When trying to open or insert files, the folders and files are listed in reverse alphabetical order (Z on top to A on bottom) in AutoCad. All other programs are listed fine, Word, Visio, etc. Is there a variable I can type in? I have changed none of the setting that I know of. Using AutoCad 2009LT.

View 2 Replies View Relatedi'm doing a large project that requires me to import 40 to 50 image files into separate edge documents. (about 30 documents each with 40-50 sequenced images.) each time i import a batch of images, the order gets messed up. in finder they are labeled as filename01.jpg, filename02.jpg etc. when i import them into edge, it scrambeles the files for no apparent reason (see image below) and i have to delete them and re-add them from the images library to get them in order.
why don't they just import in order?
as you can see, i moved file _10000 to the top (it was somewhere in the middle) and the rest of the files are in no apparent order. this is extremely annoying as the files were named as such to keep them in order!! is this a bug, or just the way that edge thinks importing files works?
I have a quick question. When I use the layer control dropdown menu, the layers do not appear in alphabetical order like they do in Layer Manager.
Is there a way to fix this?
how to get the corridor list in toolspace prospector tab to put the corridor list in alphabetical order? It seems to put them in order as you make them and will not use alphanumeric. See what mine is doing in the attached photo.

the organizer doesn't present thumbnails in alphabetical order which is crucial for my business as everything I do is based on a running number. I'm trying to build a routine for my job to insert a block which consists of 3 single line variable attributes in a specific order. I need to be able to do this on many different drawings, and I would like to share this ability with my coworkers. Using the DesignCenter is not an option. In order to do this, I saved a drawing which consisted of the three attributes in the layout in which I need them to appear, however the order in which it prompts me to enter them is reversed. I already know how to set the order of attributes in an EXISTING block definition using the BATTMAN command, as every time I run the routine again, I'm redefining the block definition.
I'm not sure if it's important to know this, but the routine consists of a button with the following macro:

Three Polygons, one line and one point shp. the problem is that the bottom polygon that is supposed to draw order last continues to show up above all other files during plotting to PDF or other digital file. View 4 Replies View RelatedI'm using AutoCAD LT 2013 and I'm having problems inserting .dwg and .dxf files into an existing open dwg. I have previously done this successfully on this computer so I'm pretty sure that I am doing it correctly. What happens is this: I go to insert the file, select it and it shows the correct image in the preview window, but when the actual file inserts into the drawing, it's a completely different file all together. The funny thing is, I have restarted my computer and the program several times, and each time it inserts a different drawing. I have tried inserting a .dwg and .dxf and they both insert the wrong one. I tested it by xrefing the document that I want to put in and it shows up correctly when I xref. I've also tried saving it as a block with the WBLOCK command, and still the wrong thing inserts.
I downloaded the service pack for AutoCAD LT 2013 and nothing has changed.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI am using Inventor Pro 2014 on Windows 8.1 and when I insert or import a DWG file from AutoCAD into Inventor to extrude it into a solid, nothing shows up. Apparently a wizard is supposed to pop up but when I try it nothing at all happens. I have tried reinstalling it but nothing seems to work. I think importing a DWG into a 2D sketch is a fairly basic thing to do but I'm baffled that it isn't working. I have SP1 already installed.
