I do not get why new Archicad Architecture has 3d modeling when Revit architecture already provided for it. What is the different between those two? I really want to know the difference. It bothers me somewhat about them.
View 4 RepliesI updated my computer to windows 7 32 bit and need the file: AdskHwCertificationDatabase.xml - version 17.1.0.4 so that I can find out the correct driver for my OS and my quadrofx 1700 graphics card. Autodesk doesn't support 2008 Architecture and the on;y file I can find is buried in a torrent file with a pirated copy of 2008 and I DO NOT wish to download that.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI want to create a space style similar to BOMA with editable boundaries to use for LEED Daylighting calculations. I figured out how to make a new property set definitions, new space style, etc., but I can't get the boundaries to read as the LEED boundaries. I want the Base area to remain as is, but I want NET to be Daylit, Useable to be Sidelit, and Gross to be Toplit.
I could do the workaround and just use the OOTB BOMA style, but then others editing will have to constantly translate which means what as we edit the drawings. When you look at the display display Properties for the space style, the boundaries and hatches read as net, useable, etc. I can't figure out where to redefine those and when you right click the space and Edit Boundary, I need to be able to display the correct properties, not the BOMA properties.
it's possible to create a barrel vault skylight that would work similar to a curtain wall (i.e. stretch the skylight and it adjusts to a fixed size and adds mullions)?
View 1 Replies View RelatedWe have a problem with Autodesk 360 tab in AutoCAD Architecture and AutoCAD. We have created two deployments. One for AutoCAD Architecture and one for AutoCAD. In both deployments we have choosen not to install Autodesk 360. We edited the ini file as told in this thread [URL] ..., and it works fine. However now we want to install Autodesk 360 for som users. We installed via AdSync.msi in the cloudsync folder and the 360 client was installed. The problem is that The 360 tab in AutoCAD still is grayd out and ther is no 360 tab in options.
We even tried to install with the original ini file but with no luck.
My autodesk loaded on windows 7 but will not open up.
View 3 Replies View RelatedHave been using ACA 2013 all last week (normally do most of my work with Revit) and this time its been used intensively since install. I noticed that Autdesk 360 was doing allot of syncing. Drawings are open all of the time so the syncing activity is continuous.Then I found that over the last week broadband useage generally is clocking up to 11Gb per day (I get 60 per month), other browsers were slow and I think I have traced the problem to Autodesk 360 - it stoppped as soon as I disconnected from the cloud. It seems there is a huge amount of up and down stream data - turn 360 back on and the router lights start flashing furoiously. The cloud storage is less than 1Gb.

Being a poor student and only having an existing home computer, how to update my system so I would be able to run some simple renders on my computer?

The content browser in AutoCAD Architecture 2013 does not seem to be working on a standard users computer. The profile has been rebuilt alongside a repair/reinstall through the control panel.

and typing content browser in the command do not result in anything.
How to import 3D projects from AutoCAD Architecture into Revit ? A 2D layout has come through from a 3D DWG, though 3D structures have not.

Is it possible to project an elevation drawn in CAD onto a curved wall in Revit?
The pattern of the cladding is very complicated and varies in both directions (curves) so it was easier to draw in in CAD, but I would like to project it on my curved wall in Revit, co that I could calculate the cladding areas accurately.
My detail component manager in AutoCAD Architecture 2011 was working fine until I installed Revit 2013 on it (as part of Building Design Suite 2013). I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling MS .Net framework, but it has not worked.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have this file that won't open in AutoCAD Architecture 2012, well let me rephrase that, it won't finish opening. It has 4 or 5 xref's attached. I was able to open this same file using 2010. Through process of elimination I was able to determine that a file that was exported from Revit MEP 2012 was the problem. When that file was detached the drawing would open just fine. To make things more interesting, I am able to open the Revit Export file just fine using 2012. What diabolical combination of event has happened to cause this SNAFU.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI used Revit Architecture to build up a project. It is now ready for all further task you can do with Revit MEP, like electricity and plumping.
I tried serveal ways to import the rvt file in Revit MEP. If I just open my Revit Arcitecutre file I have all my views and cuts but I can't install any tube or wire because the view is missing where I should see it.
The other way I tried is to open a new MEP project by using the standart template and link it with my Revit Arcitecture file. That works, but I only get a shape of my project and it is really hard to navigate without all the views I was used to in the Revit Arcitecutre.
How can I use MEP on my current project by keeping the views and structure of my Revit Arcitecture file.
I installed Revit Architecture but it didnt work so i decided to uninstall it. When i tried intalling it again it said that Revit Arcitecture is already installed. I did the clean uninstall that is posted on the website but it still didnt work. What do I do?

The employee is acting through screenshots. All worked well using 2009 Revit or Architecture on XP machines. However, we added new faster Windows 7 machines with 2012 products. The PCs are all 64 bit with 16g RAM and a 22mb internet connection.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI am using Autodesk Revit Architecture 2013. I am using mirror project from the manage pulldown under position. I have used this tool many times in the past with success. This particular home is an average size two story. The file is about 40Mb. I tried flipping the home and Revit gets to about 29% and stopps. I let it run for an hour over lunch, even over night and no luck. I tried the same house on another computer running Autodesk Revit Arch. 2013 and it did the same thing.
I tried purging the file, I made sure nothing was locked, I even got rid of my grouped items. I tried copying the plan into another "fresh" file with nothing extra (like title blocks or other families).
I do have some floor framing shown in this plan. I used structural 2x10s to produce the framing (I did try getting rid of the framing and it didnt work). I tried turning off the roof lines (it has about three reverse gables) and nothing.
I need a file called Curtain Wall Dbl Glass.rfa. It's missing in the Doors folder in my UK Fmaily Library in my software. I've found one on the web. I've copy/pasted it onto my Desktop. How do I now load it into my Revit project ?
