AutoCAD Visual LISP / AutoLISP :: Match Properties In Reverse Pick Order
Aug 17, 2011
Normally when applying the matchprop command in CAD, one has to first pick the template element, and then select the elements which should have this template element's properties copied to/matched.
is it possible (via lisp perhaps?) to reverse this order, so that i can select a bunch of elements (e.g. through the quickselect icon) and THEN apply a matchpropertieslisp command, then select a single template element which the initially selected elements should mimic?

I need to get the layout list in reverse order. How to do this? My plotter outputs prints face up and I wind up with a stack of drawings in reverse order - If I can cycle through the tabs in reverse order they will wind up in the correct order in the print room!

I've been looking for commant that will allow me to copy a selection of entities to another layer for details. I'll need to be able to select several objets all at once and have each of them maintain the correct colors, linetypes, lineweights. Most everything is set as bylayer but that makes everything change once the objects are moved to a new layer.
How can I keep the everything looking like it never changed except for the fact that it will be moved to a new layer - layer 0 in this situation?

I know how to increment pick points numerically (see below). How is it done alphabetically?
(defun C:test (/ pt# pt) (setq pt# (getint "
Enter number: ")) (while (setq pt (getpoint "
Specify point: " ))(if (/= pt nil) (progn (command "TEXT" "M" pt "" "" pt#) (setq pt# (1+ pt#)) ) ) ) (princ))

I'm wondering if there is a lisp possible to measure area's by pick point (as in bpoly). This little feature exists in Microstation so i was looking for something similar.
Is it also possible if this lisp can measure areas from an external reference (dwg, dxf, dgn, shp etc..)? I'm kind of new to AutoCAD in that sence.

I like that Autodesk now allows us to just pick a command's option from the command line instead of typing a letter in the option. For example, when drawing a rectangle we're prompted to "Specify first corner point or [Chamfer Elecation Fillet Thickness Width]" and if we wanted to draw fillets on the rectangle we can simply PICK that option from the prompt in the command line OR enter an "F" and return.
Is there a way we can use this functionality in our custom programs?

I have quite a large drawing (subdivision) with many bearings annotated. On many of the bearings, I wish to reverse them.
For example, if the text is 6°49' I want it to read 186°49'
Similarly if the text is 355°21' I want it to read 175°21'
Any LISP routine or VBA that will do this?I have one called "180" however it only succeeds in crashing Autocad.

I have a lisp routine that I would like to add to. Right now when running the macro the user is not prompted to "Pick Point On Line" in this example
(command "insert" blk "s" var1 pause pause))
I have added the line
(setq pt1 (entsel "Pick Point On Line "))
(command "insert" blk pt1 "s" var1 pause pause))
but the command doesn't seem to like my PT1 value
BLK and VAR1 are set in another lisp routine.

I am looking for some code that would allow me to select a MTEXT Entity - or other entity - (as the DEFAULT option) but also to allow me to type in some text manually or to pick a point in the drawing. Something that would present the user with:
"Select an object or [P to pick a point]" or
"Select MTEXT or [M to type].
I can write some code to type in text manually as the default option and get the second option to select entity using get string and then write some condition of if code but I don't know how to do it having entsel as default option.

The crux of the matter is that the CANNOSCALE value needs to match an existing named scale. This lisp is part of a bigger lisp and I need to pass a variable into it. Here's what I have:
(setvar "CANNOSCALE" (strcat "1" = " (rtos variable 2 0) "'"))
But I get this error when I try to run it.
; error: bad argument type: numberp: nil

Here is what I am trying to use, but it doesn't seem to be working.
(DEFUN C:RRT (/ name)
(setq name (getvar (vl-filename-base (getvar "dwgname"))))
(command "-layout" "rename" name "")
(princ)

I required a lisp for sorting Multiline text in alphabetic order. (Ascending and Descending)
For example in my drawing it contains lot of Mtexts having multi rows. I need to sort texts inside Mtext. Like PDC-012, DAG-012, AAG-096. I need that Mtext should be AAG-096,DAG-012,PDC-012.

I am looking for code that will delete all the properties within a DWG file.
Searching the forum, I found the following
; Remove any existing Properties
(dictremove (namedobjdict) "DWGPROPS")
However, further research (forum, testing and help system) indicates that it no longer applies to current releases of AutoCAD so my initial happiness was short-lived!

I have used Autocad since 1991, and my current job required me to use Microstation. One feature I liked from Microstaiton is the ability to select and open an external DGN reference, and then match the view of the parent DGN. In AutoCAD, you can also select and open an xref, but the DWG opens to the previous saved view, and not to the desired view that matches the layout.
My thought was to experienting with lisp or scipt and export the "Viewctr", "Viewtwist" and "Viewsize" variables to a text file, then importing the text file and using the "Viewtwist" as my "SNAPANG" value, then "Viewctr" as my "ZOOM, CENTER" value, and finally the "Viewsize" as the "Enter magnification or height:" value.
But, alas, have no time, and not quite the knowledge to duplicate MicroStation's open-xref-and-zoom-to-view feature.

I have a routine that looks for an MText date stamp and replace the old date with a new date. The problem is some MText strings appear encrypted. Below is an example:
{\H1.121x;\C1; \LFY 2011-12\l \H0.6252x;04-30-11} This is what I should get when I extract the string (as shown in Property window)
(1 . "\pxi-2.1818,l4.3636,ql,t4.3636;{\fSymbol|b1|i0|c2") is what I get when I extract the group code.
I'm running AutoCAD 2012 on Windows 7.

I need a program to move some selected text to a line something like as extend command but for text objects!
suppose that there is a horizental line (y=constant) or vertical line (x=constant) and some selected text(or other objects), I want a lisp program that move these selected text (or objects) by their "insertion point" to this line.
in other word, if the selected base line is horizental (y=constant) then property of "Y" of all selected text should change to line's "Y"; and if selected base line is vertical (x=constant) then value of "X" of all selected text should match to line's "X" value.
for example, for base vertical line (x=constant) and 3 selected text(or can be any object) result is:
text1. | text1.|
text2. | ===> text2.|
text3. | text3.|
| .text1 |.text1
| .text2 ===> |.text2
| .text3 |.text3

Any lisp routine on how to change "Drawing Properties" (fields via Mtext) on multiple single drawing files?
There are several instances where we would need to take a project to create another one and simply change the title block description.
As of now, we are opening each drawing (there could be hundreds) and modifiying the drawing properties on each drawing to change the customer name and other project descriptions.
These are not attributes, but fields. I've researched alot on here and couldnt find anything.
The drawing is attached.

how to access custom drawing properties using LISP. It was in a discussion initiated on 01-06-2011, subject: Custom drawing properties.
One solution was to use the following method:
(setq si (vla-Get-SummaryInfo (vla-Get-ActiveDocument (vlax-Get-Acad-Object))))
(vla-GetCustomByKey si "DWGPROP1" 'pval)
(princ pval)
Now taking it a step further, using LISP, how can I "update" my custom drawing properties?
