is this option still available?
I want to open multiple drawings in the same AutoCAD window by double clicking a dwg file like I have always done. Is this still possible in 2013?

I have had this problem since I used Photoshop 7 and now Photoshop CS. When I want to go to a new paragraph or the next line using the enter key, it just doesnt work.
When I hit enter, the text just exits the text entry/edit mode.

Mar 7, 2012I'm working with 2012 for the first time. I'm modeling a rough mass model of a building made of boxes for walls, floor and so on.
As I'm used to, when in Visual Style 'Wireframe' I click on a box and get to see 4 quadradric and 4 triangular grips on the base of the box plus 1 on top to change the height. This is as it always was.
NOW if I change to Visual Style 'Realistic', the grips on the back side are hidden behind the box as well as behind other boxes. Only the grips in front will be visible. No way to get a grip on a box on a side where it touches another.
Even more puzzling is the behaviour of the grips in Visual Style 'X-Ray': the grips will show, but cannot be touched. Instead, an object in front might be selected.
What can I do to make the grips work the old fashioned way - that is that they will be visible and 'manipulateable' on selected objects in all shade modes?

Jun 29, 2012We recently upgraded to AutoCAD Architecture 2013 from Architecture 2011 and am having all sorts of intermittent issues with walls showing up as single lines in x-refs (even though the file being refrenced has been brought into 2013 and shows correctly when opened by itself). We are also having intermittent issues with the plans and walls themselfs showing as a single line. I need assistance on strightening this out as we have several jobs pending construction that are all having this issue in incosestant areas.

Jan 10, 2012I'm new to Architecture Desktop (especially 2012), I dabbled with it a little bit years ago.
I'm doing a floor plan and I want to change one door to a double door. I changed the style and it changed all the doors. So I did a search and saw something about doing a style override in the "Edit Object Display." So, I checked all the "Object Override" boxes in there. Buuut...when I right click on that door and do "Edit Door Style" it still changes ALL the doors in the drawing to double doors.

Mar 8, 2013os windows 7, upgraded to Gimp 2.8.4 I open an .xcf file and go to single window mode. everthing looks ok the zero offsets on the rulers are where they should be and I can see the bottom of the gimp window where the % size change is. I then ask for a new tool bar which is provided and locked to the widow. if i go to full screen and then back the picture is pushed down as are the ruler zero's and i now can't get to the bottom of the screen. this annoying behavior does not seem to happen in multi window mode. attached is a screen capture.

I get the resizer double-headed arrow but the edge won't move. I don't know what to do. It's entirely unusable in single window mode now, which is what I usually use.

I'm attempting to send both model views that the Callout tool would produce to a different existing view file.
Have not succeeded yet, and just throwing out the question if it can be done? Or if model views called out have to be in individual files? Don't want to waste my time if it can't be done.
AutoCAD Map 3D :: Drawing Disappears After Opening Second Drawing In 3D 2012?
Mar 23, 2013I have two drawings A and B. I work in A and I need some design elements from B.
When I open the drawing B everything I have in drawing A disappeared. I refer to all elements of design (blocks, lines, polylines, etc.).
After studying the issue have concluded that the design of all elements were automatically isolated. Right click> Isolate> End Object Isolation and everything reappears in drawing A.
I mention that I installed Autocad Map 3D 2012 x64 on Windows 7 x64 and work in Map Classic Workspace using the same coordinate system in both drawings.

Every once in a while, I have a residential renovation and try to use this Renovation Mode. Problem is using it with PN. Works great in The Construct, but try to create a View and then stick that on a sheet - And like many other Autocad features, there is painfully little to no valuable documentation.
The question: how do you successfully use Reno.Mode with PN?

But when setting up the Views (i.e. A Demo Plan and a New Plan) the whole thing falls apart - I can't figure out how to turn on just the Demo plan in the Demo View; and just the New Plan in a New View.

I have found the cause to be a window service that it inventor installs called "Autodesk Moldflow Inventor Tool Suite Integration 2012 Job Manager". I disable this service via "msconfig" tool and windows safe mode works ok.

Aug 21, 2013I am trying to get renovation mode to work properly. When i use it it seems to change item that existing to a new layer on color 8 (I specified color 8), but not to by layer. I want to be able to assign an item and have the color be set to by layer instead of a forced color.
It also changes everything in the drawing. Say i have multiple objects on layer A-Wall, it changes all those objects instead of just the one i select.

AutoCAD Architecture :: 2012 - Converting 3D To 2D
Oct 20, 2011I have a number of drawings of our facilities that have been added to and revised over the years prior to having an established standard. Most of the drawings are in 2d (lines, hatches, etc.) but portions of the the newer projects were done partially in ADT/ACA (walls, doors, windows, etc.). I need to strip out the 3D information and convert to 2D for an application we will be using. Is there an easy way to do this?
I have done the Save As, Export to, and AECOBJECTEXPLODE routes but all leave 3d faces that can't be exploded any furher. I don't wan't want to use hidden line projection as that creates a very large drawing as all hatches are converted to individual lines.

Oct 25, 2011I have several different views xreffed into a single view, should'nt they all share the base construct? i.e. If I want to overlay the lighting plan, HVAC plan and my reflected ceiling plan- they should share the first floor construct. Instead each one brings in the same base construct and then when you overlay them, the walls interfere and you get wall errors.

Aug 13, 2011Navigating in max 2012 using walk through mode is not smooth at all, even on a new scene with just a few teapots. It does not update in between and jumps to the end position when i let go of keys. On the same system running max 2009, all is well. Steering wheel is also acting strange. Usual navigation is fine.
Problem exists with both progressive display and realistic mode turned off. The place where i work has computers mainly running on GTX 1GB cards but two of them are on quadro 560 256MB and they too are not much better. HF2 is installed

The problem is that Acrobat Reader X is installed on my computer. I saw the thread about Reader X having spooling issues, so I reinstalled Acrobat Reader 9. Still get the same message.I can go to the file afterwards and open it, despite this message, but it is supposed to open from Architecture after it is plotted and it won't do that.
