I am trying to get renovation mode to work properly. When i use it it seems to change item that existing to a new layer on color 8 (I specified color 8), but not to by layer. I want to be able to assign an item and have the color be set to by layer instead of a forced color.
It also changes everything in the drawing. Say i have multiple objects on layer A-Wall, it changes all those objects instead of just the one i select.
Here it is 2013, two years after Renovation mode was integrated.
Every once in a while, I have a residential renovation and try to use this Renovation Mode. Problem is using it with PN. Works great in The Construct, but try to create a View and then stick that on a sheet - And like many other Autocad features, there is painfully little to no valuable documentation.
The question: how do you successfully use Reno.Mode with PN?
I have a small renovation project. Was able to set the Existing, Demo & New work fine - in the Construct. But when setting up the Views (i.e. A Demo Plan and a New Plan) the whole thing falls apart - I can't figure out how to turn on just the Demo plan in the Demo View; and just the New Plan in a New View.

View 2 Replies View RelatedIn the Printer Settings drop down menu both Color Mode and Print Mode are grayed-out. This just happened I cannot think of anything I've done differently.
I'm using OS 10.6.8 and the latest Epson drivers for the 3880. I have re-installed both PS and the Epson drivers. If I print from Acrobat Reader everything seems to work fine, this only is happening in Photoshop CS5.
what the SDI mode settings do? I was told to set my SDI to (0) by typing SDI in the command prompt so I could publish drawings. I use LDDT 2005. I typed SDI. It then prompted me to
"Enter a new value for SDI <3>:" I entered 0 and was told,
"The current setting for SDI is required by a loaded application.
Cannot set SDI to that value.
*Invalid*"
How to keep the snap mode settings from disappearing after certain commands. For example every time I use a lisp routine I have to go and reset my settings because they are no longer the way I had them set before I performed the lisp command.
View 9 Replies View RelatedIm currently drawing renovation plans, sections and elevations, and i have a prexisting set of drawings, a after renovation set of drawings and would like to achieve the intersecting of this two sets with objects/lines in yellow for whats going to be demolished and red for whats being built and white for whats to remain untouched.
I started by setting a yellow color for the first set and red for the second set. And worked my way to the excrutianting task of breaking and setting this two sets of 2d drawings.
Is there a command or routine that allows me to break a line were two diferent lines overlap in the drawing. I was wandering if i could do that i then would only have to overkill the entire drawing..
in paper mode
the space outside space is white in color
and i can not find the way to change it into black and can not change it in option-->drafting
When you change a viewport to presentation mode the walls change to orange. is it possible to change this color?

View 2 Replies View RelatedIf we have both the Xref and the File that it is referenced into open on one of the computers here and we reload, the Xref disappears. If we do an undo and close the Xref it reloads without problem.
I tried to replace the user profile from another PC that doesn’t have the problem, but it didn’t work. Is there a Registry setting that cause this behavior? All stations set to “Enabled with copy”

We are upgrading user laptops. I have used the Windows 7 Easy File Transfer utility on the first couple, but it does not appear to copy the users AutoCAD settings. When they open AutoCAD for the first time on the new computer, they have to set up all of their toolbars, etc again.
I have even tried copy and paste of theWin 7 AppData Local, LocalLow and Roaming folders ... but even that does not tranfer over the toolbars, menus, etc...
make it so that when a user logs into the new computer and opens AutoCAD, it is exactly as it was on the old computer?
I have my workspace saved, but everytime I open AutoCAD Architecture, all my tool bars are messed up again. What is going on? How can I get it to standarized my work environment?
View 1 Replies View RelatedWalls are being created on layer A-Wall, in color Cyan, Lineweight .020, etc. I'd like to edit those layer properties. There must be a matrix somewhere that shows a list of all of the Architectural Objects, the layer that each object will be created on, and the properties of those layers. Where in ACA2008 have they hidden this top-secret matrix? I've accessed Layer Key Styles via about 6 different routes, and nowhere do I find a list of Objects. I see that I could define an override for every component of a Wall object in the Style Manager / Display Properties, but it sure would be easier to just change the layer color once, wherever that's defined. There is only one Layer Key Style accessible through Style Manager, and layer A-Wall doesn't appear in that manager- layers A-Wall-Abov, A-Wall-Blow, etc appear, but not A-Wall. Neither does layer A-Glaz, which is where Window objects are placed.
How does a Wall object know to place itself on layer A-Wall, and where are the properties of layer A-Wall defined?

There are some very frustrating things that occur when using Revit to document architecture projects in conjuction with rehab work. I am of the opinion that this is a very important area of architecture that is currently not being well documented by Revit users, Revit software vendors, Revit training specialists or by autodek itself.
The world has a huge stock of existing buildings, how can we iron out the duplicity of work that is currently required in order to use Revit in conjunction with rehab/renovation work.
Is there a best setting for the mode, color settings, and color profiles when printing a grayscale vector illustration to a monochrome laser printer? I am making vector maps, and right now they are mostly black line and black text with only the K values in CMYK. There are some gray tones—for example water areas are 10% K, with no C, M or Y. Would it make any difference if I used RGB mode values at 100% (255,255,255), or a rich black in CMYK (such as 40C, 30M, 30Y, 100K)? I printed in K only at 1200dpi to a Generic Gray Gamma 2.2 profile, and it doesn't look too bad. There aren't many of the lines that are really jagged. I just wondered if there are better settings.
I'm using Mac OS 10.6, Illustrator CS6, and a Brother HL-5470DW monochrome laser printer.
How do I tranfer all my standard autocad variable settings into a new version of Architecture? I have my dimensioning settings, etc set a certain way in my standard autocad and now I want to start using Architecture but need all my old settings.

View 9 Replies View RelatedI am participating in a architectural design draft, regarding renovation of an industrial building. The building is only uploaded in .DWG and .3DS, which presumably means it´s origanally drawn in Auto Cad. But when i link the DWG (ACAD) file to Revit, it treats it like a component making it impossible to edit walls, windows, making cross sections, floor plans, checking room heights etc. Is there anyway i can resolve this problem other than learning how to draw AutoCad better ?

I’m not sure about the current “annotation scale” in case of lay out mode.
Annotation scale option is displayed only in the model and viewport mode but not in the lay out mode (attached)!
Based on what annotative objects living on the lay out but neither in the model (or viewport) are re-sized? At this mode, there is no option to choose the annotation scale?
On other words, how to choose the annotation scale in the lay out mode?
For some reason while in text mode, all letters stay locked in Cap mode. My cap lock key is not on?

1. Select a photo in Library mode.
2. Click on Develop to go to Develop mode
Screen shows "No photo selected". I cannot edit photos in Develop mode.
I can see and edit photos that are found in smart collections, but not photos that are simply in my collections from 2012, 2011, etc. folders
I’m a long time Photoshop user but recently picked up LR4 to try to fine tune my workflow. I’ve noticed that after importing new files (RAW, I haven’t tried with jpg) into my library as I scroll through them (1-up, not in grid) the preview comes up and then after a second or so the WB changes to a much colder image.
Does LR4 initially preview at specific settings and then change to the individual image settings? Even if so, the final images seem very cool and I feel like I have to up the temp more than I should have to. My previous workflow was to sort in Bridge and then use ACR to import to Photoshop. I feel like I did much less tweaking of my WB this way. I feel like I’m starting from square one with LR4.
I updated my computer to windows 7 32 bit and need the file: AdskHwCertificationDatabase.xml - version 17.1.0.4 so that I can find out the correct driver for my OS and my quadrofx 1700 graphics card. Autodesk doesn't support 2008 Architecture and the on;y file I can find is buried in a torrent file with a pirated copy of 2008 and I DO NOT wish to download that.

and typing content browser in the command do not result in anything.
I do not get why new Archicad Architecture has 3d modeling when Revit architecture already provided for it. What is the different between those two? I really want to know the difference. It bothers me somewhat about them.
