View 1 RepliesI just recently had to install 2009 from map 2008. When I open drawings last worked on and saved in 2008 and open them in civil 3d 2009, I get drawings that freeze up upon opening. Some will eventually open, showing errors. Others will never open and just freeze up.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI'm attempting to uninstall autoCAD 2009, I keep getting a message reading:
- Error opening installation log file. Verify that the specified log file location exists and that you can write to it.
I have located the install log..... no what.
Is there a way to increase the access time so printing is faster?
I have AutoCAD 2013 and access drawings over VPN (6 meg pipe).
Both opening the drawings and especially printing them take a very long time.
It takes about 8 seconds to open drawings, due to all the modules loading on the bottom-left of AutoCAD. Printing takes even longer than opening the drawings.
Is there a setting I can change to speed-up access time?
I work with a national company that creates criteria drawings for new projects. They recently changed to the 2012 version but they save it down to 2007. There has not been an issue with opening files with my 2009 version until recently. All of the computers in our office are unable to open these new files, although they claim nothing has changed. My CAD will pop up a fatal error and shut down whenever I attempt to open the new files. I downloaded the 2013 trial version and saved the file down to the older version, but that does not work either. Newer versions do not seem to be affected by the files, just my 2009 version. I tried creating a new file in 2013 and saved down to 2007 format. When I try to open it 2009 there is no issue. besides purchasing a new version of AutoCAD?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI am trying to write some VBA code to print several drawings present in a folder.
I am not a VBA expert. I wrote some little macros in excel but it is the first one in Autocad.
I have a small code that opens a drawing, counts it, closes it and then loops for other drawings.
I have a code that print a drawing by defining some printing parameters.
Separately, both work. But when I call the second one into the loop, I get a error:
"Run-time error '-2147418111 (800100001)':
Automation error
Call was rejected by callee."
I'm using Windows 7 and Autocad 2012.
See my code below:
Option Explicit
Dim filename As String
Dim filepath As String
Dim full_filename As String
Dim i As Integer
Sub print_trial()

I am trying to plot multiple drawings all at once. I work with many drawing sizes varies from size A to size E. What would be the best way to plot all drawings to 11 X 17 paper no matter what size the drawings are set to? These drawings are not xref or anything. They all are separated files. I tried using Set Sheet Manager; it will only plot to whatever that size is. I want all drawings to be plotted on 11 X 17. I did some research in the forums here and was not able to find what I was looking for.
View 2 Replies View RelatedIs is possible to "que" a bunch of drawings to be plotted? I would like to be able to open a drawing and plot it, then while it's plotting, open another drawing and plot it, then another and so on and so on. However, I get an error message stating that another plot is in process and only one plot or publish process can be active at one time. Thus, I'm forced to wait for the last one to complete before sending the next one to the plotter.

View 6 Replies View RelatedI've recently upgraded to AutoCAD 2012 and CADS RC 2012 and a really annoying thing has starting happening! Every time I open a new drawing or an existing one, all the layers are automatically set to 'no plot' so print previews come up completely blank every time! I then need to manually go through all the layers setting them to plot or no plot as required!

Is there any way to reset plot files in publish without opening each drawing indvidually and resetting the plot file?
I'm fairly new to the AutoCAD API for .NET, and for the last month or so I've been googling about, looking for comprehensive documentation on the Autodesk API (their equivalent of man pages). I've yet to find anything that describes each method and class in the API.
My goal is this: I'm trying to figure out how to copy the contents of all drawings in the same directory into a single dwg file. What subsets of the AutoCAD API should I use to do so?
without using mdi active document is there possible to plot a drawing file from vb.net?

View 7 Replies View RelatedI have been trying to plot an excel spreadsheet within LT2009. See attached files.
Test Adobe.pdf was created using "Adobe PDF" driver, paper size A3. Looks good except for the exta lines running through columns 1 and 9.
Test Dwg to.pdf was created using "dwg to PDF.pc3" driver, paper size ISO A3 (420x297mm). The excel portion looks good but it has cut off the border all around.
Border size is 410mm x 287mm.
Using Acrobat 9 Pro and MS Office 2010.
QT : 1 . I am looking for a script to move the drawing such that the left bottom corner is placed at 0,0 without any manual intervension. This is to done for all the files in a particular folder.
QT : 2 In the same script file I want one block to be inserted also in each drawing. the block is placed in the network drive . so how to copy the path after putting the insert command. I tried -insert; but it is not working how can i give the path in script file.
I have one drawing per file at model tab. When I need to plot a multiple page file, I use:
Print > Batch Plot.
The problem is that I have to set plot configurations ( plot style table, plot area, paper size, etc) in each file before use Batch Plot.
Now I received 722 files with a wrong Plot Style Table. For this time I change the associated *.ctb file at Plot Style folder, but I will need to associate the right *.ctb to each drawing. It's also common to have to change other properties.
So I have the educational version of ACAD 2012 and this is my first time using that version. My model is done and I formatted my layout with a border and the model to scale in the viewport. When I go to plot to PDF, all I see is the border. I've tried fiddling with colors and viewports but neither of those did anything.

View 7 Replies View RelatedWe are currently using Inventor 2013 without Vault and I discovered that multiple users can open the same IPT file at the same time with no warning message or read only access like we get in Autocad. We have 6 designers all using the same Project that is a single user project. We normally don't have more than no person working on the same part or assembly, but it did happen. Two designers opened the same file to make separate changes not knowing that the other was in the file. Not until one of them went to save the file did he know someone else was also in the file. When he went to save the file he then got a warning - "A later version of this file has been saved by (user). Saving the file would overwrite changes, which is not allowed. If you wish to preserve your changes, use the Save Copy As command." In Autocad if you try to open a file that someone else has open you get the warning right away and are forced to open it read only or not at all. Is there a way to set Inventor to do the same thing? Other than using Vault and having to checkin/checkout every file. Our six designers work on an average of 50+ parts per week and many times have multiple files open at the same time to use as reference. Also the shop floor opens our files to use for programming and asking them to checkin/checkout files would not be received well. The shop floor has "read only" rights as determined by our network. Does our network settings determine if more than one person can open the same file?

I thought that the whole point of a dxf file was that it could be universally recognized from one system to another.
I received a drawing today that doesn't allow me to choose existing ".ctb" files. Opening the "Plot style table (pen assignments)" from the Page Setup dialogue box. I can choose "Start from scratch" , use a "CFG" file, or "Use a PCP or PC2" file". I do not have any CFG files. I usually use PCP in my "Plot" dialogue box for the plotter pull-down menu.
How to use my plot style "BRhalf.ctb" when plotting this drawing. Also, a "heads-up" on background information on this drawing's plot style options, vs. the plot style options on many other drawings I have plotted.
my plot file names don't include the drawing name, only the layout name. it used to include the drawing name. i must have changed something but i don't what.
