I design press tools. Is there any ways in inventor 2012, where I can have only one common sketch in zero height and extrude profiles in different heights. Like plate no 1 @100 to 120mm (in vertical axis. A 20mm thick plate placed at 100mm above zero plane.) and plate no 2 in 150 to 175mm height and so on.

As of right now I have to select each one individually rather than doing a drag box or something like that. how I can do this fast, I've got a multibody part w/ over 1000 solids (I didn't create it, yes I know this is probably excessive).

I create a part by creating rectangle on the XY of 90mm centered on 0,0. I add fillets on 3mm on all four corners. I then add two circles centered on 0,0 of diameters 45 mm and 41mm. What I would like to do is extrude the area between 41 mm and 45 mm circles to 10 mm and the rest of the rectangle outside of the circle 45 mm circle to 6 mm. The center of the part from center to the 41 mm circle is void or open.
I have read two solutions that use a "share sketch" function, that I can't find by right-clicking as indicated in the write-up.
I am trying to creating an extrusion with a sketch containing multiple circles. However, the AddForSolid() Method is not working properly, returning non-NOERROR is C++. Below is the code that I used to create a sketch(which is succeeded) and then try to create a extrusion (in my case cutting).

I'm fairly new to the AutoCAD API for .NET, and for the last month or so I've been googling about, looking for comprehensive documentation on the Autodesk API (their equivalent of man pages). I've yet to find anything that describes each method and class in the API.
My goal is this: I'm trying to figure out how to copy the contents of all drawings in the same directory into a single dwg file. What subsets of the AutoCAD API should I use to do so?

I have a door with 3 of the same handle. I have a program in which the user selects 1 of the handles to turn it into a keyed handle. Now, this all works but the problem is that all of the 3 regular handle instances will be replaced with the keyed handle.

Is it possible to create multiple frames in a single assembly environment? (i.e. Frame0001, Frame0002)
The members all lump together in one Frame regardless of when they are created in the workflow.
I know there is a workaround for this by making each frame in its own assembly...but that will be more cumbersome than it is worth in this application.
Right now I have just created folders in the Frame0001 to sort things out, but the folders are not very flexible as far as moving things in and out or reordering...it is a pain.
I've used the Frame generator to create my existing building columns, existing platform columns, and existing handrail. I'll be using the frame generator pretty soon here to build a new platform, which I would love to keep separate from the existing steel.
I suppose I could save the current assembly and insert it into a new one so I can add the new equipment, but I'd rather avoid large subassemblies like that. Seems like it would be a lot easier to just have an option to create Frame0002.

Can Dynamic Simulation drive multiple variables with a single parameter? In the following example, the variables len_A and len_B are driven by size. The parameter "size" varies from .8 to 1.2 (currently I have size parameters in a Multi-Value List).
Is there a way Dynamic Simulation can drive the "size" parameter to animate the assembly? I plan to use Dynamic Simulation's Output Grapher to Plot a Trace of the triangle's apex as A and B vary in length. The example assembly is attached.
I use flat piano hinges on doors for many of the machines we build. I would like to be able to calculate the total length of multiple doors on a single machine. We buy these hinges so it needs to go on a buy out parts list.
So here is my problem:
To make it a useable hinge I build an assembly from two hinge halves.
This allows me to check for interference within the machine when the door gets opened.
I set the BOM structure of the assembly to purchased so it shows up on my buy out list.
Both halves of the hinge are set to normal.
There are hinges of different lengths on the same machine.
I can link a parameter of one of the halves to the assembly to show length of the hinge but I cannot set the BOM base qty on the assembly to that parameter so Inventor can add up the lengths.
When I group the items in a buyout parts list the result is "0." The individual assemblies show the correct length because I use the "length" parameter that is linked for the QTY in the parts list. But I cant "add" the lengths and have a total whe I group them.
I need to have mixed units in this list. Some things are bought as Each and these hinges are bought in length.
I have one large assembly for hose routing it consists of around 1000 hoses all hoses are coming in main assembly but delivery date is very short. My plan is work on same assembly 5 people how it works?
One idea is like working in sub assemblies but in my case only one assembly consist of all hoses.

In my company there are a lot of standard parts with variations. An object can have for example a left and a right variation, or can have three a different heights. I've created and iAssembly with the different variations, in which every member has a different part number. I'd like to make an overview drawing containing all the variations of that object, so the user can easily see the options and can choose the one he wants. On the sheet I'd like to have views of all the different members of the iAssembly, plus a table of all the members with their part number. It was no problem to create the views and the table. But I have two other questions.
1. I want to show the name of the Assembly with the view. So I'd to have in the view a text with the description of the Assembly-member, which is linked with the Assembly. I've tried to use a balloon to tag the assembly, but this only balloons the parts of the assembly. (How) can I do this for the whole of the assembly?
2.When I make an overview of all the columns we use, I'd like to align all the views at the bottom of the view, so you can see that all the columns have different heights, and how they differ in relation to each other. When I align the views with each other, the alignment is done in the middle of the object, not at the bottom. Is there a way to choose what lines of the view must align with each other? Or a way to align the views to a line (for example in a sketch)?
I am currently working on a product where I want to make 2 part lists in my drawing of the same assembly. The first parts list has to view all the parts that are always delivered with our product, and the second one has to show the optional parts and features that could be delivered with the product.
I want both lists to be categorized the same way (comments, material, name), I want the numbers of the list to be chronological (also I don't want the second parts list to start the numbering at 1) and I want both lists to stay connected with their balloons.
Is there any way this can be done, like adding or removing part links to the list manually?
I'm trying to 3d print an ABS mold of an 80" long by 6 inch high object. I can't figure out how to section my model into the multiple 6" sections, though I know I'll need 14 roughly the same size sections.

What I am trying to do is find a simple and quick way to turn off the visibility of ALL the trail lines in the drawing without having to pick out each one and ajust manually, The model .ipn is quite complicated and has many trails on it so I really need a way to turn off the visibility of these in the drawing.

However, the mtext entity always moves position slightly (compared to the original text entity) after converting the object. better lisp that converts multiple text entities into mtext entities (which are all separate still, i.e. not joined together) without the position of the entity changing?

So I created a parts list without headings and built the headings into the title block. The first parts list I enter will anchor to my border, but when i enter the second parts list, it will not anchor to my previous parts list like I would like.

I have a revolved part that's made of multiple layers -- aluminum, for example, with an anodized coating and then a paint on top. I need to make a detailed drawing to show how thick each layer is, and to that end, created the part profile, added an offset rotation for layer 1 and then another offset rotation for layer two. They're thus symmetric and in full contact, but separate, distinct layers. No problem.
Turning this into a precise drawing, however, is a bit harder, since all of the layers render into one monolithic revolution. I need to show those layers distinctly, like in the png file attached. Is that possible?
I need to create a adaptor to go from one 96 hole array pattern to a smaller 96 hole array pattern. The pattern gets smaller in both X and Y. This would go from vertical hole to angled hole back to vertical hole. One or both of the vertical sections could be removable to allow this to be a drilled part. The center section would be a solid block.
Since each hole will be at a different angle (in two different planes) it seems like I would need to create a separate plane for each hole and extrude from that plane. In addition to being error prone, this would take a large amount of time. Is there an easier way?
It would be straightforward to create a block with points for the large 96 hole array on top and the small 96 hole array on the bottom. Is there some kind of point to point method of creating a hole at an angle? A construction line could be drawn point to point but is there a way to make a hole from that?
I'm laying out a drawing with all tabletops used in our project for a linolium- fitter to set a price on covering the about 12 tabletops in total.
I dont know if this is correct English or if it make sense at all, but what I was wondering about was: Could you retrieve the total m2 of all the tabletops in a drawing? Or do I have to go back to the aim and get them one by one?
I found that I can right click a dimension in a drawing and select "Move Dimension" which then prompts me to select an alternative view in which I want the dimension placed. Is it possible to control-click multiple dimensions once to do this all in one fell swoop (e.g. I decided my view is too busy and want to move dimensions to a newly created detail view of that area)?

Is it possible to edit text formatting (e.g. font, font size, alignment) on mulitple text boxes, rather than having to right click each and click Edit Text? Ctrl+right click doesn't bring the option up to edit text.
I am currently endeavoring to translate some (very) old print drawings of standard geometry used by my company to electronic format with Inventor. Many of these standards include a matrix of certain dimensions (noted by a letter variable on the drawing, such as "A") and what their values should be, given the required size of the geometry's main feature, like the cross section of an o-ring that is supposed to go with it. Is it possible to build such variable/multiple value dimensions in Inventor and have a corresponding matrix printed on the drawing with it?
