I'm using the publish command to create a set of single-sheet Dwf files. After running publish the dot in my file names have been converted to the undercarage symbol.
example: (1111 - E1.0 sheet name - job number.dwf) this is converted to (1111 - E1_0 sheet name - job number.dwf)
If I do a manual dwf plot, file name does not change.
I installed AutoCad 2011 on a new computer Win7 Prof Off OS. I'm trying to make single pdfs for each dwg that I have. No matter what I select it keeps making one multi page file of all my dwg sheets.
I've tried going under Publish Options > General DWF/PDF and I've tried both Multi-sheet file and Single-sheet file getting the same results. I have the same problem whether I use Dwg to Pdf.pc3 or my Adobe.pc3 driver.

For instance, I have a side view, front view, and rear view of a motor in 2D but I would like the motor in 3D. View 2 Replies View RelatedI'm attempting to create a sheet set from existing drawings, but when I point the "New Sheet Set Wizard" to the folder containing my 8 or so drawings (with 24 or so associated layouts), only 2 drawings appear with 6 associated layouts for import. The other layouts don't even show up as being part of another sheet set. How do I get the New Sheet Set Wizard to "see" the layouts?

I create a new layout by selecting page set up manager in the file menu, create a new layout, but the tab does not show up at the bottom.
I am using AutoCAD 2012. I’ve come to realize that my Sheet Set command won’t work, as I cannot get any sheet sets to open. When I select a sheet and try and open it, nothing happens at all.
Also, I did get an error message when trying to create a new sheet set, “Unable to create sheet set file: *filename*”
Using Set Sheet Manager, I am trying to create an Office Standard Sheet Index Table.
I have begun by copying the Standard table and modifying it. I have adjusted the cell styles to reflect our colors and text types and sizes. I have also added two additional columns for revision number and revision date.
I have tried saving the new table ... and inserting a new table through the sheet set manager
the only tables i can bring in include the 2 original columns (sheet number and sheet title) and specified text font, size and color are maintained, but the additional columns and the column width are lost.
Ideally i would like the office format to be maintained...with little or no modification required of the user.
The files in my sheet set manager model view is not in alphabetical order? Any way to get it in aphabetical order?

When I print a single sheet to PDF I have no issues. However, when I try to use the publish command I get this error
ERROR: The current device does not support the requested media size.
I'm using the same cutePDFwriter and page layout as I did with the single sheet. Also my 2 co-workers are using the same settings for what I can tell, and have no problems.
Is there a way to include custom sheet properties in the sheet list table?

I have over a 100pg plan set and have changed page numbers and added more drawings and deleted a few. so now we have to go through the entire Table of Contents and drawings and renumber everything. Is there a way to link the fields in the Table of Contents with the page numbers on the drawings?

I tried right clicking on the layout tab but it will ONLY allow me to export one tab at a time.

we are working on circuit drawings which are lengthy and we usually split the model into more than 100 layouts and publish pdfs.So we get 100 pdf pages. When we view the pdf, we need to scroll down to get into next page.
Can we create a pdf for complete circuit in single page, where we can scroll the page horizontally. This will work in viewing the page horizontally with continuity in the circuit.
I've just recieved a new pc with Win7 64bit (no admin access) and AIS 2008 SP3.
When I go to Projects>New, the only option is new Single user Project. How can I enable the other project types or what can cause them not to show up?
Autocad2008 has the Break, Break at Point, and Dimension Break tools. There may be other variations of the break command, but I'm not able to fined a way to quickly use any of these commands to create a very simple single break point on a single segmented line at an unequal segment. I'm surprised Break at Point doesn't fit the billet.
Example:
I've drawn vertical line 10 units long. I would like to place a single break point at 7.956 units from either endpointe of that very same line. This is not a polyline. When selected it is depicted as a line with two equal segments.
The purpose of the break is so that I can intersect a horizontal line at 7.956 units located on the vertical line.
It seems to me that with all of the break tools available, one of them should be able to accomplish this simple task on the fly. Even most basic CAD programs such as Draft It, has a break tool that performs this function easily and quickly with one mouse click and one single text box entry.
Also, the fastest way I have found to accomplish this task is to simply draw another vertical line 7.956 units over the original vertical line, and that allows me to attach my horizontal line at 0 or 180 degrees from the vertical 7.956 units. I then go back and delete the second vertical line.

In my title block I have a attribute with the name project_Number. Now what I want to do is the following. When I edit my block with the project number. The project number should automatically be added to a text box without me typing in the project number twice.
E.g.. This Drawing is part of the consulting services provided for Project[Project_Number] and may not be used or applied for any other purpose without prior consultation.
in other word the project number should be reference in the text box from the attribute.
Working in AutoCAD™ 2012... Is there a way to "erase" an entity, line, etc. by selecting it and having it immediately disappear? I work in 3D/DXB files a lot and it really useful when working with an audience either for on-screen seminars or over-the-shoulder.

If I mask one area in model space, then I try to mask another, clicking no delete of previous boundary, it still won't let me do it. I need to mask many small pieces of an xref in the model space.
I want to know if there is a command that passes all entities (lines, text, etc.) to a single layer, but that the institution holds the color and line style assigned according to the original layer that contained it.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI have a simple block with a single attribute that I am trying to sync. Someone previously created this block, defined it on a named layer with the attribute defined on the same layer with a user font, then inserted it on three different layers. Now, even though I have redefined the block on layer 0, set everything to BYBLOCK, all the attributes are still on those other layers. And when I try to use ATTSYNC, all the values disappear. I don't get it. Isn't ATTSYNC supposed to retain all the values?
How can I get all of these blocks with their attributes and values intact on the same layer?
