I changed my Publish options on the Project Navigator for publishing to PDF as a single sheet per sheet layout. Now I want to put it back so that when I publish it does ALL sheet into one PDF file and I can not figure out how to put it back. Now ever time I publish it does each sheet as a separate pdf.
View 5 RepliesI have no problems publishing to one file from multiple tabs, or plotting to multiple single files named after each tab. I want to batch plot to a single file with bookmarks named after each tab in my AutoCad file. I would think that it would name each bookmark "Filename-TabName" as it goes down the batch plotting (publishing) list. Right now, I print to individual files and combine. This creates bookmarks for each filename like I want, but I have to name my tabs in order, or re-order everything each time which is time consuming.
Is there a setting to create bookmarks as you print to a single file that are named after each tab? This would be cool and very useful. I cannot imagine that I am the only one who wants this.

I have many files and i want to save time to plot (=o=!!).
I know that if I use IMPORTOBJ I can import an excel file....but the file is multiple pages (within the same workbook page). Is there a way to bring that in withought breaking up the Excel file into mulitple files?

I've got a view layout for 1/8" scale floor plan. I've got 2 gang toilets that I'm trying to use the Callout tool to generate enlarged plans on a different view file.
I'm attempting to send both model views that the Callout tool would produce to a different existing view file.
Have not succeeded yet, and just throwing out the question if it can be done? Or if model views called out have to be in individual files? Don't want to waste my time if it can't be done.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI seem to be having an issue publishing multiple layouts into a single PDF.
All the layouts are setup to plot to 'Adobe PDF' and in the Publish options I have set 'Publish to: Plotter named in page setup' as well as 'Multi-sheet file'. When I click OK I'm prompted for the filename for each layout and have to save them as separate files.
The only time it does work is when I choose 'Publish to: PDF' which I guess uses AutoCAD's internal 'DWG to PDF' method. Is my preferred method an Adobe issue or is it fixable through AutoCAD?
I have set up a view with a stair that goes from the first floor to the second floor. The stair has been asigned to the first floor level only. It appears as I want it in the view. However, when I drag the view into my sheet file, the stair disappears and only the path shows, without the individual nosings.

But one of the powerfull thing of the SSM is to publish multiple (or single) sheets at a time.
Well, i tryed it since a few months in and out publishing via the style sheet on the sheet set template i'm building and it doesn't print.
The publishing icon in the status bar of civil 3d 2012 keeps on going for ever !!! (Even when i cancel the job, it doesn't stop the icone, like it's jamed)
Btw, even if i pass by a drawing that isnt in the SSM and choose several layouts to publish it does the same thing too.
I use to do this on a 2008 version of Autocad.

When publishing a sheet set some of my annotation labels are not showing up. If I open the sheet, they are there, set to print and everything is correct. If I print just that sheet, everything is fine. Only happens in publish. It's almost like the publish command isn't giving the drawing enough time to open and load everything before printing.

View 9 Replies View RelatedOur configuration management tool requires a DWG for our system assembly drawings. A single DWG with all the sheets layed out in a sheet space. Right now I do a "Save As" out of inventor and it creates X number of seperate DWG files and then I stitch them together in AutoCAD by taking each sheet and placing them into a single sheet space (copy paste). My work flow would be much faster if I could get Inventor to create a single sheet space with all the active or selected sheets as a single DWG output.

I have a question that involves texturing multi objects for a single model.
1 - should I texture the peices first and then attach them together
or
2 - should i attach the pieces together and then texture them.
Also, once the model are attached, should I still weld the vertices and if I dont weld them, will it affect the animation when I rig the model?

I've been try to use the Multi Sheet Plot routine that's provided with the Inventor 2014 install.
I'm attempting to plot both Vaulted and Non-Vaulted idw and Inventor .dwg files.
Regardless of drawing type or location, the Multi Sheet Plot routine is unable to print any files. The application reports a failed while reading error. None of the settings within the application seem to have any effect on eliminating the read file errors.
What steps must I follow in order to successfully print multiple sheets of a designated printer?

we have simple assemblies with bolted weldments and few misc. parts. most assemblies are 3-20 parts a typical project would have:
-a few laser cut parts, some plastic and hardware. these items need to have part drawings sent to a vendor.
-some in house cretaed parts that need a drawing
-assembly drawing for our shop
i think i am seeing that by having one single IDW its getting hard to send all the drawings to the people that need them. an example would be if a vendor calls about one part, i may send him a 4 page PDF and tell him to look on sheet 2.the other issue that i have is that my standard work flow is:
-design a product
-hand of to another dept for them to enter SKU numbers for parts and assemblies.
so my file names never match what the final product name is. i have been using fields in the iPROP, but it would be nice to revise file names when SKUs are created. im guessing vault would be the tool for something like that?
When I print a single sheet to PDF I have no issues. However, when I try to use the publish command I get this error
ERROR: The current device does not support the requested media size.
I'm using the same cutePDFwriter and page layout as I did with the single sheet. Also my 2 co-workers are using the same settings for what I can tell, and have no problems.
I have found that if you publish to single-sheet .pdf's and then combine the .pdf's into one file using Acrobat, each sheet is bookmarked using the name of the individual files for the bookmark names. However, if you publish to a multi-sheet .pdf, no bookmarks are created. Is there any way to create multi-sheet .pdf's in AutoCad and have bookmarks automatically inserted (using the name of the layout as the bookmark name)?

I am kinda new to image editing and I am wondering how to do something like on the news (the weather reports in particular) where the replace/add the landscape to a green/blue background. I would like to do it with a white background and have it replaceed with something more interesting. The closest I can find is the color replacement tool but that is not quite what I want to do. i.e. I have a outlet recept thats a MVB. I have it linked to the space with has the circuit number for the electrical panel. Is it possible to tag a MVB similar to tagging a window?

This is an issue for which no one in my office has any solution. We create all of our plan sets on E1 size paper. However, when we plot them for redlines we print to C-size to save paper. I know you can "publish selected layouts" to plot numerous tabs at a time. However, I am unable to figure out how to make them plot to a smaller size paper than what the page is set up for. Is there a way to plot all of the tabs at a smaller scale without plotting each tab individually?
We just recently upgraded to AutoCad 2014.
I'm using the publish command to create a set of single-sheet Dwf files. After running publish the dot in my file names have been converted to the undercarage symbol.
example: (1111 - E1.0 sheet name - job number.dwf) this is converted to (1111 - E1_0 sheet name - job number.dwf)
If I do a manual dwf plot, file name does not change.
I installed AutoCad 2011 on a new computer Win7 Prof Off OS. I'm trying to make single pdfs for each dwg that I have. No matter what I select it keeps making one multi page file of all my dwg sheets.
I've tried going under Publish Options > General DWF/PDF and I've tried both Multi-sheet file and Single-sheet file getting the same results. I have the same problem whether I use Dwg to Pdf.pc3 or my Adobe.pc3 driver.
