May 31, 2013I have an Illustrator document with 932 layers. I would like to automatically sort the layers in alphabetical order

View 1 RepliesI have a quick question. When I use the layer control dropdown menu, the layers do not appear in alphabetical order like they do in Layer Manager.
Is there a way to fix this?
Possible to prevent Lightroom (any version) from automatically sorting keywords in Alphbetical order? And if so, how to do it?
View 5 Replies View RelatedI've got areaText rectangles that were created by various means, and the 0 index is sometimes the top left, other times the bottom right. I need to do a lot of resizing/aligning/spacing/sizing. To script the movement of the top left point of each (or any point for that matter), I'm trying to clean up the sequence of points in each objects array of pathPoints so I can move pathPoint[0].anchor for each rectangle and be sure that the top left is moving, not some other random corner.
So, testing in script alone, and I came up with the following (don't laugh at how I called out the array), which works great in extendScript:
var testArray = new Array;
testArray.push({xVal: 5, yVal:0});
testArray.push({xVal: 0, yVal:-2});
testArray.push({xVal: 5, yVal:-2});
testArray.push({xVal: 0, yVal:0});
[code]....
Which throws an error "objPoints.sort is not a function"Unlike the JS only version, my AI script is trying to sort all of the points of all of of the textAreas, which I'll fix shortly so it sorts the 4 points of each object. The problem is that the script isn't sorting the points, but providing a useful error message instead.
Is here any way to over ride Lightroom's wanting to alphabeticalize the keyword list.
Does it support hierarchical keywording?
Can I create my own Keywording order per subject/category?
why all of a sudden all my images and folders are not in alphabetical order. everytime you re-name or add a file to photoshop it detects and goes in order. now ive got to search to see where that file is.

View 4 Replies View RelatedWhen trying to open or insert files, the folders and files are listed in reverse alphabetical order (Z on top to A on bottom) in AutoCad. All other programs are listed fine, Word, Visio, etc. Is there a variable I can type in? I have changed none of the setting that I know of. Using AutoCad 2009LT.

The files in my sheet set manager model view is not in alphabetical order? Any way to get it in aphabetical order?
View 2 Replies View RelatedUsing Autocad2013. Roughly two weeks ago we updated our company server. Since then, in the Sheet Set Manager, the 'Model View' tab is no longer in alphabetical order. The drawings are just randomly listed now, no order whatsoever.
View 2 Replies View Relatedthe organizer doesn't present thumbnails in alphabetical order which is crucial for my business as everything I do is based on a running number. There fore I like to suggest to Adobe to create a patch where this problem is fixed. Its a shame that Elements 11 doesn't contain this function as it has any way been improved in so many other ways.
View 1 Replies View Relatedi'm doing a large project that requires me to import 40 to 50 image files into separate edge documents. (about 30 documents each with 40-50 sequenced images.) each time i import a batch of images, the order gets messed up. in finder they are labeled as filename01.jpg, filename02.jpg etc. when i import them into edge, it scrambeles the files for no apparent reason (see image below) and i have to delete them and re-add them from the images library to get them in order.
why don't they just import in order?
as you can see, i moved file _10000 to the top (it was somewhere in the middle) and the rest of the files are in no apparent order. this is extremely annoying as the files were named as such to keep them in order!! is this a bug, or just the way that edge thinks importing files works?
lets say i have 200 images in a folder, and i want to put the last image in the number 1 spot with Use Order.
Is there a faster way to move that image to the top? Rather than dragging the image?
I required a lisp for sorting Multiline text in alphabetic order. (Ascending and Descending)
For example in my drawing it contains lot of Mtexts having multi rows. I need to sort texts inside Mtext. Like PDC-012, DAG-012, AAG-096. I need that Mtext should be AAG-096,DAG-012,PDC-012.
Here I have several concentric squares in an uninterrupted stack.I moved the topmost (small orange) one vertically.I then went to the Alignment panel, selected all the squares and clicked on the one I moved.Then I clicked on Vertical Distribute Center.
The right hand picture shows what happened.One of the squares (that big orange one) near the bottom of the stack shot up so that its centre was above the centre of the topmost one in the stack.The centres are evenly distributed but why is the stacking order not controlling the order in which the squares are arranged?
Fortunately the positioning of that big orange square was easy to correct, but something tells me this is not the way things are supposed to happen.Seemingly this does not always happen. I have tried the method on several stacks. Some were o.k., others showed similar behaviour to the above.
Something I have noticed in Illustrator CS6 is that the font sorting, normally alphabetically, is all messed up. I use DIN on a daily bases and this font family is what is always throwing me off not being sorted correctly. I tried to delete and reinstall the font through Fonts (Windows->Fonts), but nothing is changing. And another thing I noticed that when in selecting a font from the toolbar character, I can no longer use keyboard keys (letters) to navigate...
View 1 Replies View RelatedWhen I browse through the fonts in my control panel or character panel, they are not sorted alphabetically. Some of them are, but as far as I can see, they are first sorted by language, then alphabetically. Can this be turned off? I think this is common to all versions of Illustrator.

View 8 Replies View Relatedapplyng a layer and flattening. Now i really want to get over this hurdle so that i can save important images unflattened for further re-adjustment later.
I have browsed the web for two days and found nothing that helps me. The crux of the issue is that i get to a point where i have applied maybe three adjustment layers and then aaply say a sharpening layer only to find i cannot see its effect on the image due to its order in the stack.
Well, I had need something that had put the layers in a random order.. I show a picture so ya see (each "big pixel" is a layer.Tried to make them look randomized, but it didn't went that well.
View 16 Replies View RelatedIs there are tool somewhere where you can make the draw order layer specific. I.e so we have a layer with a certain number of items on it that always appear above another layer with other types of items.
We tend to use leaders a fair bit and they often drop below some of our design elements, ideally we want them to be at the front & have to spend time bringing to front / sending to back etc.
I can't find where to set the display order of layers. I have lines that display under a PDF underlay but I can't drag the layer above the others. They appear to be in alphabetical order, which, while frustrating, I can live with if AC will allow me to easily move layers around some other way.
View 7 Replies View RelatedI have used Gimp for years and today I simply cannot move layers. In the layers dialog I usually drag the layers into the desired order but for no reason the layers simply float back to their original position. I have tried;
- Clean install of gimp
- Opening various gimp files (xcf)
- Creating new xcf files
The layers are not;
- Locked
- Floating
I have attached a video of the problem, which can also be viewed at;

I'm working on a book that has watermark on all pages and jpegs too of a4 size. Working in earlier version [x5], I used to overlap all the watermarks which was located in master layer. When I used to import a fresh jpeg on new pages, the watermark went below the jpegs. What i used to do was create a new master layer and then cut pasted the watermark in that layer, and the watermark came above the jpegs in the pages that were added later. In CorelDRAW x6 this i'm not able to do.
The watermark remains bottom of the jpeg, no matter what i do. if i edit the same file in version X5, it works fine and then i get it into x6 and do rest of stuff it works fine. The watermark problem still exists.

Is there anyway that I can assign a layer to be always in the front/on top of all other layers in draw order?
