AutoCAD Architecture :: Cannot Continue Error For 2012
Jun 20, 2012
One of the users in my office is getting the "AutoCAD cannot continue" error in AutoCAD Architecture 2012. I've read a few of the discussions concerning this issue in earlier versions.
I'm running Photoshop Elements 5.0. Everything was working fine til this mornin. I've had the program for about a year now. When I tried to open it this morning I got this error message that popped up.
It says:
Unable to continue because of a hardware or system error. Sorry, but this error is unrecoverable.
I've tried repairing the program. That didn't work. Restarted my computer. That didn't work. Uninstalled the program and tried opening it again. That didn't work. I'm at a loss! I really need to get into my program b/c my work is there. I tried opening some of my files (they are located in my Pictures folder) and they pop up with the same message.
I used to have a third party plugin that had a "clone" command.
It was like "Add Selcted" & keep matching the properies for more new objects. So new objects would match the layer, linetype, etc.of what was previosly selected Not just the once.
I have just installed Photoshop CS2 on my new win VISTA HOME machine. There was no problems, I got a notification of a large update from ADOBE,
so I accpeted, shut down Photoshop, installed updates and then when I re-boot my machine and opened up Photoshop again, I got this error message. "Unable to continue because of a hardware or system error. Sorry, but this error is unrecoverable"
I am using PSE 9 and am running on a XP .  When I open the editor , I get an error message " unable to continue because of a hardware or system error. sorry but this error is unrecoverable "
MY photoshop was working fine up until a week ago. Then get gave me this error message. "Unable to continue because of hardware or system error. Sorry, but this error is unrecoverable". The error pops up when photoshop is loading "building color convertion tables" or something to that effect. It is not the fonts becuase I have not installed any new fonts, have defraged my hardrive. I have used FontDoctor, and all my fonts are fine. The only thing that i did do is install the new directx june 2006, and the new NVIDIA drivers. I uninstalled my Nvidia drivers but problem still persists, please I am desparate for help, formating my hard drive is not an option. I have reset the prefs both via ctrl, atl and shift, and searching for the psp file and deleting it manually, same problem pops up. I installed Photoshop cs and I recieve the same error message. I can however run and use ImageReady.
I have a number of drawings of our facilities that have been added to and revised over the years prior to having an established standard. Most of the drawings are in 2d (lines, hatches, etc.) but portions of the the newer projects were done partially in ADT/ACA (walls, doors, windows, etc.). I need to strip out the 3D information and convert to 2D for an application we will be using. Is there an easy way to do this?
I have done the Save As, Export to, and AECOBJECTEXPLODE routes but all leave 3d faces that can't be exploded any furher. I don't wan't want to use hidden line projection as that creates a very large drawing as all hatches are converted to individual lines.
After I plot to pdf, I get an error message: You do not have a PDF viewing application installed. Go to the internet and dowload a pdf viewer. The problem is that Acrobat Reader X is installed on my computer. I saw the thread about Reader X having spooling issues, so I reinstalled Acrobat Reader 9. Still get the same message.I can go to the file afterwards and open it, despite this message, but it is supposed to open from Architecture after it is plotted and it won't do that.Â
I don't consider myself a minimalist in any way, but I like to keep my personal folders clean of any system files. I recently changed the path for the autosave-folder as it intruded my private work files. The problem is that even though I did change the path, every time I start AutoCAD a new 'Autodesk'-folder is created in my personal folder. It still contains the sub-level 'Autosave'.
We have just installed ACA 2012 on one of our workstations and randomly the crosshairs will disapear in paperspace. We will still get the cursor icon if we hover over properties and paletts etc. We have the latest service pack and ribbon hotfix. Searching hasn't come up with much.
I work on AutoCad 2012. I am trying to find the revision cloud & tag tool. I seem to only be able to place a revision cloud without a tag on the drawing. I don't see a tag option and searching for the option on the help menu has resulted in zero hits. Does AutoCad 2012 not offer this feature or am I looking in the wrong location?
I am using AutoCAD Architecture 2012 and I would like to add a hatch file but all the hatch files are located in the following file C:Program filesAutodeskAutoCAD Architecture 2012ContentPackscp_ADT_UKsupport. Adding a hatch file?
I like to have all my palettes docked, however, the Properties Palette won't stay docked after closing and reopening AutoCAD. Â Every time I open AutoCAD, the Properties Palette reverts to its undocked status (all other docked palettes stay put). Â Is there any way to remedy this? Â It's a pain to have to redock it every time I open the program.
In 2010, when you did a multileader, on the landing you had an arrow grip on both ends and then the box grip in the middle.. Now in 2012 they have the landing set to where there is an arrow grip at one end closest to the text and the box grip at the other end....
Is there any way to set the multileader grips on the landing in 2012 the way they were set up in 2010?
I am using autocad Architecture 2012. the other day it randomly stopped recognizing most commands. I cannot TRIM, CO, OFFSET, ect. all of the main ones. a couple things still work, If I need to draw a circle I can type D and still input diameter. But for all of the rest of those it says "Unknown Command, press f1 for help."
ve seen many posts about this type of error, however, I do not see how to correct this in 2012. I am operating 2012 architecture in Windows 7 through VMware on an IMac. I have run 2010 and 2011 on this machine without this issue but now 2012 has this issue. I check Performance Tuner Log and the 3d device is VMware SVGA 3D.Â
I would like to preface this post by stating, for the purposes of this message, that I have absolutely no understanding of the workings of AutoCAD. I have looked at many forum discussions concerning my issue and I am simply unable to understand the terminology and/or concepts being described.
I recently purchased a new computer for my office. Accordingly, I needed to install AutoCAD on this new machine. All of the machines in my office are running AutoCAD 2011. However, after addressing some licensing issues with AutoDesk, I received a license and installer for AutoCAD 2012. Everything was installed correctly (as far as I understand) and the program itself is working fine. The problem I am running into involves the text style for the files I open:
For files saved on AutoCAD 2011, the text style used is Arial. Simple; no custom fonts. However, when I open that same file in AutoCAD 2012, the text style for the entire file has changed to Franklin Gothic Book. (Note that all files are accessible from all computers in the office through a network drive)
That is my only understanding of the situation. As I mentioned earlier I have very little understanding of the workings of AutoCAD. I have had this problem for almost a week now and I am no closer to understand this issue, much less solving it.
problem when plotting files that have PDF images attached to them and are viewed through a viewport. Â When plotting, the publishing bar fills up but then stays filled and doesnt disappear. Â At this point AutoCAD is locked up and I see the file starts spooling. Â I have several PDF files attached that amount to no more than 500 kb, however, when spooling it racks up to 30mb before in sends it off to the plotter and it takes a very lenghtly wait (up to 60 min). Â Eventually it plots and sometimes it doesn't plot at all. Â After a while if I try cancelling the plot, it will start plotting but only half of the page and after that the entire operating system will lockup. Â We have several machines (6) and 2 plotters in a network and the plotters are shared. Â Is there a better and faster way to work with PDF xrefs? Â Could this be a networking problem instead of AutoCAD? Â

I ran into a problem with the structural member wizard today. I was making up a bunch of glulams and everything was doing just fine, then all of a sudden the wizard stopped accepting new values for the member depth. No matter what you try to enter, it is rejected and a value of 1'-0" is placed in the field. It will accept new values for both width and lamination depth however. I tried to make a member of another material (steel) just in case it was just the glulams. No luck, they behave the same way, you can't set the beam depth. I also tried restarting ACA, working in a completely new (and clean) file, as well as restarting my computer, it didn't work.Â
I really don't want to have to go through the repair/reinstall circus if I don't have to.
I have an Nvidia Quadro FX1500 graphics card on XP64. Getting the correct video driver for ACA is critical as we all know. I did a search of the Adesk web site and one page told me to use version 259.57, while another page told me to use version 265.70.
The page telling me to use the newer driver was under the certified hardware page, where ACA is not a choice in the product used, only acad. The page telling me to use the older version was under the ACA support page. Then I go to the Nvidia web site and they tell me to use the 191.00 version.I'vehad a look nside the hardware XML installed with 2012 and te supported driver version is 6.14.0012.6570.
