AutoCAD 2013 :: Options -> Support File Search Path
May 8, 2012I have been changing setting in the Options dialog box for many years but have never made any changes directly to the "Working Support File Search Path" because these update automatically to reflect changes i make in the "Support File Search Path."
What is the purpose of these "Working" settings?
AutoCAD 2010 :: Support File Search Path Lost
May 12, 2011When I migrated to 2012 form 2011, it only migrated a partial list of the support file search locations. So, I reset the ones that were missing and exported out my profile.
Next I saved my workspace to my name and checked the box to "automatically save workspace".
I shut my computer down for the night. When I restarted my computer, then AutoCAD 2012 the missing support paths are missing again. I am not the only one in the CAD department that is having this issue. It is so annoying to have to reset my profile every time I shut my computer down.

Sep 18, 2013Some of our 64-bit users lose their custom Support File Search Paths.
After reading about it, I saw that I could add them back in by putting
(setenv "ACAD" "S:\Fonts;S:\Acad2007\Hatch_Patterns;S:\Acad2007\Lisp;S:\Acad2007\Simpson\Menu;”)
at the end of acad2013.lsp.
1. However, I get malformed string on input error in AutoCAD.
2. My other question is do I need to list only the custom paths or all of the built-in paths as well?
AutoCAD 2013 :: Quick Print Screen Of Support File Search Path?
Jun 12, 2012Do a quick print screen of support file search path? Our computer's are set up by an outside source and I believe they did not migrate anything correctly or did something incorrectly. My issue specifically is anything to do with rendering and materials displaying is not working. I just want to make sure ACAD 2013 is looking at all the standard file locations along with our customization files. This is happening on 2 computers that have 2013 installed, all the rest are still using 2012 and this works fine. I tried exporting that profile, but still nothing works for rendering.

Jul 19, 2012I add 3 folder locations to the Support File Search Path. At random, all 3 of these locations disappear. I haven't tracked when this happens and what maybe happened previously, but I know I'm not the only one within my office that this has happened to. The paths are on a file server for our blocks.
Not sure how relevant this is, but I have a HP Z420 Workstation, W7-64-bit, Autodesk Building Design Suite Ultimate, using AutoCAD MEP 2013.

One thing I would like to add to this lisp routine is the ability to add support file search paths.
Is there a simple setenv variable for this? or is it more complicated?

Oct 26, 2010I have a few problems with my autoCAD 2010 version on my new computer.When I make a few hatches, there is a possibility that my entire computer freezes and the only way out is a hard shut down of my computer.
The same problem also appeared when I tried to open a drawing direct in autoCAD or when I search the file to make an exref into the drawing.

Sep 21, 2012I updated my computer to windows 7 32 bit and need the file: AdskHwCertificationDatabase.xml - version 17.1.0.4 so that I can find out the correct driver for my OS and my quadrofx 1700 graphics card. Autodesk doesn't support 2008 Architecture and the on;y file I can find is buried in a torrent file with a pirated copy of 2008 and I DO NOT wish to download that.

ACA2013 was released and I have had it on the desk for some time and finally I got the nerve to load the upgrade. This I did in accordance with the instructions. The upgrade went well.
Additional problems with my working files involved, the file will lose data while working in the file, the program will do strange things to the file like I would lose data while in layout tab within a viewport and the data would still be present in the model tab. I have lost printer setup files only to reopen the drawing and find these have returned.I have lost layout tabs completely. I would reload another menu and they would return. I was speaking to another person comparing Autocads and his had the layout tabs and mine did not.I have zoom scaling problems within the layout viewport. I use to be able to zoom, scale, 1/20xp for 1:20 scale and it would not recognise the command.I was informed via Autodesk to load the service pack Autocad_2013_sp1.14_64, this would not work then I was informed to load the service pack Autocad Architecture _2013_sp1_64 which it did successfully. Still had problems with ACA2013. have situations where the shell command will not work ie punch a hole within the object selected.I have changed from the working model tab to layout tab and back to model tab only to have the view change for no reason ie it will go into (+)(custom view)(wire frame) without selecting it.I have lost data, (part of the actual drawing) within my working drawing simply by using the boeleon subtract command.I have situation when you use the push pull command and nothing happens and then you reopen ACA afresh and try it again and this time it will work.I have email Autodesk in the US and it got alll TO HARD for them and they have abandoned me.
AutoCAD Architecture :: Unable To Overwrite DWF File On Network Path Using Publish
Aug 31, 2011In ACA2012, we cannot use the Publish command to overwrite an existing DWF file of same name, for instance you publish a set, then need to re-publish and overwrite the earlier version. We get an error message that the DWF is currently open in another program...when it clearly is not open anywhere and Design Review is closed. We have several servers running different versions of microsoft server, but the results are the same to any of them.
We do NOT get an error message when publishing/overwriting to the C: drive, only a network path. Also, if we use the Print command instead of Publish, well it only does the current page but it DOES allow the networked DWF to be overwritten.
I am puzzled by what could be the difference in that Publish will not overwrite a networked DWF file yet Print will?
This has never happened to us in previous versions of ACA or Design Review.
AutoCAD .NET :: Printer Configuration Search Path?
Nov 28, 2012I need to set the Printer Configuration Search Path and the Plot Style Table Search Path. Currently I am using COM but the issue I have is that I need to run the same application on 2 different machines, one has only Autocad 2010 (xp-32bit), the other has both Autocad 2010 and Autocad 2012(win7-64bit) and I've got some difficulty to have it running.
Can I set those paths without using COM?

Nov 27, 2012I am having an issue with my assembly grabbing an out of date part. I was wondering what the sequence for the search path Inventor goes thru. I assume it first searches the folder you are in but does it go down, up after that? If there is a part below which way does it go? Is there a possibility it could be grabbing the wrong part if it is not in the same folder?

Apr 23, 2012My computer is not searching for the xrefs correctly. Whenever I switch to another job and try to load an xref, the computer searches under the last job I worked on and nothing else. I have several folders listed as search paths but it just seems to be ignoring them. We never used to have this problem and I cannot figure out what has changed.

Mar 27, 2013I have loaded an xref in to my working file. I temporarily unloaded the xref so that it would not be in the way as I was editing my drawing. Even though the xref is unloaded and I can not see it on screen it still highlights and becomes visible as if I picked it with my fence while I am trying to edit other entities to my drawing.

Sep 16, 2011I am trying to insert a block (using .Net) that does not already exist on the drawing. It is on a network share, which is in the search path. If I, from the command line insert the block, it finds it ok and inserts it. But when I do this from .Net code it does not search for the block. So how do you get it to search for the block and insert it?
Here is a code snippet I'm using to insert the block:

Jul 30, 2013I'm trying to get the file name of a file outside the search path. Obviously (findfile) is not an option. The file location changes with each project so adding a search path is also not an option. I can get the path to the file but i can't seem to figure out how to get the file name. I can also get the first set of characters, as they are constant from project to project, it's just the end of the file name that changes. The file is always a PDF.

Mar 25, 2010We have a person in the office that would like to create their own .ctb file that we would like to have them to access but they will also need to access our .ctb files (Standard). We currently restrict access to the .ctb files as they can be alterered leading to problems for everyone printing. Is there a way to create another path so they we can have a locked folder of .ctb files and an unlocked folder for .ctb files.

First Problem is, when mouse over an icon/box/whatever you call it (eg. Line tool, Circle tool, etc), it only displays the text, but it doesn't show a blue highlight like it's supposed to do, and when i select it, the Blue highlight does not transfer to it, it remains on the Line tool
Second, The Search box isn't working
Third, when i switch from Drafting & Annotation to something else or vice versa, the tabs remain the same, and is usually accompanied by some annoying lags.

Oct 7, 2012I updated to Arch. 13 and some of my content (mainly casework) was not working properly, so I deleted it and decided to just re-download the files. Insert ribbon > Seek search bar leaves me with a blank page. I've tried queries: "casework" "ceiling fan" "furnace" "family" "lighting" and "wall."
I've tried getting through via Revit Architecture as well.
I'm in the middle of a design concept rendering for a client... so this caught me completely off-guard.

Photoshop :: CS4 / OpenGL Support Not Working?
Aug 25, 2013OpenGL support does not seem to be working on PhotoshopCC. The HUD color picker does not appear and when I try to rotate the canvas, a message pops up that says the rewuest could not be completed because it only works with OpenGL enabled windows.
I have two NVIDIA Quadro K600 cards (with up to date drivers), a Cintiq monitor and a new Dell workstation. I'm using the trial version of Photoshop CC. (I had to replace my computer recently because the old one died, and rather than reinstalling CS4 I decided to try CC and see how I liked it)
My machine is a powerful graphics computer, so it ought to be able to handle OpenGL. Under Preferences / Performance I do have "Use Graphics Processor" checked, but it does not work.

Jul 25, 2013I am brand new to Inventor and I am being given the seemingly simple task of finding the tooling files that needs to be checked for correction on account of parts manufactured out of tolerance. The plotted drawings I'm given has text on in that can find the files, but the drawings are huge. Is there a way to find text like I've been doing when given the similar task in Autocad? I see no edit menu in Inventor.
