View 4 RepliesI've got a view layout for 1/8" scale floor plan. I've got 2 gang toilets that I'm trying to use the Callout tool to generate enlarged plans on a different view file.
I'm attempting to send both model views that the Callout tool would produce to a different existing view file.
Have not succeeded yet, and just throwing out the question if it can be done? Or if model views called out have to be in individual files? Don't want to waste my time if it can't be done.
Can the Plot command be used to combine multiple drawing views into a single DWF file?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a building with 2 levels & I have one stairwell. My 2 levels are in a shell.dwg - (first floor level & second floor level). I have a simple stair & landing, which is an element. I insert that element into the first floor level. Everything is fine there, but when I set up a view drawing with the shell (construct) & stair (element in construct) for the second level the stair is diplayed as if it is going up from the first floor level - I need it to show going down from the second floor level. Is there way to show that with one stair?
What we have done in the past is to not have levels, 1 construct for first floor & another for second floor - creating a stair styles for each floor. But when you do a model you have stairs on top of each other (not really using the software like we should). So my question is how do I have 1 stair for 2 different levels & show it correctly for each level. When I set my cut-plane height for first floor level - looks great, but when I set it second floor level - either it remains the same obviously or when I uncheck the override display config. in other on the display tab in the style the stair disappears. I'm trying a new way of creating models/plans & I can't think on how to create the stairs correctly. What am I missing in order to look correctly in plan view without making 2 stairs.
Does AutoCAD Architecture 2012 have a single drawing mode?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have several different views xreffed into a single view, should'nt they all share the base construct? i.e. If I want to overlay the lighting plan, HVAC plan and my reflected ceiling plan- they should share the first floor construct. Instead each one brings in the same base construct and then when you overlay them, the walls interfere and you get wall errors.
View 9 Replies View RelatedI design press tools. Is there any ways in inventor 2012, where I can have only one common sketch in zero height and extrude profiles in different heights. Like plate no 1 @100 to 120mm (in vertical axis. A 20mm thick plate placed at 100mm above zero plane.) and plate no 2 in 150 to 175mm height and so on.
View 6 Replies View RelatedI'm fairly new to the AutoCAD API for .NET, and for the last month or so I've been googling about, looking for comprehensive documentation on the Autodesk API (their equivalent of man pages). I've yet to find anything that describes each method and class in the API.
My goal is this: I'm trying to figure out how to copy the contents of all drawings in the same directory into a single dwg file. What subsets of the AutoCAD API should I use to do so?
I changed my Publish options on the Project Navigator for publishing to PDF as a single sheet per sheet layout. Now I want to put it back so that when I publish it does ALL sheet into one PDF file and I can not figure out how to put it back. Now ever time I publish it does each sheet as a separate pdf.

Also, when I am able to do this, is there a way to give points to my separate objects so I can match them up with other points of other pieces that it's supposed to fit up to? I'm pretty new to AutoCAD
How to save IDW's with multiple sheets in to 1 single CAD file
I have IDW's whith lots of sheets and when saved to cad, I got multiple files and I always end up doing copy paste to create a single file
Our company does not have the funds to upgrade so we are stuck with CD12. I am using using a windows 7 /64 bit machine. I created this xml template for the writers to place place their graphics in our author software.
I have 4 layers on my file - grid.guide, desktop and template. The template has the instructions and size dimensions. I have them put all graphics on the high lited desktop layer then when this is complete turn off the template layer. One can print this file with just the graphics showing with no problem.
However if I export this a PNG file both the template and desktop layers show up even though I turned off all layers. I just want the desktop layer with the graphics to show up. I have been using Adobe Illustrator for several years and this doesn't present a problem when saving the graphic as a PNG file.
I have one large assembly for hose routing it consists of around 1000 hoses all hoses are coming in main assembly but delivery date is very short. My plan is work on same assembly 5 people how it works?
One idea is like working in sub assemblies but in my case only one assembly consist of all hoses.
How to work multiple users in single assembly file at same time. like in solid works enable collabarative mode.
I have a part file that contain 7 separate solid. But in the drawing i want to show only 4 solids.
For this reason i put invisible command to other 3 solids in the part file . but in the drawing, i still see all the seven parts.
The layer is on and the ground levels on the architectural drawing in model view show the number and the box surrounding them however in the drawing window be it in the numbers have dissapeared and we are left with only the boxes ?
View 3 Replies View Relatedi am trying to do is add multiple images/pictures/jpegs to a single file/document of photoshop...
I don't want to use the cut/paste thing...how do i simply add multiple images to a document i already have open?
I just started aca12 today and i have a substantial query:
i've set up my project and levels. i have -1, 0, +1 levels with certain thickness each. i've noticed that the levels are separate dwg files. and each of them has 0.00 elevation for walls and elements that i put in.
a. now, i'd like to know how to put all the levels together, say, in 1 single display, so that i can make 3d view of the whole building?
b. btw the level names can be different from constructs' names, am i right?
c. why when i choose ,,copy constructs to levels'' nothing happens on those levels. i don't see any new elements there? instead of them i get 3 copies of the same level, like ground floor (1) ground floor(2) etc.
I;m trying to setup linked files in max from AutoCAD Architecture 2013. However, for each file attached the levels of the project from ACA are not recognized in MAX - all the levels are stacked ontop of eachother in the same place. I did not see an option in the presets for MAX to understand this.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI am creating a project with multiple level in ACA 2014. Set up levels like we always have but now we have a project where the lowest level is below 0. When I generate a model or elevations, the model is created with the lowest level inserted at z=0, not the real level.
After I experimented, if you create a model with say level 1 & 2 not included, it creates the model with level 2 @ z=0 ?
We have a client that wants to recieve AutoCAD documents for the construction documents that our office has prepared. In the past, on other projects with this client, they have altered our AutoCAD drawing files and reissued them out to bid. This is becoming a legal matter, but I am asking, is there a way that the AutoCAD drawing file can be saved that will 'lock' the file so that it can not be altered?
View 3 Replies View RelatedIf I use the CAD 'Plot Stamp' while converting a drawing to a PDF file (DWG to PDF), everything works as it should.
If I try to print it out on paper, it doesn’t work at all, even though it looks ok in the preview (however, if while in the preview, I try to zoom in on the Plot Stamp to see what's actually written, it disappears). Instead of being 'BR vertical' it's 'BR horizontal', It prints mostly out of the printable area and the text is a smaller size than specified.
What's the best way to get a high quality PDF from a DWG?We find the quality from the 'DWG to PDF' printer to be a bit disappointing. If we 'Publish to PDF' from a 'Sheet Set', it's a bit better...
Our staff can not get this file open. It says "Drawing file is not valid". It was emailed to them. He tried sending over as a 2000 drawing then tried it as 2007. We have AutoCad 2010 and 13 available to us, but no luck.
"Attached is a 2007 version of the same dwg. We have an Autodesk dwg viewer that we use here when we are sent a dwg and so far I have been able to open every file I have sent you with our viewer, so I am not sure why it is not working on your end. What I did though was opened the drawing in our autodesk viewer and then saved it from that."
I have a whole folder of drawings that if I try to access I get "Drawing file is not valid".
I have read a bunch of posts and have tried the following:
1. I have tried to insert the drawing into a new blank drawing but nothing happens
2. I have searched all of our drives for BAK and SV$ files and have found none
3. This past summer our team did a clean-up of the drives and deleted all of the BAK files
4. I have tried to copy, send, or print the file and get the same error message
This file contains the base plans for a building we have that is XREFed into our furniture, electrical, security, etc. plans.
Is it possible to convert a pdf file created in Autocad back to it's original dwg format in Autocad?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have this file that won't open in AutoCAD Architecture 2012, well let me rephrase that, it won't finish opening. It has 4 or 5 xref's attached. I was able to open this same file using 2010. Through process of elimination I was able to determine that a file that was exported from Revit MEP 2012 was the problem. When that file was detached the drawing would open just fine. To make things more interesting, I am able to open the Revit Export file just fine using 2012. What diabolical combination of event has happened to cause this SNAFU.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have a few problems with my autoCAD 2010 version on my new computer. When I make a few hatches, there is a possibility that my entire computer freezes and the only way out is a hard shut down of my computer.
The same problem also appeared when I tried to open a drawing direct in autoCAD or when I search the file to make an exref into the drawing.
Isn't there a way of taking an existing hatch patter off a drawing file and load it into your hatch library?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI recently purchased Video Studio Pro X3 - and after going through the knowledge base and product read me, I have been unable to find an answer to the following problem I have:
PROBLEM:
I have a number of videos (HD 1080p) that I have recorded. Each video is on average 50 minutes in length - what I want to do it to be able to do is to slice this video into 10 x 5 minute videos (based on topics discussed in the video), (so essentially clip the video into these segments and edit each one) and then when producing the video file - actually create 10 separate video files (all with editing in place) instead of one single large file.
As far as I have been able to work out, I need to go through the whole file, clip relevant sections, edit them, and then save project. I then need to go trim the saved file 10 times, to extract each time the single 5 minute video I want to create. This is a fairly manual and time consuming process, hence my hope that I can create 10 files based on the clips I have made in the larger 50 minute file in one go.
as I have 30 videos to edit, so looking for ways to save time!
