Dec 12, 2013Using Autocad2013. Roughly two weeks ago we updated our company server. Since then, in the Sheet Set Manager, the 'Model View' tab is no longer in alphabetical order. The drawings are just randomly listed now, no order whatsoever.

Feb 9, 2011Is there a way to set the sort order in Sheet Set Manager for the Model Views tab? Seems like a few releases ago it was alphabetical - now its random and almost impossible to locate a specific drawing in a large project.
Tried changing MAXSORT and it did not have an effect.

Nov 22, 2011When trying to open or insert files, the folders and files are listed in reverse alphabetical order (Z on top to A on bottom) in AutoCad. All other programs are listed fine, Word, Visio, etc. Is there a variable I can type in? I have changed none of the setting that I know of. Using AutoCad 2009LT.

Feb 21, 2014i'm doing a large project that requires me to import 40 to 50 image files into separate edge documents. (about 30 documents each with 40-50 sequenced images.) each time i import a batch of images, the order gets messed up. in finder they are labeled as filename01.jpg, filename02.jpg etc. when i import them into edge, it scrambeles the files for no apparent reason (see image below) and i have to delete them and re-add them from the images library to get them in order.
why don't they just import in order?
as you can see, i moved file _10000 to the top (it was somewhere in the middle) and the rest of the files are in no apparent order. this is extremely annoying as the files were named as such to keep them in order!! is this a bug, or just the way that edge thinks importing files works?

Sep 9, 2012I have a solid hatch pattern I want to use on a sheet that would display under a Model Space View (MSV).
(Ideally, I would like the hatch to come from an xref set up in the .dwt for the sheet, but I won't push my luck.)
Unfortunately the solid hatch always remains above the MSV. Refer to image attached. I have tried the following :
- 'Draw Order' - 'Send to Back' of the hatch (including it's bounding box)
- "hatchtoback"
- "hpdraworder" = 1
- "sortents" = 0

Jul 9, 2012We have had a reoccuring problem in autocad architecture 2012 where model space views can no longer be dragged into a sheet. It just shows a circular cancel icon.
The sheets are set up fine and it may even have several MSVs already in place then out of no where the ability is lost. We have tried allt he usual fixes (checked the layers, restored the .bak file, tried on other computers, installed service packs) but it seems once the file is "poisoned" the only fix is to recreate the sheet and delete the old one. Not a terrible solution but it is not efficient.
We have a dozen computers all with acad architecture 2012 and it seems to happen on random computers and we can't pinpoint any specific differences between them.
We did not have this problem with Autocad architecture 2009.
It could be something with the project database.

Jul 9, 2012Every now and then I'll have a sheet that will not accept placement of another model view from the sheet set manager. (There are usually two or more model views already on the layout). Every attempt will cause AutoCAD to crash. I run recover and audit and the problem persists.
Today I did something differently. I added a new layout, and successfully placed the model view on that layout (I accepted the condition that the layout was not part of a sheet set). Then I went back to the layout I really wanted the model view on and was able to place it without any problem. The significant difference I can see is that I usually have only one layout (I typically delete layouts I don't use which leaves only one layout). It seems to me that having one layout and only one layout while attempting to place a model view on it could very well be the cause of this random crash problem. I have not been able to confirm this yet but the next time I crash trying to place a model view, the first thing I will try is to add a new layout.

AutoCAD Architecture :: Drag And Drop Model Space View To Sheet?
Oct 27, 2011We're testing some new machines running Windows 7 64-bit with both AutoCAD Architecture 2011 and 2012 64-bit installed.
When dragging and dropping a model space view onto a sheet, instead of the folder with paperclip symbol, we're getting a circle with a line through it prohibited symbol. This only occurs when our project files are on our network. When we use them on a local machine this does not occur.
We cannot drag and drop onto new sheets either.

We are running on a Novell Linux Open Enterprise Server network. We previously had a problem with not being able to open any sheets if another drawing was open, which we resolved by disabling Novell File Caching. We are also now experiencing unhandled e06d7363h exception errors with any type of file access in the Project Navigator. This crashing also does not occur when the files are on the local machine.
AutoCAD 2010 :: Model View From Block VLISP
Nov 6, 2013I'm trying to create something great VLISP app that extracts an attribute and vertices for each instance of a selected block and creates a model view based on those inputs. This is my first attempt at a VLISP app.
Let's say there's a drawing populated with a block that has multiple visibility states for different size viewports and an attribute to label your sheet number. Once they are laid out, you run this app and it prompts you to select the "viewport block" that is placed. The app extracts the block name and for each instance it extracts the attribute name (sheet number) and vertices of the extents for the viewport. You will need to add the insertion point to the vertices, so that will have to be extracted as well. The app will then run the VIEW command to make a model view with the extracted data from each block.

Oct 8, 2012When I attempt to plot one or more of my drawings in model view to pdf the plot will show gaps in between the edge of the paper and my border. The plot will vary per drawing but limited to the ledger and tabloid paper size, the plot area is set to window for the area the border contains, and the plot scale is fit to paper.

Jun 14, 2012CIvil 3D 2013 / My drawing opens in layout view and all model objects are appropriately coloured by layer. If I hit plot at this point, my colour dependent .ctb file works fine. However, once I swtich to model view, all my linework turns white and if I switch back to Layout view it remains white and plots each line with the weight assigned to the colour white.

Sep 17, 2010I'm using the publish command to create a set of single-sheet Dwf files. After running publish the dot in my file names have been converted to the undercarage symbol.
example: (1111 - E1.0 sheet name - job number.dwf) this is converted to (1111 - E1_0 sheet name - job number.dwf)
If I do a manual dwf plot, file name does not change.

Mar 1, 2012I installed AutoCad 2011 on a new computer Win7 Prof Off OS. I'm trying to make single pdfs for each dwg that I have. No matter what I select it keeps making one multi page file of all my dwg sheets.
I've tried going under Publish Options > General DWF/PDF and I've tried both Multi-sheet file and Single-sheet file getting the same results. I have the same problem whether I use Dwg to Pdf.pc3 or my Adobe.pc3 driver.

Feb 10, 2013I'm fairly new to Autocad and getting used to using sheet set manager. What I'm experiencing is, when you insert a model view it brings in an xref of that model, but i'm then unsure how to add additional xref models into the same view.
For example I have a separate ground floor plan file and OS data file which I want to show in the one sheet view without nesting the OS data to the original ground floor file.

Feb 22, 2012I am having some issues with sheetset. The pdf name is name of the drawing + name of layout.
1. The sheet sets do not follow the order of the drawings layouts
2. The list is not according to the drawings order in the directory
3. The sheets are automatically combined when I want them to be separate
4. There are numbers 1,2,3... automatically prefixed to the sheet causing additional trouble.
