I updated my computer to windows 7 32 bit and need the file: AdskHwCertificationDatabase.xml - version 17.1.0.4 so that I can find out the correct driver for my OS and my quadrofx 1700 graphics card. Autodesk doesn't support 2008 Architecture and the on;y file I can find is buried in a torrent file with a pirated copy of 2008 and I DO NOT wish to download that.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI've been looking through old threads on here that all seem to date back to 2008 for this same problem I'm having, but the way to fix them only seems to work for Windows XP and I'm currently on Windows 7.
Problem:
I'll have a session of ACA 2008 running and if I double click on another dwg file it starts up another session of ACA instead of opening within the current session I'm already running. My SDI setting = 0. I tried switching it to 1 and that didn't work. Put it back to 0 and still didn't change anything.
One of the older threads on here [URL] .... says to go in to windows explorer/ tools / folder options, but that set up is different now in Windows 7 than it was in XP so I can't get to Files Tab and change anything for dwg.
I recently found a command on the internet that enables only solids in a .dwg to be exported to a seperate autocad .dwg, muggins here didnt take a note of the command and I have searched google ten times over to find it again but to no avail.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have drawings that were made in AutoCAD Architecture 2008 that when opened in AutoCAD Architecture 2012, the 0-width walls in the drawing don't show up anymore. The only solution I found was to change the Base Height in the properties of the wall (which I accessed by choosing the zdiagnostics display setting) to 10' instead of the standard 1/2" that we normally use.
I'm guessing it has to do with the wall styles as they were transferred from out 2008 to our 2012 template.
Is there any reason to keep 2008 if you have a new copy of 2011? Any old features lost or old files types that can't be opened in 2011 that worked in 2008?
What's the best ways to make sure files edited and saved in 2011 can also be opened and fully edited by users of 2008?
Save as older version? Export as IFC? Something else?
For some reason I am not able to modify the values for the paths. I am using ACA2011.
View 3 Replies View RelatedWe have a problem with Autodesk 360 tab in AutoCAD Architecture and AutoCAD. We have created two deployments. One for AutoCAD Architecture and one for AutoCAD. In both deployments we have choosen not to install Autodesk 360. We edited the ini file as told in this thread [URL] ..., and it works fine. However now we want to install Autodesk 360 for som users. We installed via AdSync.msi in the cloudsync folder and the 360 client was installed. The problem is that The 360 tab in AutoCAD still is grayd out and ther is no 360 tab in options.
We even tried to install with the original ini file but with no luck.
When hovering my pointer over an annotative object, the annotative symbol does not appear. This works on my other computers but not this one. Is it a setting somewhere or is it a problem with the install? I don't remember if it ever worked correctly or stopped working at some point in my learning process on ACA 2011 over the last 6 mos.

I am a computer technician in a society that uses AutoCAD Architecture 2010.I'm having some problems with the software.
First problem:
On the computer of one of our users, the profile created in Autocad suddenly disappears :-(. We do not know why ... The user is obliged each time to recreate his profile, reconfigure all toolbars .Have you ever encountered this problem?
Second problem:
On another computer, from time to time the delete function of Autocad is no longer functional. We need each time between Pickfirst = 1 and that works.How to ensure that this function does not disappear?
Third problem:
On another computer, the user activates the 3D profile, he selects his palette, and when he clicks on the "more"window, autocad error appears "Error Report Autodesk,..." . Is it possible to display all palettes?
I am working with files that somebody else did, I need to bring an external reference and it dosen't show up, then I check on the ref command and seems like the external reference of that file is there, I check also on the layers and they are not off or frezze, what could be the problem?
View 2 Replies View RelatedBefore I save a drawing in AutoCAD Architecture, I hit ZOOM EXTENTS so the thumbnail preview is accurate and so it comes up the same way the next time it's opened. Unfortunately, after doing a ZOOM EXTENTS, SAVE & CLOSE, upon re-opening the drawing, the view shifts downward, which usually covers up the title of the drawing.

View 3 Replies View RelatedHave been using ACA 2013 all last week (normally do most of my work with Revit) and this time its been used intensively since install. I noticed that Autdesk 360 was doing allot of syncing. Drawings are open all of the time so the syncing activity is continuous.Then I found that over the last week broadband useage generally is clocking up to 11Gb per day (I get 60 per month), other browsers were slow and I think I have traced the problem to Autodesk 360 - it stoppped as soon as I disconnected from the cloud. It seems there is a huge amount of up and down stream data - turn 360 back on and the router lights start flashing furoiously. The cloud storage is less than 1Gb.

In the wall-drawing i recently set the walls color to "by layer" via the display properties in style manager.
Unfortunately they keep their old color in the other files. I tried visretain and it didn't do the trick.
After a few seconds in the program the menu with all the slides like insert,view,etc. somehow freezes. i can´t pick it anymore. the rest of the program is working,i can work on the work surface with the current tool, but choosing an ew one isn´t possible. i have this problem with different version 2011,12 and even 13....
Working isn´t possible this way.

For office standards sake, I've created commands in drop menus that allow every employee to use various ‘standard’ page setups: for our plotter, printer and .dwg to .pdf. It's done with a lisp routine that basically looks up a .dwg with all those page setups already created (-psetupin).
Also, I've created 2 custom .pc3 files. The first is called 'Plotter' and the second is called 'Printer'. I did this in order to simply the task of (not) modifying our customization in the event of a dying printer/plotter. These .pc3 files are on our network and every user has access to them via an office profile, with the appropriate Printer Support File Path. We all have the same printer/plotter drivers.
Problem:Everything works fine, except for 2 employees. The lisp routine loads properly, as I can see it go in the command line and the page setup actually loads as well, as its name is in the page setup drop down menu, in the Plot menu. However, the page setup isn't 'selectable'. Also, if we try to 'preview' the plot we get this message: The selected layout has an invalid media configuration.
Every option in the page setup in as wanted (printer/Plotter name, scale, plot area, plot offset, etc.), EXCEPT for the paper size (even though the paper size specified in the lisp routine is available in the paper size list).
95% of the page setups work properly. The only one that don’t work are those for our plotter on paper sizes called ‘A1 (landscape)’ & ‘A0’.
I’ve created new .pc3 files, as I wanted to be sure they weren’t corrupted. We’ve reinstalled the printer/plotter drivers. I’ve reinstalled the office profile. I’ve checked that the paper sizes specified in the lisp routine were available in the .pc3 file.

Im currently in my second year at architecture school and have recently been learning how to render and do simple animations on autodesk. Being a poor student and only having an existing home computer, how to update my system so I would be able to run some simple renders on my computer?
I have attached an image below of my system details. My computer doesnt have a graphics card and I know I need to get that sorted.
ACA12 - the mouse wheel doesn't work on many of the dropdowns anymore? Is this an 'improvement' or is there a new variable I need to learn to turn it back on.
Do autodesk have only 12 fonts on their machine? Why is the text style font name drop boxes so tiny? Makes it real time consuming to select a font when you have lots of fonts as I'd imagine most machines have.

I have a set of drawings.
Titleblocks are drawing files with the floors xref'd in.
It's a pretty regular aggregate xref method.
I have a sheet with a roof plan.
The third floor (unique xref - attach) has vpcolours assigned to layers so that the walls show greyed out, for routing roof drains.
If I plot this sheet on it's own, the walls below show.
If I plot the whole set by shift clicking the drawings in the sheet set, and choosing publish to PDF, this drawing doesn't show. I get the roof plan without the xref'd walls below showing.
I'd like to issue one pdf file of the whole set, but this one sheet in the middle isn't showing. I don't have an adobe suite to plot the roof plan on it's own and cut it in for the wrong one because $1500.00
I'd like to be able to plot the draiwng correctly from AutoCAD.
Im currently using Autocad Architecture, is it true that Autocad Architecture creates a bigger file size compared to Revit Architecture? Lets say that same structure and components are created.

I can only save it as AutoCAD LT 2004, is there a way for me to add AutoCAD LT 2008 as an option? If not is there a compatibility pack for him that he can download. There was a slight issue in the transfer. Im not doing anything that uses the mechanical features, just normal autocad features. The option for my computer is better if it is possible.
